Brian Carr completed his Bachelor of Arts, Mass Comm/Film degree from Emerson College with an internship at Summit Entertainment, where he was later employed as a story editor and screenwriter. After a supernatural thriller he wrote for the company was sold to
Bob Weinstein of Dimension Films, Brian left Summit to write full time. He went on to sell a supernatural thriller to APG, write an original thriller for Mandeville Pictures, adapt novels for Phoenix Pictures and Mostow/Lieberman and work as a television writer for the
Mark Frost horror series,
All Souls (2001). Since then he has written a supernatural romantic comedy for The Yorn Company, a historical espionage drama for Newmarket's
William Tyrer, a teen ensemble comedy for Polygram, a Wall Street crime story for
Bob Rafelson and a psychological thriller for
Tony Krantz. He developed a comic book adaptation with DC Comics and Weed Road Pictures and a TV pilot with
Kim Tannenbaum. Two original action thrillers were championed to studios by
Mark Gordon,
Lorenzo di Bonaventura,
Jon Jashni,
Andrew Lazar,
Roberto Orci and
Alex Kurtzman - and his last two original comedies had active advocates in
Dana Goldberg,
Barry Josephson and
Mary Parent.
