Bill Lamb has been named VP and Gm of Kttv and Kcop, the Fox duopoly in La, replacing Bob Cook, who is leaving to head distribution for the Fox Corp. station group.
The news was announced by Fox Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy, who called them “two exciting moves.” Lamb’s arrival in La will put his “energetic and collaborative leadership style in action,” Abernethy added. Cook, he said, has a “successful track record in syndication spans decades, so leading our distribution efforts for Fts was a natural fit.”
Lamb praised the “rich history and great opportunity for the future” at Kttv and Kcop, adding, “I embrace the challenge and can’t wait to get started.”

Miramax has brought in two long-time television executives to help develop its own cable networks. Lindsay Gardner and Bob Cook were named strategic advisers to CEO Mike Lang on Thursday. Greg Meidel has been named president of Twentieth Television.
As expected, MyNetworkTV president Meidel has been given the reins of News Corp.'s TV syndication division and oversee all first-run, network and off-network programming and distribution for Twentieth TV and MyNetworkTV.
Meidel, who succeeds outgoing Twentieth TV president and COO Bob Cook, will report to Fox TV Stations CEO Jack Abernethy.
Meidel held the position of president and COO of Twentieth from 1992-95, when he was in charge of all first-run and reality programming for Fox Broadcasting and syndication, including "America's Most Wanted," "Cops" and "A Current Affair."
