- He worked with theaters in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, Ontario, but spent most of his Canadian career in Saskatoon; he was the artistic director of the Persephone Theatre there.
- In 1956, he was one of the thousands who fought in the Hungarian Revolution against the Communist regime. When the revolt was put down, he was forced to flee to Italy. He later moved to Canada, where he worked as a hospital janitor and camera shop clerk. He was eventually able to attend the National Theatre School in Montreal.
- He got his start in drama as a child actor with the Hungarian National Radio. He graduated from the National Theatre and Film School in Budapest, and appeared in numerous stage and film productions.
