Came to Peter Roger's attention when he was seen in the TV series 'Ivanhoe' (1958) with Roger Moore.
He and his wife Anne Stallybrass had a cottage which they called Onedin House, in Dartmouth, Devon. It was used as a filming location in The Onedin Line (1971).
Educated at a boarding school in Great Ayton, North Yorkshire where he appeared in school plays.
As a variety artist he stooged for Frank Sinatra, Danny Kaye and his favourite, Harry Secombe.
Considered for the roles of Dr. Hans Fallada, Dr. Armstrong, Bukovsky, Sir Percy Heseltine, Lamson, Kelly and the Fatherly Guard in Lifeforce (1985).

Made a record of the hit musical 'Bye Bye Birdie' with Sid James and Michael Sammes. His rendition of 'Put On a Happy Face' was one of the standout tracks.
Theatre work include West End performances in 'Valmouth', and 'Love Doctor'.
One of his favourite roles was MacHeath in 'The Beggars Opera'.
