"I demand a rematch!" Viva Kids has debuted an official trailer for Racetime, an animated adventure film from Canada. "A spectacular sled race through the village" is the pitch and pretty much the entire synopsis. Frankie-Four-Eyes and his team, including Sophie as the driver, take on the newcomers: the mysterious and conceited Zac and his athletic cousin Charly. This is a sequel to another animated film called Snowtime, first released in 2015. That one was about a snowball fight, this new one is about a sled race. And they both look awful, like made-for-tv morning cartoons junk. Which is totally fine if that's where this was playing, but it's coming to theaters? Maybe kids will enjoy. Sundance 2016 is fast approaching. Last week we posted the movie lineup of Midnight and Competition film selections. We now have the complete lineup for the premieres in both the feature film and documentary categories. We also have their selections for the Spotlight and Kid films. I've also included a list of special events.
There are a lot of great films on this list that I'm excited about seeing because of the incredible talent involved. A few days ago, it has been confirmed that the Canadian TV series Xiii began production. Now, the identity of the ensemble cast's members - besides Stuart Townsend, Virginie Ledoyen and Caterina Murino - has been announced. Moreover, don't expect to see some returning faces if you saw the two-parts TV film Xiii: The Conspiracy.
Speaking about those who will return, we'll see Stephen McHattie, as Ben Carrington; Greg Bryk, as Colonel John Amos.
As for the new faces, there will be Stuart Townsend, who replaces Stephen Dorff in the titular role. Aisha Tyler will replace Lucinda Davis as Major Janet Jones, Xiii's love interest. Other new faces include Paulino Nunes as Frank Giordino, the head of the CIA who is determined to bring down Xiii.
