Part Archer, part animated digital “motion” comic, the art style of To Your Last Death makes it feel like you’re watching a page of the old Tales From the Crypt come to life in animated form. Though in terms of story To Your Last Death has a lot more in common with the morality plays of British comic strips like The Thirteenth Floor…
After emerging as the sole survivor in a deadly revenge game set up by her dying father to punish his four children, Miriam receives an offer from the Gamemaster, an otherworldly supernatural entity, to go back in time and try again. But the Game master only entraps hapless humans into diabolical conflicts for her species to gamble on the outcome.

"Hell is empty... And the devils are here." Quiver Distribution has unveiled a full-length official trailer for an animated horror-thriller film titled To Your Last Death. It's not that often we ever see any animated horror projects, and it's exciting to watch the animation medium serve up all kinds of different stories. This trippy high concept horror is about a woman named Miriam. In order to save her siblings, she takes on her father and the powerful entity known as "Gamemaster", who ensnares humans into diabolical plots while her species gambles on the outcome. Well that sounds crazy! Dani Lennon voices Miriam, and Morena Baccarin voices the Gamemaster, plus a cast including Ray Wise, Bill Moseley, Florence Hartigan, Damien C. Haas, and William Shatner. The clunky animation style borrows mostly from FX's "Archer", with less character animation and more vivid visuals. I'm not too sure this will good, but it is worth a watch.

Things are about to get bloody. William Shatner narrates the trailer for the new animated film “To Your Last Death,” and his calm and alluring tone of voice will be of just a little comfort for the hyper-violence on display.
The trailer for the “Archer”-style animated film features some twisted, “Saw”-style death traps, brutal attacks with swords, axes, chainsaws and syringes, a woman falling to her death in a spike-filled pit, and even a guy walking around with his brain sliced open.
“Hell is empty, and the devils are here,” Shatner says in a whisper in the trailer.

Director Justin Barber tells his own ‘X-Files’ Story inspired by real-life events.
On Thursday, March 13, 1997 a strange event occurred in the nighttime skies of Phoenix, Arizona. According to thousands of eyewitnesses, a triangular formation of lights were seen in the sky. Some reported seeing stationary lights hovering over Phoenix, which was later identified by the Air Force as flares being dropped from an air craft performing exercises at the nearby Barry Goldwater base. But there were other reports of the triangular formation passing over Arizona towards Nevada and these have never been explained. At the time of the event, Arizona governor Fife Symington famously mocked the event, holding a press conference where he had a staff member dress up like an alien. But years later, he admitted to also seeing the event and admitted there was no explanation for it.

Omg! Phoenix Forgotten looks so scary!:
Based on the shocking, true events of March 13th, 1997, when several mysterious lights appeared over Phoenix, Arizona. This unprecedented and inexplicable phenomenon became known as “The Phoenix Lights”, and remains the most famous and widely viewed UFO sighting in history.
Phoenix Forgotten tells the story of three teens who went into the desert shortly after the incident, hoping to document the strange events occurring in their town. They disappeared that night, and were never seen again. "For decades they've been lying to you." Cinelou Films has released a final trailer for sci-fi horror found footage film Phoenix Forgotten, which is set to open in select theaters later this month (on April 21st). We already featured one teaser trailer for this film previously, as it's a very mysterious found footage feature "based on true events" about kids who go to investigate mysterious lights of Phoenix, Arizona and end up disappearing. It's kind of like The Blair Witch Project, but for UFOs and aliens and something like that. The "unseen footage has finally been discovered, chronicling the final hours of their fateful expedition." The cast includes Florence Hartigan, Chelsea Lopez, Justin Matthews, Luke Spencer Roberts; with Wes Ball, T.S. Nowlin, Ridley Scott, Mark Canton, and Courtney Solomon producing. This certainly looks freaky. Here's the second official trailer for Justin Barber's Phoenix Forgotten, direct from YouTube: Based on the shocking,...

A new trailer has surfaced for the upcoming UFO "found footage" thriller Phoenix Forgotten. The film is being produced by Ridley Scott, which is interesting because I never thought I'd see him get involved with a "found footage" film like this. There's obviously something he saw in the movie that attracted him to it, though.
The film is based on the true-life events that occurred on March 13th, 1997 when several mysterious lights appeared over Phoenix, Arizona. The event is known as "The Phoenix Lights," and it's one of the most famous and massive UFO sightings in history.
The movie basically looks like The Blair Witch Project but with students on the hunt for UFOs instead of an evil witch.

"I shouldn't have brought you guys out here." Cinelou Releasing & Freestyle Releasing have unveiled the first trailer for a mysterious, eerie sci-fi horror film titled Phoenix Forgotten, about a group of kids who disappeared from Phoenix, Arizona in 1997. The "unseen footage has finally been discovered, chronicling the final hours of their fateful expedition." The cast includes Florence Hartigan, Chelsea Lopez, Justin Matthews, Luke Spencer Roberts; with Wes Ball, T.S. Nowlin, Ridley Scott, Mark Canton, and Courtney Solomon producing. On March 13th, 1997, several mysterious lights appeared over Phoenix, Arizona. The event is known as "The Phoenix Lights," and it's one of the most famous and massive UFO sightings in history. This event serves as the inspiration for the found footage movie Phoenix Forgotten, and today we have a teaser trailer for you to watch.
Ridley Scott is producing the film through his Scott Free production, and it involves the producers behind films such as The Martian, 300, and The Maze Runner, so it's got some pretty heavy Hollywood hitters behind it. It just looks like another found footage type film to me, but who knows, maybe there's something more to it than what we're seeing in this teaser.

It seems that every few weeks there’s a new animated feature at the movie theater. This is quite different from my youth, when only Disney made full-length cartoons (that were distributed in Ohio) and they took three to four years to produce.
It seems that every television channel has at least some animated content, a lot of it aimed at grown-ups. This is quite different from my youth, when all cartoons were for kids, and were on networks on Saturday mornings and local channels, maybe for an hour after school.
We can have an interesting conversation about why animation grew up and expanded its audience. Was it the influence of anime? The Baby Boomers loving cartoons so much we refuse to give them up, just like with comic books? The (relative) inexpensive production compared to feature films, especially as computers improved?
Who cares why? More animation means more choices...

Title: Entrance Directors: Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath Starring: Suziey Block, Karen Gorham, Karen Baird, Joshua Grote, Florence Hartigan, Bennett Jones Co-directed by Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath, “Entrance” is a deliberately paced indie offering that bills itself as a psychological thriller but in actuality is a fairly aimless tone piece about twentysomething emotional dislocation that only in its final reel leaps somewhat clumsily into genre-oriented skirmish and combat. As a showcase for narrative restraint and a non-forced lead performance by newcomer Suziey Block, the movie works on a theoretical level, but its grip is a bit too slack and its payoff too pointless to really recommend it.
