The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion crowned just one winner as its champion at the end of the final.
While Emanuel Neagu was the Season 39 winner after crossing the finish line first, many viewers and fans feel Nurys Mateo should have been named a winner.
Of the cast members who qualified for the final, she had been the only one who entered any eliminations before getting there.
Nurys won two in a row, eliminating four of her castmates before reaching the final, which seemed to indicate she earned it more than her fellow finalists.
In addition, she crossed the finish line at the final in second place, before Colleen Schneider, Berna Canbeldek, or Corey Lay, and many fans feel a woman should have also won Season 39.
Former show winner Derrick Kosinski agrees with that notion, as he recently commented on how the season ended, even comparing Nurys to a few of his Og castmates.

The Challenge: World Championship episode 5 ended with a stalemate that resulted in Ben Driebergen and Kaycee Clark seemingly getting blindsided into elimination. Ben might have unintentionally put them in the Arena by not voting for Jordan Wiseley and Kaz Crossley, as he previously told Danny McCray. However, it’s possible Ben didn’t cause the stalemate because Jodi Weatherton claimed it would have been prevented if one of her allies voted with her and Team Australia.
‘The Challenge: World Championship’ episode 5 ended in a stalemate
When Wes Bergmann and Zara Zoffany placed last in The Challenge: World Championship episode 5, the rest of the cast took the opportunity to throw in another strong team to face them in the Arena.
However, they couldn’t agree on who, resulting in a stalemate. Therefore, it gave daily winners Darrell Taylor and Kiki Morris all the power to throw any team they wanted into elimination.

The Challenge duo Darrell Taylor and Kiki Morris blindsided Ben Driebergen and Kaycee Clark into elimination. During the episode, the duo refused to explain why. However, Ben says they eventually told him. Additionally, he responded to Danny McCray’s commentary about him and called his former ally “two-faced” for behaving differently to his face.

In The Challenge: World Championship episode 5, the house came to a stalemate when one side wanted to throw in Jordan Wiseley and Kaz Crossley while the other tried to get Emily Seebohm and Yes Duffy into the Arena.
Therefore, the daily winners, Team Australia’s Kiki Morris and Darrell Taylor, could pick any team to face Wes Bergmann and Zara Zoffany in elimination.

Survivor champs Ben Driebergen and Sarah Lacina were close during season 40 but appeared to drift apart during The Challenge: USA. The two have returned for World Championship, where they’ve fully turned on each other. Ben clarified the “rift” between the formerly close allies in a podcast.

The Challenge: Australia champ Kiki Morris didn’t watch the MTV franchise before competing in World Championship. Therefore, her decision to pick four-time champ Darrell Taylor had nothing to do with his historic run on the show.
Kiki Morris explains why she chose Darrell Taylor as a partner in ‘The Challenge: World Championship’
The Challenge: Australia winner Kiki Morris was the fourth female global Mvp to pick a legend, and she chose four-time champ Darrell Taylor after Wes Bergmann, Jordan Wiseley, and Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio were already selected.
In a March 2023 interview with The Challenge Chronicles, the Australian reality TV star admitted she hadn’t watched the show before and didn’t know anyone’s prior accolades before heading into the season. Based on their conversation after the qualifier, she chose the only player to win four seasons in a row.

Four-time The Challenge champ Darrell Taylor hasn’t competed with rookie teammates much in his two-decade career. However, when he does, they’ve gone on to become champions. Will Australia’s Kiki Morris continue the tradition?
Cara Maria Sorbello became a champion after partnering with Darrell Taylor
Out of the 10 seasons in The Challenge flagship and three seasons of spinoff All Stars, four-time champ Darrell Taylor has only worked with a partner a handful of times.
After winning back-to-back seasons with Team Road Rules, he notched his third win as part of Team Good Guys. During his fourth season, the California native partnered with newcomer Aviv Melmed where he secured another victory.

The Challenge two-time champ Jonna Mannion was the first Challenge legend off the board in World Championship when Australia standout Grant Crapp drafted her. In a recent interview, she admitted she considers the players from the Australian franchise the players to beat and explained why.
