The second day of Robert Kirkman’s mini-trial over profits from The Walking Dead started with fireworks over who knew what and when – and not over the millions of dollars the creator of the long-running and highly successful zombie apocalypse series claims AMC swindled out of him and other executive producers.

Who died at Negan’s famed barbed-wire baseball bat “Lucille”? “The Walking Dead” fans will finally find out on Oct. 23.
AMC announced the show’s Season 7 premiere date Friday at San Diego Comic-Con. “The Walking Dead” returns at 9 p.m. Et that night, followed by “Talking Dead” (10 p.m.) and “Comic Book Men” (Midnight).
Like past years, AMC will split the season into two parts: Eight episodes will air this fall, and eight episodes will air in February 2017.
The producers, of course, wouldn’t even hint at who Negan may have offed. But they promised fans will be riveted.
“It’s absolutely worth the wait,” executive producer Robert Kirkman said. “It’s a fantastic premiere to a fantastic season.”
Gimple revealed that another “Walking Dead” graphic novel setting, the Kingdom, will be seen this season. Khary Payton has been cast as Ezekiel, their leader.

It's a shame AMC only made six episodes for the first season of "Fear the Walking Dead." "The Walking Dead" companion series was just getting good.
The Season 1 finale, "The Good Man," was really good -- action-packed, tense, emotional, surprising, and filled with tons of walkers. One main character was bitten -- Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez), the ex-wife of Travis (Cliff Curtis) and mother to Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) -- and Travis shot her before she turned. But the season ended on a hopeful note as the group followed enigmatic smooth-talker Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) to his swanky ocean-front digs and prepared to join him on an even swankier yacht.
They went to the coast. They were going on a boat. This is what T-Dog (IronE Singleton) always wanted on "The Walking Dead."
You may recall how that Atlanta character occasionally brought up the idea of heading east to the coast.

AMC announced on Monday (March 9) that the currently untitled "Walking Dead" companion pilot has been given a two-season series order. Following in the footsteps of the "Walking Dead" mothership, the first season for the "Walking Dead" companion will be six episodes and will premiere in late-summer 2015. David Erickson wrote the pilot with Robert Kirkman and will serve as showrunner for the ongoing series, which will star Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam and more. AMC is sticking to what they have had success with, which means The Walking Dead spinoff has two seasons booked. Yes, the still untitled series has slowly been shaping up in time for the network to pick up to air along with The Walking Dead. The first season will premier during this summer closer to the fall with a 6 episodes season. Other than those two big-ish details, AMC has not released much on what fans can expect yet. Here is what they did have to say about it.
We feel empowered by this two-season commitment, a serious show of faith from our network partner AMC. I personally take it as a sign that they believe, like we do, that we’ve accomplished our goal of developing something original that can pay tribute to the original show and expand the world I created while at the same time having something new to say with this story.

No more sweat-drenched survivors trudging through forests! The Walking Dead's companion project is taking the zombie apocalypse out of Georgia. Sources confirm TV Line's report that the as-yet-untitled pilot is set in Los Angeles. The scenery shift to the West Coast adds some intriguing setting possibilities: Beaches and the ocean, Hollywood, iconic landmarks, walker celebrities (though the cable show could likely never top Bill Murray in Zombieland), a nearby desert, and a larger metropolis to play with than the original hit's occasional dips into Atlanta. Just because the setting is Los Angeles doesn't guarantee it will be shot there.

Since AMC announced a spinoff series for The Walking Dead, details on production have been scarce to say the least. What we know thus far is that the show will act as a ‘companion series’ to the original – and that’s about it. Now, however, we know who’ll be helming the pilot, as Academy Award winner Adam Davidson has signed on to direct a new group of survivors.

Earlier this month, we learned that AMC had ordered a pilot for a brand-new spinoff show based around The Walking Dead. As the scope of the original show focuses on one specific band of survivors, the aim of this new series is to delve into precisely “what is going on in the zombie apocalypse in other parts of the world.” You can’t really grumble with the idea. There have been many occasions during the main show that fans have pondered, just how are other people dealing with the hordes of the undead? And who might they be?

Sean Cabrera | A Latino male in his early 40s, Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life.
Cody Cabrera | Sean's whip-smart and rebellious teenage son. Known as the angriest kid in town.
Nancy Tompkins | A thirtysomething single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there's an edge to her.
Nick Tompkins | Nancy's screwed up teenage son. He's too old to stay home, too scared to flee.
Ashley Tompkins | Nancy's mostly level-headed teenage daughter. Her ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother's failures. She loves her...

AMC announced Friday that they have ordered a pilot episode for an untitled spin-off to its hugely successful zombie drama "The Walking Dead." The project will be produced by Robert Kirkman, creator of "The Walking Dead" comic books, along with Gale Anne Hurd and Dave Alpert. The pilot was scripted by Kirkman and Dave Erickson, who will also serve as showrunner. Although the title and plot are currently unknown, the show will explore how the zombie apocalypse has affected other parts of the world (the main series is set primarily in and around Atlanta, Georgia). "There are many corners of 'The Walking Dead' universe that remain unseen in the shadows," Kirkman said. "Being given the opportunity to shine a light into those corners and see what lurks out there is an absolute thrill. "I ...

Good news for fans of The Walking Dead, AMC ordered a spin-off series pilot. The untitled project was a thrown around concept for around with AMC making no commitement. But now it appears AMC is ready to take the challenge head on by ordering a pilot episode up. Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Erickson and David Alpert will be working on it. The show will follow a new group of people surviving after the zombie apocalypse takes place. Other than that we do not have much more info on it yet.
AMC seems to be on fire lately with their shows. I suppose they do not want to lose ground on what they worked hard for. I just wonder why they would agree to a show that does not have much to it yet. The show seems to be very iffy and with big goals for The Walking Dead,...

Plans for a spin-off of The Walking Dead first emerged around a year ago, but American cable network AMC are now moving ahead with what is being described as a “companion series” to the zombie drama.
While they haven’t given it a straight to series order like Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul, AMC are apparently planning on picking it up after giving the green light to a pilot episode which will begin production later this year. It will be interesting to see if it ends up being what’s known as a “backdoor pilot”, an introduction episode shown during the second half of The Walking Dead’s fifth season.
The companion series will focus on an entirely new cast of character in an entirely different location.

AMC’s plan to develop a Walking Dead companion series is finally moving forward in the form of a pilot episode. It will be set in the same zombie/walker apocalypse environment as the original show, but will focus on brand new characters in a new location.
So we might learn what other survivors are up to, maybe they have different obstacles to overcome, maybe there is a gang of friends hiding out in a huge boarded up mall until this is all over. I would watch that!
AMC delivered the official announcement today, revealing that Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert will all act as executive producers. Dave Erickson co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman and will also serve as executive producer and showrunner.
Here’s what AMC President Charlie Collier said:

Guess what? AMC has given a pilot order to its currently untitled "Walking Dead" companion series. What? You'd assumed the "Walking Dead" companion series had already just been given a series order? Well, not exactly. Written by Dave Erickson and "Walking Dead" Ep Robert Kirkman, the companion series pilot will shoot in late 2014, with AMC demurring on casting and filming locations. Erickson would serve as showrunner should the project continue to move forward. Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert would all be executive producers. “Almost from the beginning of ‘The Walking Dead’ on AMC, fans have been curious about what is going on in the zombie apocalypse in other parts of the world. In fact, beyond requests for zombie cameos, it’s the question I get asked the most," blurbs AMC President Charlie Collier. “Obviously, we all take our stewardship of the original franchise incredibly seriously and we, along with Robert,...

The Walking Dead comic book creator has spilled a bean or two about progress on season five...
The Walking Dead only left us a fortnight ago, but already thoughts are turning to season five. According to an interview comic book creator and series Executive Producer Robert Kirkman, the writing team is currently midway through the fifth run of the zombie apocalypse show.
Kirkman told MTV he has just submitted a script for episode two in the new run, and that the team has "already nailed down what our finale is, and what our overall arc of the season is."
One question comic book readers have for Kirkman and showrunner Scott Gimple is when we can expect to see Negan and 'Lucille' join the show? According to Kirkman, "As far as Negan casting goes, Scott [Gimple] and I are always talking about who we would put in that.

Robert Kirkman, the creator of "The Walking Dead" comics and a producer on the AMC series adaptation, recently spoke with MTV about the upcoming fifth season and where it currently stands. Kirkman says he thinks the just finished fourth season is the strongest so far, and five should continue the trend:
"I just turned in the second episode script for season five, and all the writers are hard at work on their individual episodes. We're pretty much halfway through the fifth season, script-wise. And we've already nailed down what our finale is, and what our overall arc of the season is. The back half of the season is taking shape very quickly, and we'll have all the scripts written by the summer.
It's always interesting the way these things overlap. By the time people have seen the entirety of the season, we're already pretty much done with the writing on...

While Skouras and Winter have had their disagreements on how to effectively take care of Bo, both men have agreed that her powers need to be kept secret. In addition, the rift between Skouras and Zoe over how to handle the other patients at the facility has been steadily growing over the course of the season, in many ways mirroring the rift between Winter and Skouras. This week’s episode brings both of these stories together, as Joshua and Bo collide for the first time in a solid episode that adds more dimension to a number of characters.
The reveal of Zoe’s plans to try and expose Operation Orchestra is an exciting development. In these pursuits, Zoe not only finds herself at odds with Skouras, as expected,...
