Frances Foster was born on June 11, 1924 in Yonkers, New York, USA. She was an actress, known for Clockers (1995), Malcolm X (1992) and Crooklyn (1994). She was married to Robert Stansfield Foster and Morton Goldsen. She died on June 17, 1997 in Fairfax, Virginia, USA.
Trained at the American Theatre Wing in Manhattan, 1949-52. Co-founder of the Negro Ensemble Company, appearing in 25 of its productions between 1967 and 1986. On stage from 1955.
She and Lynne Thigpen were awarded the 1996 Drama Logue Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance for "Having Our Say" at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
