Frank Turner has officially broken the world record for the most shows live shows played in 24 hours.
The English artist played 15 independent shows across 15 different cities in a 24 hour period on Saturday, May 4th. He had previously accomplished a similar feat back in 2009, where he played 24 shows in 24 hours — but all in the greater London area, and in an “unofficial” fashion. He also toured all 50 states in the US in the span of 50 dates in 2022. Now, in honor of the Music Venue Trust (Mvt), Turner played 15 independent shows each in a different town, with tickets sold by independent record shops.
The Mvt’s rules for the world record attempt stipulated that Turner was to perform for a minimum of 15 minutes with at least 25 audience members present, and he couldn’t repeat any previously-played venues during the trek. He began the feat on Saturday with a show in Liverpool and worked...

Frank Turner hit the road hard this weekend, seeking to break the world record for most shows played in multiple cities in the span of 24 hours. And the U.K. musician succeeded by playing 15 sets between May 4 and 5, though his feat has not yet been officially verified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
He beat the previous world record held by Hunter Hayes, who performed 10 concerts in different cities in 24 hours back in 2014. Prior to Hayes, Flaming Lips were the record-holders with eight shows in 2012.

Frank Turner will attempt to break the world record for the most shows played in different cities in 24 hours. Set to hit the road on May 4th for one jam-packed rotation of the Earth, he’ll perform 15 shows across the UK, wrapping up mid-day on May 5th.
The event arrives in support of a few things. For starters, Turner will be releasing a new album, Undefeated, on May 3rd via Xtra Mile Recordings. Beyond that, the jaunt will be executed in partnership with Music Venue Trust, with each the shows hosted at grassroots music venues and independent record stores.
Fans planning to attend one of Turner’s record-breaking shows can expect a set that’s at least 20 minutes long. Tickets for the jaunt are available in several options, including stand-alone tickets and bundles with physical copies of Undefeated. Head to Turner’s website to purchase tickets.

During Thursday night’s inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards, Blake Shelton was crowned the social country star of 2023 — a win that puzzled the country legend, to say the least.
“I moved to Nashville in 1994 and man, I had a lot of dreams — this was not one of them,” Shelton said as he received his award at the Thursday night ceremony. “I don’t even know what this means, but if the fans want me to have it, I’m damn well going to put it on my mantle.”
Shelton continued by thanking his country music fans, and relishing in the glory of his new title, jokingly saying “that’s right, social media.”
The awards ceremony, which aired live from Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House on NBC, also recognized the country star with several other nominations for the night’s awards, including the people’s artist of 2023, male artist...

“The Masked Singer” has arrived at its 10th season, and it’s celebrating big all season long — with some help from a member of newly reunited (if only just temporarily?) *Nsync, a star of “The Office,” and several famous alums.
TheWrap can exclusively reveal that Lance Bass and Kate Flannery (Meredith from “The Office”) are among the show’s special surprise clue givers this season. Now, will they have any connection to those who are competing? That part remains unclear for now, but as always, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
Kelly Osbourne, who competed as Ladybug in the second season of “The Masked Singer,” will also help give out some clues this season, along with NFL wide receiver and free agent DeSean Jackson, “Snake Oil” host David Spade, and Poppy and Branch from “Trolls” for a special episode themed to the movie.

11 August 2023 – Today, symphonic pop extraordinaire Cody Fry has released his beautifully uplifting single, “What If,” out now via Decca Records US/Universal Music Canada. The moving track appears on the Grammy-nominated artist’s forthcoming album, The End, out September 15.
On “What If,” Cody invites us to look inside his mind as he works to ameliorate his anxious thoughts. We find Cody in a painfully relatable moment where he is envisioning the worst possible outcome for a situation. Throughout the course of the song, Cody begins to shut down his trepidations and adopt a more optimistic approach, proclaiming “Maybe the fear just means I’m alive. Maybe I’ll fall, but what if I fly?” Inspired by his personal experiences with anxiety, Cody explains, “The song begins in a place of anxiety, but it uses this strategy I’ve developed from going to therapy. Anxiety is looking at the worst possible outcome of any given situation.

The recording industry has certainly transformed since 98 Degrees came onto the scene 25 years ago, but one thing remains the same: "There's still some great music being made," Nick Lachey tells Popsugar. Ahead of a 98 Degrees reunion concert at all-inclusive resort Beaches Turks & Caicos in late August, the R&b group chat with Popsugar about nostalgia's impact on their revival, all things '90s boy bands, and what members Nick and Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre have been up to since they first started adorning posters.
Last summer, the band released new music for the first time in eight years: an upbeat track called "Where Do You Wanna Go" that was "great for the moment." "Everybody had been in lockdown for so long, and when things were opening back up, we thought the song was incredibly catchy and just represented fun," Jeffre says. "Everybody was ready to get back out and have some fun.

“The Masked Singer” finale concluded on Wednesday night with Queen of Hearts winning the Golden Mask and defeating Bull in one of the closest votes in the history of the Fox reality TV competition. Bull gave an inspiring performance of “You Gotta Be” by Des’ree and a stunning, stripped-down rendition of “Invisible” by Hunter Hayes, but it wasn’t enough to dethrone the Queen of Hearts. The hooved singer was then forced to unmask in front of America and reveal himself as singer-songwriter and choreographer, Todrick Hall.
While Todrick fell short on his journey, Nicole Scherzinger won her first Golden Ear trophy when her first impression guess of Todrick was revealed. With three points this season, Nicole defeated fellow panelists Ken Jeong (2 points), Robin Thicke (1 point) and two-time Golden Ear champ Jenny McCarthy (1 point). Cmc Pictures has released Chinese singer-songwriter Saji‘s soulful pop ballad “Kill My Lies,” a new English song launching in support of newly released fantasy action film A Writer’S Odyssey. Inspired by the fairytale phrase “once upon a time,” the song opens with a Middle-Age fairytale feeling that shifts into a darker, lovesick chorus that, like the film, ruminates on the harm that can come from being unable to give up the past and live truly in the present. “Kill My Lies” was produced by Tommee Profitt.
Of her inspiration behind the song, Saji shared, “Every fairytale starts with ‘once upon a time,’ a recollection of the past. But sometimes, what we need is in the present. ‘Kill My Lies’ asks each of us to unwrap the bandages of lies that hold us back. Always have hope, and always keep believing.”

After 15 unmaskings so far on “The Masked Singer” Season 3, Jenny McCarthy stands atop the judges’ leaderboard in terms of correct guesses. She’s expertly named six of the costumed celebrities throughout the season, compared to five apiece for Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger, and just one for Ken Jeong. Jenny’s secret weapon was guessing that Jordyn Woods was hiding behind the Kangaroo mask in the face-offs, as she was the only panelist who predicted that shocking reveal. We’re keeping track of the judges’ scores all season long, so scroll down to see the updated tallies.

Talk about prescient: “The Masked Singer” was all about covering up before masks were cool… or mandatory. “It’s the safest show if you’re a celebrity,” quips executive producer Craig Plestis. “We give you masks. It’s a little bit the tagline we’re using: Protect you protect your identity and your health.”
Now, as Season 3 of “The Masked Singer” ends its run with a two-night finale on Tuesday and Wednesday night, the world is in a very different place than it was when the season began back in February.
“I think the Masked Singer weathered the storm of this pandemic but also kind of kept America together a little bit,” Plestis tells Variety. “I really believe Masked Singer was this respite for an hour out of all the trauma that everyone is going through. This is the time we can bond with everyone that’s in the house right now.

That sound you hear are millions of “The Masked Singer” fans gasping in shock. At long last, Ken Jeong made his first correct guess for Season 3 during the semi-finals when he named baseball star Barry Zito as the Rhino. “The Masked Singer” unmasked and eliminated another contestant on this week’s episode, the final one ahead of the Season 3 finale next week. That competitor was the Rhino, who turned out to be former professional baseball player Barry Zito. He said he’s “just as shocked as anybody” that he made it to “The Masked Singer” semifinals.
“I learned in my baseball career that setting goals is great, but being a little too obsessed with results can put me in a dark place. I know that about myself,” Zito told TheWrap. “So my only goal going in was to truly enjoy the experience and not be too caught in winning or being first place.

Season 3 of The Masked Singer was one small step for Astronaut, but a giant leap for the man inside the shiny suit: singer/songwriter Hunter Hayes, who left the show Wednesday. (Read a full recap.)
Taking part in the oddball music competition “gave me the chance to live two lives at once,” says Hayes, the wunderkind who performed on Rosie O’Donnell’s daytime talk show and America’s Most Talented Kids and is now a 28-year-old country artist/multiple Grammy nominee. “It was hilarious. Because I would head off first thing in the morning and do the show, and it blew the doors wide open.

‘The Masked Singer': Astronaut Reveals ‘Little Hints’ He Gave Fans Through the Colors of His Costume
(Warning: This post contains spoilers for tonight’s “Masked Singer” episode.)
Country music star Hunter Hayes was revealed to be the Astronaut when he was eliminated and unmasked on Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer.” And now that he’s rocketed off the Fox singing competition’s third season, Hayes was finally able to talk to TheWrap about his time on the show, including why he picked his out-of-this-world costume to begin with.
“I signed up for the show as early as I could, so I had the benefit of getting to look at multiple different costumes and masks,” the singer told us. “I was honestly between two, I was between the Robot [which ended up being taken by Lil Wayne] and the Astronaut. I felt like the Robot was kind of part of my past story, but the more we talked about it the more I realized the Astronaut is way more, I’ll say relatable. But what...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 3, episode 14 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired April 29 on Fox.
Hunter Hayes is no longer “Wanted” on “The Masked Singer.” The country singer was the latest star to be unmasked on the hit Fox reality competition series, having been disguised as the Astronaut.
For his final performance, Hayes performed “Story of My Life” by One Direction on Wednesday night’s episode.
Hayes told Variety that he took the “Masked Singer” gig because, coincidentally, his next album — the second in his “Wild Blue” trilogy — will focus on themes of “the unknown and embracing the unknown.”
“It was a great chance for me to step out of my comfort zone and try new things in a safe place — even though it airs on national TV,” Hayes said. “I think being behind a mask gave me confidence and gave me the chance to really push myself.
