- Jenny Eclair was born on March 16, 1960 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is an actress and writer, known for Skins (2007), The Mark Steel Lectures (2003) and Packing Them In (1992).

- Won the Edinburgh Festival's coveted Perrier Award for comedy. She has one daughter, Phoebe born in 1989, with long-term partner Geof Powell. Her dad was an army major. She has one brother and one sister who are both barristers. She studied drama at the old Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre. She became a "punk poet" in the early 1980s and adopted the name Eclair when pretending to be French in a Blackpool (England) nightclub. She was in a band called Cathy La Creme and the Rum Babes in the early 1980s. She is writing a novel called "Camberwell Beauty" which will be published in November 2000.
