Generation Iron, a semi-sequel to the classic Arnold Schwarzenegger documentary Pumping Iron (the film is exec produced by Jerome Gary, producer on the Schwarzenegger doc), is a documentary film which follows a group of body builders all of whom are competing for the much coveted Olympia title. If they win this, they are officially the greatest body builder in the world. Generation Iron looks at the different techniques used by these competitors to achieve the body of their dreams, and how far they are willing to go to become Mr. Olympia.
This film is a very interesting look at the professional sport of body building, covering a large aspect of the competitor’s lives.

A documentary project we first alerted you to last fall, which features Michael Jai White, and other notables, is complete, and now has an official release date set for September 20th, 2013, likely in limited circulation. It's titled Generation Iron, and is something of a sequel to Pumping Iron, the 1977 film about the world of bodybuilding, focusing on the 1975 Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia competitions, which was maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger's introduction to the world, or at least, the USA. Generation Iron is directed by Vlad Yudin, and is produced by the same folks who brought us Pumping Iron - Jerome Gary, Edwin Mejia, Robin Chang, Eric...

Mickey Rourke will be the voice of a body building documentary titled Generation Iron, for the Vladar Co. The doc is scheduled for release in September.
The film follows the world’s top seven bodybuilders as they compete to bring home the coveted “Mr. Olympia” title. Vlad Yudin is directing and co-producing the film with partner Edwin Mejia for Vladar Co., and in partnership with American Media Inc.
Jerome Gary, who produced the 1977 docudrama Pumping Iron, with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno, is exec producing alongside Ami’s David J. Pecker.
According to THR, this film “explores the widely misunderstood world of bodybuilding.”
Yudin wanted to make a film about body building because he felt there hadn’t been an in-depth account of the sport in a long time.
“There hasn’t been a film dedicated to an in-depth and honest look at the sport of bodybuilding since Pumping Iron,...

As the New York Comic Convention started this Thursday, I was able to get a interview with Vlad Yudin, a Russian filmmaker and producer, who is making Head Smash, a film based on a comic book that Vlad Yudin created himself.
Edwin Mejia, who is producing the film with Vlad Yudin, stated that, “We are basically working on this great visionary piece that Vlad Yudin created with Arcana Comics. Arcana Comics is behind great iconic comics and novels-and Sean O’Rielly is one of the producers on the project as well. Vlad is actually the creator and we’ve been putting this project together for over a year now, and we’re really excited to actually have a first edition feature here today here at Comic-con. So we’re really really excited. .. . Right now, we’ve been putting together the script and making the process with the studios to figure...

“Pumping Iron” producer Jerome Gary’s undeniably goofy 1988 action/farce “Traxx” is typical De Laurentiis buffoonery fueled by radio and voice personality Shadoe Stevens, the man responsible for introducing comic genius Craig Ferguson on The Late Show each and every weeknight on CBS. The film, a spoof of testosterone-driven Rambo-esque vigilante flicks from the 80′s, follows the violent misadventures of former trigger-happy commando Traxx (Stevens), a man who has given up the blood and guts racket for the culinary arts, in particular the creation and distribution of unusual homemade cookies. However, when the man’s baked goods business doesn’t take off the way he’d hoped, Traxx takes a job as a small-town crime exterminator to help fund his quest to create the perfect cookie. Sound ridiculous? Of course it is. “Traxx” packs more shoot-outs, explosions, cliches, and cheesy one-liners into its slim 88 minutes than the entire Pm Entertainment filmography combined.
