Jayson Dinsmore has been upped to senior vp alternative development at NBC Entertainment.
In his new position, Dinsmore will shepherd the network's unscripted development and oversee a team of executives that includes Jenny Ellis, who has been promoted to manager alternative programming. Dinsmore also will continue to spearhead the upcoming launches of "Phenomenon" with Criss Angel and Uri Geller as well as Mark Burnett's "Amne$ia."
"Jayson is an incredibly talented executive and has been an integral part of developing and shepherding many of NBC's successful alternative series, including 'Deal or No Deal' and the summer hit, 'The Singing Bee'," said exec vp alternative programming, development and specials Craig Plestis, to whom Dinsmore reports. "He's the perfect person to lead our creative charge."
Dinsmore joined NBC's alternative department in 2000 as a coordinator and has rose through the ranks to vp, a position he held for the past three years. Other series he developed and managed include "1 vs. 100", "Last Comic Standing" and "Identity".
Ellis, who has been upped from alternative development associate, now handles "The Biggest Loser", "Celebrity Apprentice" and "Phenomenon".
