Born 1958, to a caretaker father and a mother who was an accounts clerk. He trained at Anna Scher's Childrens Theatre school in London. and worked professionally from the age of 13, became a member of the R S C and made his debut as a director with a fringe production of Caryl Churchill's Fen. He sang on the original recording of British band Blur's single
"Parklife".
Has an uncredited role in Bugsy Malone (1976) as a waiter who spills
spaghetti.
Phil says that he would not release another single having appeared on Blur's 'Parklife' where he speaks a verse. The reason is that he 'could not top' such a great song.
He was also in a band "Phil Daniels and The Cross" in 79/80 with a single called Kill Another Night.
