Kathryn Hays, who played Kim Hughes on the CBS soap opera “As the World Turns,” from 1972 to 2010, died on March 25 in Fairfield, Connecticut at the age of 87, TVLine reported.

Besides her iconic role on “As the World Turns,” Hays had a memorable turn in the 1968 “Star Trek” episode “The Empath” as Gem, a mute alien who must...

Some Ae readers remember Eric Sheffer Stevens from his days playing doctor on As the World Turns. As the handsome Dr. Reid Oliver, he stole our hearts and took them with him to an unfortunate meeting with a train. Now he is back and he has a new show. AfterElton sat down with him to hear about this new project as well as to talk about his fond memories of being one half of a gay couple on a daytime soap.
AfterElton: Tell us a little bit about the show and about your character.
Eric Sheffer Stevens: The show is really about the two neighbors that live next door to each other--Jamie and Katie’s characters and they are raising daughters by themselves. It’s very frustrating for them and just sort of about the daily struggles of raising a young woman who’s at that age. I’m...

I work in International TV news. I don't always get to choose the stories I report... I take assignments and pitch others. But over the course of the last two weeks, the dominant coverage has not been the tornadoes in the midwest nor President Obama's declaration about MidEast borders. It hasn't even been Kim Kardashian's engagement! It has been, almost nonstop, the end of Oprah Winfrey's 25 year run on Daytime.
Many don't seem to realize that with Own, her eponymous network, she's not really saying goodbye at all. In fact, she's increasing her omnipotence from 1 hour in the afternoon to 24 hours a day. Still, we can't help but wax nostalgic because of the very real "end of an era."

Margaret Colin may be familiar to you from shows like Gossip Girl, Chicago Hope and the canceled-to-soon Now and Again but her TV and film resume are no match for her 25 year stage career. Works by Tennessee Williams (Sweet Bird of Youth), Shakespeare (Hamlet) and Broadway shows, A Day in the Life of Joe Egg and Jackie (where she portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy in her Broadway debut) are just a sampling in her long career.
She’s currently starring as ‘Lady Croom’ in the Broadway revival of Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia. Directed by David Leveaux and also starring Billy Crudup and Raul Esparza, the show shifts in time from 1809 to the present day and features original events as they occurred in the past, and a reconstructed account that is painstakingly pieced together by modern-day historians.

AMC Officially Greenlights Season 5 Of 'Mad Men' For March 2012 Premiere
The upcoming fifth season of Mad Men is now slated to debut in March 2012. That is 17 months from the series' fourth season finale. While the protracted negotiations between Mad Men creator/ exec producer Matt Weiner and AMC/Lionsgate TV led to the series' pushed production start and, in turn, caused the show to miss its original July premiere date, the new March return date is not directly tied to the contract talks. According to sources with knowledge of the negotiations, Weiner had been actually pushing for a shorter gap between Seasons 4 and 5 and had stated that he could get Season 5 produced and delivered on budget for a 2011 premiere.
