Stevie Nicks is an accomplished songwriter who liked to record her own songs, but she decided to take on a Bruce Springsteen tune in the 1980s. Springsteen sent the song to Nicks, and she happily agreed to record it. Springsteen didn’t like one element of her cover, though, so he turned down her version of the song. Because of this, it ended up back in his hands.

In the 1980s, Springsteen wrote the song “Janey Don’t You Lose Heart” and gave it to Nicks with the understanding that he had the final say over its release. The song was upbeat and encouraging with a catchy chorus; it would have felt at home on a Nicks album. She agreed and recorded a version of the tune.

Rock’n’roll musicians have a habit of thinking of themselves like secular gods, but the truth is they’re not infallible. No matter how successful a band may or may not have been in the past, there’s never any guarantee their next record will live up to the heights they’ve previously scaled. Sometimes, everything that once went right just all goes wrong.
There are often extenuating circumstances, of course. Band members may leave due to death, drugs or just good old-fashioned “musical differences”, or an ambitious new direction may turn out to be more like a swerve into oncoming traffic.
Whatever the cause, the fact remains that just because an album has the name of a classic band slapped across the cover, it doesn’t necessarily follow that the album itself will be a classic.

Musicians build their reputations on their art, which means that they can sometimes get away with rude behavior, outlandish styles, and, in the case of these three artists, smelling bad. Here are three talented musicians who have caused people to complain about their odor.
Bob Dylan | Rowland Scherman/Getty Images Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan’s longtime road manager Victor Maymudes dealt with a lot while working with the musician. When their working relationship crumbled, Maymudes aired some of his grievances about Dylan. These included rude behavior, like blowing cigarette smoke in people’s faces or refusing to answer questions. He also had problems with Dylan’s hygiene.
“He doesn’t take his clothes off when he goes to sleep and the guy doesn’t clean his teeth,” Maymudes said, per the book Down the Highway: The Life of Bob Dylan by Howard Sounes. “He’ll smell like a f***ing hog.

Musicians often give warm shout outs to their fans in interviews and onstage, but not all their encounters with fans are pleasant. Some artists face unruly crowds, angry demands, and intrusions into their private lives. A number have spoken about the problems they have with fans. Here are five musicians who have discussed their least favorite types of fan encounters.
George Harrison | Max Scheler – K & K/Redferns A Stevie Nicks fan got a tattoo dedicated to the musician
One of Stevie Nicks’ least favorite fan encounters occurred when a fan got a permanent tribute to the artist.
“I came out of the stage door and a girl was crying hysterically,” Nicks said, per the book Gold Dust Woman: The Biography of Stevie Nicks by Stephen Davis. “I can never walk away from someone in tears, so I asked what was wrong. She said, ‘Will you sign my arm?’ So I did.

Machinima and Hasbro announced today that they are developing the final two installments of their Transformers Prime Wars animated series. It all started with Transformers: Combiner Wars, which was pretty awesome and worth checking out if you haven't seen it yet.
The two final chapters of the trilogy that they are developing are called Transformers: Titans Return and Transformers: Power of the Primes. According to the press release, the first sequel, Transformers: Titans Return, "will take the action of the series to new ‘heights,’ and feature return appearances from many fan-favorite Transformers characters as well as introduce new Autobots and Decepticons. Set in the period following the excitement of Transformers: Combiner Wars, the depleted forces of Cybertron and a broken Council of Worlds must now face-off against a new threat that is larger than anything that has come before."
There are no details on the third chapter, but I'm sure they'll come in due time.

Speaking loudly, so as to be heard over the sound of the bottom of the barrel being well and truly scraped, TWC-Dimension’s Bob Weinstein announced today that he’s put a Furby movie in production. And lest you get excited at the thought that female golfer Joanne Furby’s story is finally being told, we should be clear: he meant the hideous owl thing that Hasbro once tried to foist upon the world.
According to Variety, Weinstein announced the new film earlier today, as one of five on his studio’s current slate. “We think that this can resonate as a four-quadrant film,” added Hasbro executive Stephen Davis, referring to movies that do well with all four demographics of people who still like Furbies. Davis also noted that it wouldn’t just be a “90-minute commercial” for the toys, which were briefly popular in the ’90s before ultimately going...

Let’s face it, Ouija was pretty much worthless. It was forgettable and a wasted opportunity. The end product was definitely the result of too many hands in the pot. However, Universal knows that acquiring the license of using the “Ouija” name is definitely something that should be capitalized upon. It also doesn’t hurt that the first film did well at the box office, probably based off the name. Luckily for horror fans, they got a great director in Mike Flanagan to take a crack at the franchise and judging from the trailer, this should have been the original film.

In my mind, the original 1986 Transformers: The Movie is the best Transformers movie ever made. I don’t care what anyone says. I loved that film, even though they killed off half of my favorite characters within the first 30 minutes. When I was a kid I was lucky enough to see it on the big screen at a special screening for some of the cast and crew members. I’ll never forget that experience. The movie just oozes '80s awesomeness.

Get ready for another cinematic universe filled with superheroes and super villains, because this morning Hasbro confirmed that it has assembled the writers who will be crafting its interconnected franchise of films. Those names include author Michael Chabon, graphic novel writer Brian K. Vaughan, and screenwriter Nicole Perlman.
The writers will sit down and craft a plan for the development of the Hcu (too early for an acronym?), which at this point is suggested to include G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Visionaries, M.A.S.K., and Rom. But it won’t just be Chabon, Vaughan, and Perlman (who co-wrote Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel) working for Hasbro, other writers like Jeff Pinkner and Lindsey Beer have also been tapped to help out.
Here’s the full list of writers (aside from the first three):
-Lindsey Beer, who was just hired to adapt Kingkiller Chronicle for Lionsgate

Over the next decade, a lot of things may change in your life. Maybe you'll graduate from college, have children, get married, win the lottery, take a trip around the world, or move to a new city. But there is one thing that will remain constant, and no, it's not taxes — it's "Transformers." We already know Paramount has created a writers room/brain trust to come up with new ideas for "Transformers" movies, and it was recently revealed the team came up with five feasible pitches for new movies. And these ideas range from the already planned "Transformers 5," to an animated movie set on Cybertron. But no matter what, Hasbro confirmed that they are going to keep pumping out new pictures about the Autobots and Decepticons long into the future. "You're going to see a new 'Transformers' movie coming from Hasbro and Paramount and Michael Bay and our other partners,...

If you’re not a fan of the Transformers movies, then you may want to turn away now.
While we already know that Transformers 5 is on the way (likely with Michael Bay at the helm) and an animated spinoff set on Cybertron is in the works, Hasbro Studios president Stephen J. Davis has revealed that we should get set for a lot more than that.
More News From The Web
Talking at Mip Junior in Cannes recently, he broke down the plans for the studio as follows:
“Well, you’re gonna see a new Transformers movie coming from Hasbro and Paramount and Michael Bay and our other partners. In fact, we just finished, which some of you may have read, just an incredible experience. We decided that we wanted to plot out the next 10 years of the Transformers franchise and so we got together in a room over a three-month period of time.

In what is categorically great news for stunt people and the explosives industry, it's now official: there will be not one, not two, not three (yep, we're going to count it for maximum dramatic effect), but Four more "Transformers" films. Praise Optimus!
According to Hasbro Studios president Stephen Davis, the additional four films will roll out (yeah!) over the next decade.

Earlier this year, a dream team of writers assembled to plan out the future of the "Transformers" franchise. Up until now, only two projects seemed to be officially announced as a result of that collaboration - a fifth main film in the series, and an animated spinoff that revolves around the Transformer home world of Cybertron.
This weekend though, Hasbro has confirmed that three additional direct sequels are already planned and will carry the franchise well into the 2020s. Appearing at the Mip Junior Conference, Hasbro's Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer Stephen J. Davis spoke about where the franchise is headed in the wake of that 'Transformers' brains trust collaboration:
"They plotted out the next ten years of Transformers. Similarly we are doing the same in television and digital. So stay tuned Transformers 5 is on its way. ...And 6 and 7 and 8."

The Transformers Cinematic Universe is not planning on taking a break anytime soon. As Paramount Pictures previously addressed, the studio has big plans for the Autobots and Decepticons taking over the big screen, and now we know just how big those plans are. Hasbro has revealed that the Transformers writers room came up with enough material to confidently confirm four more Transformers sequels. That means, not only is Transformers 5 on its way, but also 6, 7 and 8. The news was announced at the Mip Junior Conference (via Tfw 2005), as a Hasbro executive spilled the beans during a Q&A session. Apparently the writers room that was previously addressed months ago went on for 3 successful months and the end result has yielded Transformers live-action films for the next 10 years. The living will communicate with the dead once again next October 21st, when Universal and Blumhouse unleash Ouija 2 into theaters. Announced earlier this year, Ouija 2 now has a director and lead actor, and both are familiar to viewers of last year's horror hit Oculus.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mike Flanagan will helm Ouija 2 and Annalise Basso will play one of the lead roles. Flanagan became a director to watch after the well-received release of his mind-bending Oculus, which centers around the horrific effects of a supernatural mirror.

Hasbro and Warner Bros have now stopped fighting, and thus a new Dungeons & Dragons movie has been announced.
Plans have been afoot for a good year or two now to bring another take on Dungeons & Dragons to the big screen. Given that Game Of Thrones is about the biggest program on television right now, and that features both dungeons and dragons, let's not class this as a surprise.
However, notwithstanding the fact that the original Dungeons & Dragons movie wasn't very good (nor its follow-ups, in truth), a legal dispute between Warner Bros and Hasbro has been holding up progress on a fresh screen adventure for the hugely popular role playing series.
Hasbro and Warner Bros have now, it's been revealed, ended their legal battle, and are moving forward together on a new Dungeons & Dragons film. Brian Goldner, Stephen Davis, Courtney Solomon, Allan Zeman and Roy Lee are all already attached as producers to the movie.
