Many musicians have recorded covers of famous Bob Dylan songs. Dylan is aware of most of them and has varying opinions of these artists’ renditions of his music. One rock legend who covered a song of Bob Dylan’s is Bruce Springsteen, and the singer thought it was “incredible.”

Bob Dylan doesn’t have many hits in his career. He’s never had a No. 1 hit, and he only has four top-10 hits. However, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” came close to reaching the top 10. Dylan wrote the song for the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, but it was released two months before its premiere as a single.

D. Smith knows how to make a person stand up and pay attention. From the rollicking opening scene of “Kokomo City” — her luminous documentary portrait of four Black trans sex workers which she shot, edited, and directed — it’s clear the terms are being set by a visionary artist who just happened to funnel her interdisciplinary talents into filmmaking for this particular project. How lucky we are that she found this medium.
“Kokomo City” may be her filmmaking debut, but this songwriter innately understands the rhythms and beats that make compelling cinematic storytelling. You can see it in the staccato contrast of light and dark in her elegant black-and-white photography. You can hear it in the unexpected needle drops and deep-cut tracks, and you can feel it...

The 1980 Oscar nominees in Best Original Song were:
“People Alone” from “The Competition”

“On the Road Again” from “Honeysuckle Rose”
“9 to 5” from “9 to 5”
Won: “Fame” from “Fame”
Should’ve won: “9 to 5” from “9 to 5”
1980 marks a refreshingly sensational year for Best Original Song at the Oscars – and that’s even in spite of voters not recognizing the memorable likes of Blondie‘s “Call Me” (from “American Gigolo”); Kenny Loggins‘ “I’m Alright” (from “Caddyshack”); Olivia Newton-John‘s “Magic” (from “Xanadu”); and Neil Diamond‘s “America” (from “The Jazz Singer”).

Case Summary
In 2000s Albuquerque, Jimmy’s instincts for salesmanship have kicked in due to the boredom of working a legit job at the world’s most boring cell phone store. The gimmick he’s come up with — marketing burner “pay as you go” phones to folks who might want their “cash-based” businesses to fly under the radar — is a smart one, but the lack of foot traffic (and his innate restlessness) pushes him onto the streets to hock his wares…which goes well, until he gets mugged for his cash.
So it’s back to trying to play it safe and legal… At least, that’s what he says. But as “Breaking Bad” fans know, the future isn’t going to be all that easy.
The Least Legal Move
Is it illegal for Jimmy to purchase and then resell burner phones?...
