That first moment you realized film could be art capable of providing a fully nourishing spiritual experience? That perhaps even made you want to become a filmmaker in order to provide that experience to someone else? Just as important: Do you recall the most recent movie that gave you that same feeling or fit of inspiration? Well, in this week’s Survey Says that’s just what we asked: What’s the first movie you saw that you considered a masterpiece… and the most recent?

Do the Gamers know they don't have a monopoly on reality television?
The second season of The Traitors is a cultural experience -- it's the Megatron of reality television. It has so much built-in reality TV lore and glory that it's no wonder it sets social media on fire.
Honestly, it's the Olympics of reality television and absolutely delicious for understanding every facet of how the genre and its respective fandoms work.
It's the Super Bowl of reality greatness. While some kinks still need to be worked out with the series, from formatting to editing and plenty in between, The Traitors U.S. understands the assignment and deserves to be the hit that it is.
All renditions of The Traitors are positively devourable for various reasons. The savagery of The Traitors U.K. is epic all on its own, and The Traitors Australia has fascinating gameplay.
But The Traitors U.

Every day on a film set is a new adventure. Like if your romantic leads suddenly decide they hate each other. Or the set floods. Or the number of pages needing to be shot out in one day seemingly exceeds the number of known stars in the universe. Other times these adventures are much happier. A child actor reveals a hidden talent for drone photography. You work with a legendary actor. You get to watch the Berlin Philharmonic perform from Lydia Tarr’s proprietary vantage point. According to a wide-ranging cross-section of our Film Independent Fellows, all these moments, plus a whole lot more, constitute their “best day ever” on set.

Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get underway this year with the release of three new tentpole films and twice as many Disney+ shows. Bringing up the rear on the TV side of things is "Agatha: Coven of Chaos," which rolls cameras in Atlanta next week and is due for a late 2023 release
Ahead of its production start, "Agatha: Coven of Chaos" (formerly titled "Agatha: House of Harkness") has now locked in its directors, according The Hollywood Reporter.
A spin-off of Marvel's very first Disney+ series, "WandaVision," "Agatha: Coven of Chaos" centers on Kathryn Hahn's character, Agatha Harkness, who spent much of her previous screen time disguising herself as Wanda's nosy neighbor, Agnes. It was only toward the end of the seventh episode of "WandaVision" that viewers learned Agnes/Agatha's true witchy nature, to the tune of the Emmy-winning, retro-sitcom jingle "Agatha All Along.

Abubakr Ali, the titular star of the recently canceled Netflix series Grendel, is speaking out about the show’s cancellation and what it means for Muslim representation on the screen.
In Grendel, Ali became the first Arab Muslim male actor to portray a series lead in a comic book adaptation. Earlier this week, Netflix revealed it would not be moving forward with the series. The decision was made after Grendel had done the bulk of its filming but the series was not finished, so there is currently a partial eight-episode season in the can. Producers have the option to shop the series.
In a post on Instagram, Ali noted that “Despite making up 24 percent of the world’s population, Muslim actors only make up 1 of speaking characters on TV.”

The fourth and likely final season of Lifetime’s UnReal is moving to Hulu.
Lifetime sold the fourth season of the drama from Sarah Gertrude Shapiro and Marti Noxon to Hulu for first run, Deadline has confirmed. A+E Studios made money on the deal with Hulu and there are no expectations for Lifetime to order another season. That could change however, if the show does well on Hulu, it could be renewed, according to those familiar with the deal. Hulu is already the Svod home for the drama series.
The critically praised UnReal does not do well in linear, but it’s a popular show for binging and gets a bump in digital viewing, which is a perfect fit for Hulu. Season 3, which wrapped in April on Lifetime, has yet to air on Hulu.

We've passed the midpoint of UnREAL Season 3 and it feels like the perfect time to think about why we fell back in love with the beloved series.
Of course, it's all about the loving, albeit dysfunctional relationship between Quinn and Rachel, the rise and fall of cast and crew, the first ever husband hunt, and hmmm ... what else?
Oh yeah! The smokin' hot suitors vying for Serena.
Guess what, UnREAL Fanatics? The man candy upon which you feasted your eyes at the beginning of the season makes a long-awaited reappearance on UnREAL Season 3 Episode 6!
At this point, the men have traded in their swim trunks for athletic shorts. But trust me, the scenery on land is Almost as good as at it was by the pool!
Told you so.
As Serena’s husband hunt intensifies, the suitors reach a fork in the Everlasting road. The time has come for each...

Dear August,
How we've lusted after you and your man bun!
So much, in fact, that each of us has either had, almost had or still wants to have, a piece of you.
Yet at this juncture, we find ourselves on the verge of change.
Hope you had a few good nights' sleep in that hammock.
Because as of now, it's Game On!
- Quinn, Rachel, and Serena
On UnREAL Season 3 Episode 4, the formidable fight for the Suitress takes an aggressive turn when Madison discovers August's severed man bun.
The first sign of impending war, it indicates a palpable shift of energy both on camera and behind the scenes.
"Bunghazi" and the Dumb-Ass idea of an on-set reporter become the two slices of bread holding this Everlasting sandwich together.
But the meat of this meal is the forward movement of our main characters -- as Rachel, Quinn, Serena, Jay...

Scandalous secrets ... Not-so-white lies ... Cast and crew still fired up over feminism. Only this time, it’s Quinn who feels the burn … right between her legs. Oh damn!
That's right TV Fanatics; the UnREAL gods gifted us with yet another insane installment of UnREAL Season 3!
It may look like everyone's getting along, but on UnREAL Season 3 Episode 3, Quinn is exposed, Rachel (re)turns into a liar, and Serena's made a fool all in one fell swoop!
Not to mention, there's a new storyline development that's so shocking, we're still just taking it in (insert Jay and Alexi joke here)!
While things are going sideways behind the scenes, poor Serena is still trying to land a damn husband on camera.

If you were at all worried that UnREAL Season 3 started off Smokin' Hot, but might quickly cool down, it's safe to say things have only gotten hotter!
On UnREAL Season 3 Episode 2 that show within a show is more complex than ever. With the Suitress finding her groove on Everlasting, it’s all about how Serena’s going to play the game to land her husband.
Behind the scenes, we get a more in-depth dive into a few of the relationships, most notably Rachel and Quinn’s.
On set, they are mentor and mentee, boss and second in command. Yet beyond their professional connection lies a great deal of love and respect between the women in charge. They really do need and love each other. No doubt, Rachel, and Quinn share a (rather dysfunctional) mother/daughter relationship.
That is why what happens next is so incredibly f**ked up; because you...

The craftiest women in fictional reality television may have finally met their match on “UnREAL.” The third season of Lifetime’s most addictively meta-theatrical drama will feature a female “suitress” named Serena, played by cast addition Caitlin FitzGerald (“Masters of Sex”). FitzGerald’s character poses new challenges for power players Rachel Goldberg (Shiri Appleby) and Quinn King (Constance Zimmer), who battled for control of the fictional dating show “Everlasting” during the first two seasons. In the trailer, Serena has ideas of her own about how to run the ship, and Rachel and Quinn must step up their game if they want to stay in power. If the slow takes of the many male contestants slowly disrobing are any indication, the queen bees of “Everlasting” will also struggle to keep things strictly professional.

Earlier this year, Shiri Appleby fulfilled a goal she’d laid out for network executives while filming the pilot for Lifetime’s UnREAL: to direct an episode of the hit series. “I told them all that I’ve already done the work and was really hoping for the opportunity,” says Appleby, who plays weary reality dating competition producer Rachel Goldberg on the Bachelor-inspired drama.
Stepping behind the camera, the actress helmed the season-two episode “Casualty,” making her prime-time directorial debut. But this wasn’t merely a vanity project to appease a network star. For Appleby, it’s a next step in her career that she’s been working toward ever since the CW series Life Unexpected was canceled in 2011.
Still most famous for playing Liz Parker on Roswell at the time, Appleby was ready to take more control over her career. “I started feeling like I was capable of doing more than just acting,” she tells Et...

Lifetime's UnREAL TV series -- the scripted satire of "reality" dating shows -- has started its own franchise. The first UnREAL TV show spinoff will be a web series built around the fictional Everlasting dating show contestant, Faith, from the first season of UnREAL. UnREAL is from Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Marti Noxon and The Bachelor's Sarah Gertrude Shapiro.
Virginal conservative Christian and closeted lesbian, Faith (Breeda Wool), is in love with her hometown best friend, Amy (Malea Mitchell). During the first season of UnREAL, it takes the sympathetic yet manipulative hand of Shiri Appleby's Rachel Goldberg, under the iron-fisted reign of Constance Zimmer's Quinn King, for Faith to come out. With submissions ranging from countries like Italy and Nepal to as short as several minutes to feature length films, every aspect of storytelling has been covered within the 2015 Soho International Film Festival . With awards given to the best of the best at the festival, it was a great close to another successful year for the festival.

"UnREAL" - PilotThe entirety of Lifetime's hit original series starring Constance Zimmer and Shiri Appleby satirizes competition dating and is set against the backlot of a hit "Bachelor"-type show called "Everlasting." From co-creators Marti Noxon and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, Appleby stars as Rachel Goldberg, a jaded, but extremely talented reality television producer who finds herself stooping lower and lower to maximize the show's drama. The pilot episode introduces us to Rachel, who — under the unscrupulous demands of lead producer Quinn King (Constance Zimmer) — helps manipulate "Everlasting" contestants into acting in ways that would increase the salaciousness and, consequently, the entertainment value of the episodes. We're also introduced to what "UnREAL" is all about in a scene where Rachel exploits a contestant's past as a battered wife to coax her into approaching the season's "suitor." It gets darker from there....

Without a doubt, the best new show of this summer has been Lifetime’s UnREAL, the dark, challenging, Bachelor-skewering drama that boasts two terrific lead performances from Shiri Appleby as conflicted Everlasting producer Rachel Goldberg and Constance Zimmer as her intense but also vulnerable boss, Quinn King. Throughout its first six episodes, UnREAL has essentially received universal acclaim from critics, and that, along with the fact that it brings in a younger audience for Lifetime, has helped earn the fantastic freshman series a second season renewal. Lifetime announced the news on Monday. “We couldn’t be more proud to bring back UnREAL,” Liz Gateley, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for Lifetime, said in a statement. “With authentically flawed characters, sharp storytelling and impeccable performances, this show is propelling our brand in a truly exciting direction – an unexpected and bolder Lifetime.
