Twitter has launched a new Twitter Index that will track the Oscars buzz on the microblogging site ahead of the 85th Academy Awards next month. The new index will measure and rank conversation about the Oscar-nominated films and actors over the next six weeks up to the ceremony on February 24, 2013, in Los Angeles. During what is generally dubbed "awards season" in the film and TV industry, Twitter is often the conduit for movie fans to discuss who won what, and whether it was justified. In a blog post, Twitter's head of TV Fred Graver revealed that over 4 million tweets were posted on Sunday about the Golden Globes awards ceremony. Backed by the Academy, the Twitter Oscars Index will reflect the "ebb and flow" of movie-related conversations throughout the awards season, showing how positively Twitter users are commentating about the major nominees (more)...

Fox and the social media giant Twitter have teamed to put the third season premiere of Raising Hope online. Today through Sept. 27, the episode will be available via the show’s official Twitter page www.twitter.com/raisinghopefox. The show will be presented without commercials. This represents the first time a full episode of TV has been officially released to play within Twitter itself (rather than, say, a network promoting a link to a player on another site).

Over the course of my 5+ years at Bwe, I’ve written a handful of posts that I didn’t hate immediately after publishing them – I’ve collected them here in what is certain to be the internet’s most important post ever, Danthology: My 15 Favorite Bwe Posts Of All Time. Starting in July, I’ll be moving over to write for Jest.com, where you can expect plenty more transcendent works of art like the above “Best Of The Doors” Photoshop (although if you thought that was bad, just know that it took every fiber of my being not to title my ‘Greatest Hits’ post “Honkin’ On Danbo”.) You can also follow me on Twitter, where my inanity is at least character-limited. And on that note, cue up “Reelin’ In The Years” and let’s Get To The Laffs: 15. If you're a fan of food television, there isn't much chance that you aren't a fan of Anthony Bourdain. No Reservations has proven for years that not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but he can deliver an entertaining show. Along with guest appearances on just about every food show you want to mention, Bourdain is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to food television.
Travel Channel has given the go ahead on a new show, The Layover, which puts a new twist on things. The jumping off point, obviously, is the quick stop visit, and now Bourdain has to deliver the best of a variety of destinations in a hurry.
Check out all the info below, and keep this one in mind. It won't be around until late this year, but don't let it get past you.

The Travel Channel is punching another ticket for Anthony Bourdain.
The "No Reservations" host/author/chef/sometime "Treme" writer will host and executive produce a new series called "The Layover," which is set to premiere in the fall. It's sort of the anti-"No Reservations," with Bourdain spending no more than 48 hours in a city and searching out the best experiences he can in that time.
"This is a chance to show viewers the secrets of Tony's traveling routine: cracking open the essence of each city, getting right to the marrow of every experience, and making the most out of every moment," says Fred Graver, Travel Channel's head of programming. "These shows are not only about finding the best of every city, but they're filled with amazing tips and tricks for where to go, where to stay, where to eat, and how to get around -- as only Tony can share them.

Tonight marks the last episode of VH1's Best Week Ever for 2009. The topical comedy show is taking a much longer-than-usual break. Will it ever return?
Best Week Ever premiered in 2004. With the help of a group of panelists and weekly guest stars, the series puts a comedic spotlight on the week's events in pop culture, celebrity gossip, and Hollywood buzz.
The show was revamped in October 2008 after the show's creator, Fred Graver, left the network in 2007. Regular panelist and stand-up comic Paul F. Tompkins became the center of the series. As is often the case with show overhauls, some viewers like the change and others don't. The show's panelists include Doug Benson, Mike Britt, Judah Friedlander, Rob Huebel, Nick Kroll, Chuck Nice, Melissa Rauch, Paul Scheer, Jessica St. Clair, and Adam Winer.
