Last November, Nintendo officially announced that a live-action movie based on The Legend of Zelda was in development and that Wes Ball would direct. Ball’s credits include The Maze Runner film trilogy and the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
Now, Ball has given fans a little more information about what they may expect from the Zelda movie. “I have this awesome idea,” Ball told Total Film. “I’ve been thinking about it for a long freakin’ time of how cool a Zelda movie would be…”
The filmmaker added, “I want to [fulfill] people’s greatest desires. I know it’s important, this [Zelda] franchise, to people, and I want it to be a serious movie. A real movie that can give people an escape.”
Ball said the driving force behind the Zelda movie is his desire to “live in that world. That’s the thing I want...

Pete Davidson is walking away from his semi-autobiographical comedy series, “Bupkis.”
The Peacock show, which debuted in May 2023, was slated to go into production this summer for a second season. Davidson issued a press statement formally pulling the plug on the series entirely.
“I’ve always seen ‘Bupkis’ as a window into my life, since it is so personal and about my struggles and family,” Davidson said. “After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media I wanted a chance to tell my story my way. Of all the work I’ve ever done, ‘Bupkis’ is by far what I’m most proud of.”
He continued, “I am so grateful to Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video, Peacock, Universal Television, and the amazing cast and writers for helping me create something honest, funny, and heartfelt. I do also feel that this part of my life is finished. I...

Pete Davidson is moving on. The comedian has decided not to proceed with a second season of his semi-autobiographical series Bupkis for Peacock.
The streamer renewed the series in June 2023, a month after its premiere. But Davidson said that he changed his mind because he feels “this part of my life is finished”.
It is the latest series to be renewed and then not move forward, although most decisions are reversed by the network or streamer.
Now it seems that fans [Spoiler Alert] will not find out how Davidson fared after his car crash at the end of season one.
The series also stars Edie Falco and Joe Pesci and comes from Universal Television and Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video.
The first season had a large entourage of guest stars including Machine Gun Kelly, Steve Buscemi, Bobby Cannavale, Charlie Day, Al Gore, Paul Walter Hauser, Chase Sui Wonders and Ray Romano.

Kate Beckinsale has put her fans and followers into high alert, posting on Instagram this week honoring Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom. But what has caught our attention isn’t the tribute to her own mother but photos that show her in the hospital with tears in her eyes.

After the mega-success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, it’s no secret that Nintendo and Illumination are looking to maximize their partnership by adapting more classic Nintendo video game properties for the silver screen. To celebrate Mario Day, which was March 10th (get it? Mar10?), Shigeru Miyamoto, the character’s creator, and Illumination head Chris Meledandri, officially announced another film set in that universe, with an April 3rd, 2026 release date. But, with a Super Mario Bros Movie 2 finally happening, what other Nintendo properties might be getting a movie?
Closer to the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie last year notorious scooper Daniel Richtman, who has a solid track record for sharing information that often pans out, said Nintendo and Illumination were working on various titles. The word "iconic" gets used a lot, but if there's one character who deserves to be called that, it's Mario. The little mustachioed guy revolutionized gaming (and plumbing) forever. He has defended kingdoms against countless threats, saved princesses, and even fought off gorillas. He hasn't done all that much actual plumbing, but he has been a racer, a doctor, a golfer, a superhero, and even an elephant.
After the huge, incredible, and not entirely surprising box office success of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" — not the Bob Hoskins one, the Chris Pratt one — it was inevitable that we would get more of the Mario brothers. After all, if Mario can have almost as many careers as Barbie, why not add "movie star" to the list?

The Super Marios Bros Movie will return with a sequel, Nintendo announced on Sunday. The film, set for release on April 3, 2026, will come almost exactly three years after the release of the original movie.
Nintendo game director Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination’s Chris Meledandri announced the news during a Mario Day video, celebrated annually on March 10 (or, more aptly, Mar10).
Co-directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic will return for the sequel, and Meledandri said on Sunday that they and their team of animators are already “busy at work storyboarding scenes and developing set designs for new environments.”
He continued, “We start animation soon, and rest assured we’ll be obsessing over every detail to get it just right.”

The stars of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are very funny people, and since three of the central gang are also writers on the show, they have an extra-intimate understanding of their characters. That means that they're able to really riff and ad-lib with the best of them, tweaking their scripted lines to make them even better or coming up with new bits wholesale if the inspiration strikes. What's on the written page and what's been added or adjusted on-set used to be a bit more secret, but since the guys co-host "The Always Sunny Podcast," where they talk about the making of the series, fans now get to know exactly who's responsible for some of the series' funniest moments.

Watching "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is hilarious, so one can only imagine what it's like to be in the same room when the gang are engaging in their over-the-top antics. The "Always Sunny" blooper reels have always been pretty great because there are so many fun little alternate line-readings and moments where everyone loses it, with a few rather funny highlights of their own. I get the giggles every time I imagine Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day cracking up talking about "the white hot cream" of a preteen Charlie in "The Gang Dances Their A**es Off," for example. Laughing can be contagious, and chuckling along with folks behind the gang is pretty easy, but apparently even star Glenn Howerton sometimes bursts into bouts of laughter when he thinks about how much he lost it during one particular moment in season 10.

There have been some truly incredible cameos on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" over the years, ranging from all of the gang's spouses to director Guillermo del Toro, who is nearly unrecognizable as Pappy McPoyle. Often, the cameos come about because the main cast knew someone — del Toro worked with star Charlie Day on "Pacific Rim," for example — but sometimes, they really try to reach beyond their circle of friends and acquaintances. Sometimes it works, while other times they're totally out of luck. The season 4 episode "Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life" is a perfect example of both, because there are some wonderful cameos and one that just sadly didn't work out.
In the episode, Dennis (Glenn Howerton) wants to publish his erotic memoirs, but Frank (Danny DeVito) and Mac (Rob McElhenney) point out that the stories inside are totally make-believe and could open them up to litigation -- for example,...

One thing to know about "Always Sunny" is that it isn't afraid to go dark. From Charlie getting molested to Dennis being a possible serial killer, this is a show filled to the brim with material that would be horrifying if delivered in a slightly different tone. Such was the case in the season 4 episode "Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life," the one where Dennis ends up in a terrifying rehab center. There he's harassed by two patients, comedian Sinbad and musician Rob Thomas. Sinbad is a terrifying force of nature, and Thomas is his loyal, quiet sidekick. The episode ends with the reveal that this was all in Dennis's head, or was it? It's sort of ambiguous.
In the original version of the episode, Sinbad and Rob Thomas got a lot more screen time, with brutal results for Thomas. As Charlie Day explained on The Always Sunny Podcast:

The writing on the long-running FX comedy series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is some of the funniest in the business, but sometimes it's really the performances that make the show so hilarious. Whether it's the way Glenn Howerton punctuates his rage with pitchy staccato line reads or simply the way Danny DeVito pronounces the word "no," the way certain moments are interpreted by the actors can really make or break a joke. One of the funniest moments in all of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" involves a bit of screaming and not too much actual dialogue, all courtesy of Andrew Friedman's character Uncle Jack -- although it turns out there was a bit of help from co-star, writer, and producer Charlie Day.

Zoe Lister-Jones was proud to attend Sunday’s Spirit Awards, and the reason is twofold. First, the multihyphenate talent turned up in Santa Monica to support a pair of nominations for Roku’s Slip, the original series she created, starred in and executive produced alongside a team that includes Dakota Johnson. Reason No. 2: She did so by walking into the event hand-in-hand with a new love in her life.
When the subject of her plus-one came up during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 41-year-old Lister-Jones responded with a big reveal: “I’m here, I’m queer, I have some fear but I’m working through it.” Lister-Jones is in a new relationship with a fellow filmmaker, Sammi Cohen, who most recently directed Netflix’s You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, the teen comedy starring Adam Sandler and family including wife Jackie and their daughters Sadie and Sunny.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has been on for a record-breaking 16 seasons, making it the longest-running live-action sitcom of all time ... but, for some reason, it's never won an Emmy. Actually, it's never even been nominated for an Emmy, unless you count the three times the series was nominated for "Outstanding Stunt Coordination For A Comedy Series Or A Variety Program." The show has been around forever and continues to make people laugh and fans go absolutely rabid creating memes and video edits, so it honestly feels a bit absurd that it's never been honored with the biggest award in television. The gang even appeared on the 2024 Emmy Awards ceremony and poked fun at the fact that they had never been awarded, though Danny DeVito noted that he had.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has had some pretty unforgettable bits over the years, but some of the best moments of the show hands down are the musical numbers. There was Dee's rapping boyfriend, Dennis and Mac's glam rock band, the animated musical number in the season 4 Christmas special, and of course, there was "The Nightman Cometh." But who could forget one of the most popular songs in "Sunny" — the patriotic anthem "Rock, Flag, and Eagle."
The song was originally an inside joke between series co-creator and star Charlie Day, who stars in the show as a character named after himself, along with actor and writer David Hornsby, who plays the recurring character Rickety Cricket.
"Hornsby and I would joke about truck commercials, and that they — at that time, I don't know if they're still doing this — it seemed like they were just pumping out the most stereotypical American things,...

The "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" guest star roster is impressive. The series has seen special appearances by the likes of Sean William Scott, Lance Reddick, P. Diddy, Tom Sizemore, and more, but among the best of the best is "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, who played the wrestler known as "Da Maniac" in the hit FX comedy series. First appearing in the episode "The Gang Wrestles for the Troops," Piper really gives his all to the character, who is a down-on-his-luck amateur wrestler who works in the local Philly circuit. It looks like he might live out of his car and he tries to sign autographs on parking tickets, but he's pretty good at the whole wrestling thing (and he's a fantastic Invigiron berry pill salesman!).

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is a beloved show with millions of adoring fans, but you don't get to be one of the most boundary-pushing comedies on air without ruffling a few feathers. Although the gang is larger than life, many of the characters draw inspiration from real people, particularly in their names. A few of the main and recurring characters in the show are named after real-life people like celebrities, close friends of the series creators, or the actors that portray them. Unfortunately, not everyone was flattered by their namesake.
The proprietors of Paddy's Pub are pretty darn despicable, but some of the show's minor characters are even less likable. The McPoyles are among some of the most repulsive characters in the show, and their sweaty, unibrowed, incestuous family often finds itself at odds with the gang. The main characters of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are so outrageous they seem like they couldn't possibly be based in real life, and Frank is perhaps the strangest of them all. Portrayed by the incomparable Danny DeVito, Dennis and Dee's millionaire father chooses to move into their friend Charlie's tiny apartment and leave his upper-class lifestyle behind.
"He's got the Midas touch, but he misses living in squalor," DeVito explained in an interview with The New York Times. "The one line that got me hooked to do the show was that I had a scene with Charlie Day, and I say [...] 'Let me come and live with you, man. I miss living in this Bohemian style.'"
Frank develops several new bohemian quirks, like a "toe knife" he uses to dig the scum out of his toenails, a habit of eating cat food before bed, and a penchant for...

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has had some wild guest stars over the years, from Guillermo del Toro to P. Diddy. Usually, the celebrities only appear for a single episode, but one Oscar nominee actually had a recurring role in season 2.
That actor is Anne Archer, whose performance as Beth Gallagher in the 1987 mega-hit "Fatal Attraction" earned her a Golden Globe nomination as well as an Academy Award nomination. Archer's time on "Sunny" was short-lived but unforgettable. The actor plays Barbara Reynolds, mother to Dee and Dennis and ex-wife of Frank. Barbara resurfaces in her family's lives in the season 2 episode "The Gang Goes Jihad" to regain control of her possessions after being divorced by Frank and robbed by her children.
Series co-creator and star Glenn Howerton has described Archer's performance in her debut episode as "very funny" and "amazing" (via the "Always Sunny" Podcast). The actor was not...

So how many feature films released during the current 2023 calendar year will end up becoming box office behemoths? Stay tuned.

Mr Richard Armitage, book the kitchen fitters and treat yourself to one of those taps that dispenses sparkling water, because you’re about to get paid. Netflix has confirmed that two new UK-set Harlan Coben adaptations are on the way, from the team behind Fool Me Once, Stay Close and The Stranger.
Next up for the Coben book-to-screen treatment in the UK is Missing You. Published in 2014, it’s the story of police detective Kat Donovan, whose life – in true Harlan Coben tradition – is turned upside down when her missing fiancé Josh (it was Jeff in the book) suddenly reappears on a dating site. Expect secrets, intrigue and grisly deaths to play out against a backdrop of expansive Carrera marble kitchen islands, Heals sofas, and £80k Range Rovers.
No cast has yet been announced for Missing You, but filming starts in spring 2024 so we can expect to hear who’ll be in it soon.

A Look at Video Game Movie Adaptations With Highest Box Office Success (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Video game movie adaptations, especially video games with large fanbases, have always been a touchy subject. The ‘physics’ of video games is different; translating all that action and storyline into a film is not the most straightforward task, and when you factor in the expectations of an entire fanbase — the whole ordeal becomes downright daunting. Luckily, video game adaptations have taken off in the past decade, especially on TV in 2023 — and quite successfully! Their box office numbers prove that.
But, as mentioned above, these movies are brutal, considering their more fantastical elements and ‘animation.’ The latest addition anticipated for success in this category is the upcoming Minecraft, scheduled to be released on April 4, 2025.
Minecraft has a star-studded cast, including Jason Momoa, Matt Berry, Danielle Brooks, and possibly Jack Black. Let’s just wait and see how it pans out.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is still a fan-favorite show after 16 seasons!
The hit comedy series – starring Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito – first premiered on FX back in 2005.
The show made history back in 2021 when it was renewed for a 15th season, making it the longest-running live-action sitcom, by season count, in American TV history.
The show’s success has also meant its talented stars have also amassed a great deal of money along the way. Outside of the show, they also have all worked on other shows and movies, and Rob even co-owns the Welsh football club Wrexham A.F.C. with Ryan Reynolds.
We’ve rounded up the main cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and ranked them according to their estimated net worth. Who do you think is worth the most?!
All 16 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are available for streaming on Hulu.

The 2023 Emmys ceremony celebrated 75 years of television by staging reunions of some of your favorite shows, including FX’s long-running comedy “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Cast members Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito came out on stage and poked fun at the Emmy Awards for never nominating them throughout their 16 seasons (and counting), but is that factually correct? Let’s consult the history books!
While it’s true that “Sunny” has never been nominated for any of the main Primetime categories — i.e. series, acting, writing and directing — the half-hour show did actually receive three bids in the little-known category of Best Stunt Coordination for a Comedy Series or Variety Program. “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” lost those three races to Nickelodeon’s “Supah Ninjas” in 2013 and to Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” in 2014 and 2015.

The Fox Network broadcast itself was simply great (more on that below), but I have a severe case of déjà vu after attending Monday night’s 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. It is as if in this vast TV universe of networks, streamers, cable, YouTube and more content that a human being could ever consume, the people who vote for awards have only seen three shows. Am I wrong? Every time I put on my tux and go to an awards show in 2024, meaning the past eight nights, it is always the exact same results for Limited, Comedy and Drama Series. At the Golden Globes it was Beef, The Bear, Succession. At Sunday night’s Critics Choice Awards it was Beef, The Bear, Succession. At the Emmys it was – you guessed it – Beef, The Bear, Succession.

The cast of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” has a bone to pick with the Emmys: They want an award.
Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito took the stage Monday night to present the award for Outstanding Talk Series.
“What an honor it is to be here at the 75th Emmy Awards,” Olson began.
“Wait, what?” Howerton interjected. “Seventy-five years? The show’s been on for 75 years? We’ve been on the air since 2005. I’ve never been here.”
“Have you guys been doing this every single year without us?” Day then asked.
“They do. They get dressed up. They give each other awards,” McElhenney said. “And 16 seasons we’ve never even presented before.”
Day then asked DeVito if the Emmys have ever given him an award, to which the man behind Frank Reynolds casually said, “Yeah.”

Kaitlin Olson has literally put her blood, sweat, and tears into the 16 seasons and counting of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." The actress has been a main cast member since the boundary-pushing comedy series first started airing on FX back in 2005. Her performance as Sweet Dee has been a major highlight of the show as well as the actress' career, and it's no accident — the actress is incredibly hardworking and talented. Unfortunately, Olson had her own fair share of accidents on set. On one unlucky shoot, the actress sustained an injury so severe that she had to be rushed to the hospital.
"Like, I went to the emergency room this year," she revealed to Yahoo News in 2013. "I ripped my leg completely wide open on a steel grate that we were running on. It was a mess. Poor Glenn [Howerton] was like, 'I'm sorry, I have to walk away. I can't see this.

The 16 seasons and counting of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are filled to the brim with unforgettable moments, from a musical proposal to Frank bursting out of a couch. However, it seems the one thing the internet will truly never let die is Charlie's Pepe Silvia monologue in the season 4 episode "Sweet Dee Has a Heart Attack."
In this misadventure, Charlie and Mac get office jobs working in a mailroom in order to secure health insurance. When Charlie attempts to deliver mail to Pepe Silvia, an employee who seemingly does not exist, the mystery drives him to pin up the mail on a corkboard connected by string, much like a detective solving a murder case. When Mac returns to the mail room from impersonating another employee upstairs, he finds Charlie embroiled in this conspiracy, chainsmoking cigarettes and ranting about Pepe Silvia in a now-famous monologue that has since been memed millions of times over.

"Charlie Work" is easily one of the most memorable episodes in the 16 seasons and counting of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Some of the episodes are best remembered for their off-color jokes, like "The Gang Makes Lethal Weapon 6," but other times, it's the scope of the episode that garners attention, like the ambitious musical episode "The Nightman Cometh," or the unforgettable holiday special "A Very Sunny Christmas." Even so, perhaps the most impressive technical feat of all is the one-shot wonder that is "Charlie Work."
The season 10 episode follows Paddy's Pub's resident ghoul fan Charlie Kelly as he tries to pass the bar's health inspection while the other members of the gang get up to no good, wrapped up in a scheme involving steaks, airline miles, and live chickens. The episode presented lots of technical challenges at every turn, the first of which was writing an episode that unfolds in...

Christopher Rosen: Hello, Joyce! "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has managed to stay on the air longer than any other live-action sitcom in television history because it constantly one-ups itself. Every episode is more extreme than the one before. The show has aired for 16 seasons and counting, yet it has never stopped taking big swings.
By season 7, the series creators wanted to continue to challenge themselves and make themselves laugh. So they came up with an outlandish and offensive premise — a child's beauty pageant that takes place in a bar. It might sound like one of the most inappropriate things to ever air on television, but of course, that's their bread and butter on "Sunny." However, series creator Glenn Howerton insists that the point of the show is not to push boundaries.
"The way the show is talked about, it's as if that's our goal, or that our goal is to push the boundaries of what's decent or whatever,...

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a fan-favorite show after 16 seasons!

There is an unwritten rule with live-action TV shows that the cast members must get more attractive over time. Sometimes, this is an intentional choice meant to signal the character's growing confidence; Peggy from "Mad Men" and Elliot from "Scrubs" both certainly come to mind, with their haircuts and outfits becoming far more stylish as they advanced through their careers. Other times, the change is just the result of the actors having way more money to spend on their appearance as a result of the show's success. Suddenly, they have easy access to plastic surgery, hair transplants, expensive skincare routines, personal trainers, and nutritionists. For Rob McElhenney, this pattern was a little too played out. As he told Collider in a 2011 interview:
"I have never seen a sitcom in which the actors progressively got worse looking, which is, I think, truer to life, especially the lives that these characters lead.
