In his new role, the CNN chief national correspondent will focus on voters in key states across the country as the he 2024 presidential campaign cycle gets underway. According to a press release from CNN, “The project will follow the voters who pick presidents and settle close races, giving them a voice and telling in-depth and nuanced stories about how they view politicians and political issues throughout the election cycle.”

Washington journalism veteran Dana Bash will take over CNN’s weekday broadcast of “Inside Politics,” giving the network mainstay her first weekday anchoring assignment in nearly three decades at the Warner Bros. Discovery-backed network.
Bash will take over the program from John King, whose facility with a digital technology known as CNN’s “Magic Wall” that is used heavily during election coverage has expanded his overall profile. King will lead a new reporting project focused on voters in key battleground states as the 2024 presidential campaign cycle gets underway.
Bash will continue as co-anchor of the Sunday political talk program “State of the Union,” along with Jake Tapper. King is expected to continue to play a significant role in CNN’s coverage of elections.
Placing her at the noontime program is the latest maneuver in a wholesale reworking of the bulk of CNN’s daytime schedule under CEO Chris Licht.

Court TV, the iconic TV brand known for broadcasting the trials of O.J. Simpson, the Menendez Brothers and Casey Anthony, will relaunch under its old name with a new backer.
Katz Networks, a unit of the E.W. Scripps Co. which operates multicast networks like Bounce, Escape and Grit, will relaunch Court TV in May 2019. Just as it did when it was owned by Turner Broadcasting, the network will be devoted to live, gavel-to-gavel coverage, legal reporting and expert analysis of trials across the country. Court TV’s 17-year run ended in 2008, when Turner rebranded it as truTV.
In order to pull off the reboot, Katz acquired Court TV’s intellectual property, including the trademark, website and 100,000-hour library from Turner. It also brought in original Court TV anchor Vinnie Politan as lead anchor and installed former Court TV and CNN producers John Alleva and Scott Tufts as vice presidents and managing editors.

Gretchen Carlson revealed on Wednesday that she's suing network Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes for alleged sexual harassment and retaliation, a move that is sure to have significant fallout for both the dismissed Fox News anchor and her former boss.
According to papers obtained by People, Carlson is alleging that her former employer "has unlawfully retaliated against Carlson and sabotaged her career because she refused sexual advances and complained about severe and pervasive sexual harassment."
Ailes has responded to the allegations in a statement obtained by People, in which he calls the claims "retaliatory" and "offensive."

Court TV has pulled the plug on Catherine Crier Live. "As part of Court TV's rebranding strategy, we have decided not to renew the Catherine Crier' Live' show," the network said Tuesday. "The 5-6 p.m. hour is slated to feature the type of real-life stories that have given our primetime lineup such strong ratings momentum." Crier also is leaving her post as executive editor, legal news specials, at Court TV. Crier, which debuted in February 2001, will have its last telecast April 27. The network will fill the slot with repeats of Psychic Detectives, at least for the short term. Court TV's rebrand, which includes a new name for the network, is set to launch Jan. 1.
