This year's San Diego Comic-Con revealed Copperhead as one of Black Mask's assassins in the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins , but the lastest issue of Official Xbox Magazine has all the details on another villain: The Mad Hatter.Though not officially part of the "assassins" group, Hatter will appear as a side mission in the game, much like he did in "Arkham City," but this time around he's kidnapped a woman to be his new "Alice" and the dark knight has to traverse through an Arkham-inspired Wonderland to rescue her. "Mad Hatter is a character we loved in Arkham City," says creative director Eric Holmes. "We loved his presence, and we really wanted to do more with him. When we realized we wanted to bring him back, we also...

Warner Bros extended E3 presentation shows a glut of gameplay from Batman: Arkham Origins...
You may have already seen the E3 trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins, but below you'll find the full extended gameplay presentation, in case you missed it earlier. This demo shows off the new Gotham City environs, along with some of the new features, including the greatly enhanced detective gameplay.
This is much more involved than previous additions, and can be used to rewind time to find out what happened in various situations, such as discovering why a police chopper crashed, and who attacked it. It's much more impressive than before, and should allow for some interesting encounters.
Dynamic crimes will offer easy to very difficult challenges at any time, with some situations you may need to avoid until you level up, with some greatly challenging your combat prowess.

The next entry in the "Arkham" game is taking an unexpected cue from another film for its music: Die Hard . Speaking with Game Informer , Eric Holmes, the creative director for Batman: Arkham Origins , says the Christmas setting for the game will be taken into account for the music, specifically the use of sleigh bells. "One of our inspirations for that is Die Hard, which I think is one of the greatest movies ever made, but it's also a Christmas movie, right? One thing they use in there is whenever McClane has an idea you hear the Christmas bells. So the moment for example when he has the two bullets left for his pistol and he knows Hans has his wife... then you see the Chirstmas tape and the camera punches in. You hear the same thing just before he...

Warner Bros. Montreal has already officially broken the silence on the next installment to the Arkham franchise with the announcement of Batman: Arkham Origins. Yet, it seems that many fans are still uneasy about Rocksteady’s development roll being handed off to a new developer.
What may very well be worrying most fans of the Arkham franchise though is that the story will not center around the likes of Batman’s most famous villains. Instead, WB Montreal has elected to focus on one of the most sadistic members of the Gotham City Underworld, Black Mask.
Game Informer recently shed some light on why the Black Mask is a formidable nemesis that will challenge Batman to face his own code of ethics in the wake of the masked menace’s reign of terror.
Black Mask’s center spotlight will show gamers why he is a mastermind of crime in the Gotham City of Arkham Origins.

A little-known (outside of comics readership, at least) nut in a skull mask will be the heavy in October's "Arkham Origins" according to a piece in Game Informer.
GI's write-up provides a rough sketch of "legitimate" businessman/secret crime boss Roman Sionis' role in "Batman: Arkham Origins." In the game, as head of the Janus Comsmetic company, Sionis hides his control of the shady goings-on in Gotham City, keeping his well-manicured mitts in all of the local criminal activity. "Arkham Origins" creative director Eric Holmes explains that “He’s known for being brutal and sadistic. And particularly at this point in the Arkham franchise he has enormous resources. He is the number one gang leader in Gotham. And has easily the most power in the city.”

The next game in the Batman: Arkham franchise has been announced by Warner Bros as Batman: Arkham Origins, and is currently in development for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 Wii U, and also PC. The Release date has also been announced as October 25, and there is no mention of it being available for next-gen consoles. Unfortunately, this title will Not be developed by acclaimed developers Rocksteady , but instead will be worked on an in-house at Warner Bros. Games Montreal. The May issue of Game Informer has revealed plenty of new details about the next instalment in the Batman: Arkham series of games, which we now know is coming in October alongside a new handheld title for 3Ds and Vita, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.
The details confirm that events will take place earlier in Batman's crime fighting career, and will be influenced by Batman: Year One and Legends of the Dark Knight.
The story, which is based in Gotham City long before part of it was turned into a massive prison, will take place on Christmas Eve, and sees Black Mask place a bounty on the Caped Crusader's head, drawing in the DC universe's best assassins.

It has now been confirmed by Game Informer magazine that a third film in the Batman "Arkham" video game series is on the way. Entitled "Batman: Arkham Origins," the story is being dubbed a prequel and is currently targeting an October release this year.
Taking place before "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City," the story is set on a Christmas Eve when some of the best assassins in the world (including the pictured Deathstroke) have come to Gotham City for one night and with one mission - Kill the Bat.
The story will use an open-world Gotham City environment like we saw in "Arkham City," and retain Rocksteady's custom modified Unreal engine from the previous games.
One key difference however is that British developer Rocksteady Studios, who produced the first two games, are Not developing this. Instead, they have handed over the reigns to Warner Bros. Games Montreal.

Batman: Arkham Asylum hit gaming consoles back in 2009. Batman: Arkham City arrived in late 2011. Batman: Arkham Origins, the prequel to both games, is now set for a October 25 release this year, and those fine folk over at GameInformer have the scoop on what to expect.First up, Rocksteady Studios are no longer in charge of this crack of the cat whip, with Warner Brothers Games Montreal taking over (they did the Wii U Armored edition recently) - though they will be using the modified unreal engine Rocksteady had made their own over the past two games. Head of WB Montreal's team is Eric Holmes, which will mean something to anyone who's played Prototype, as he's the man behind that particular open-world gorefest. It's a safe bet that there will be fewer bodily organs flying around cityscapes in this particular game, which is set several years before the events of City...

Warner Bros. Games Montreal has taken the mantle of the bat from Rocksteady Studios this time around for Batman: Arkham Origins. WB Montreal has full access to Rocksteady's custom modified Unreal engine to capture the look and feel of the Arkhamverse. As the title suggests, the game takes place years before both of the previous Arkham titles when a young, unrefined Batman encounters many supervillains for the first time. On our full cover image below, fans will recognize the assassin Deathstroke, who appears for the very first time in a core Arkham game.
Heading up the vision for Arkham Origins is creative director Eric Holmes, known for being the lead designer of open world action hits The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Prototype. A self-professed lover of comics, Holmes even wrote the miniseries Transformers: Megatron Origin for Idw.
Gamers won't have to wait long to experience Batman's lastest adventure.

Even as "Gears of War 3" pushed its release into the latter part of 2011 this year, Epic Games continued to move forward on schedule with its new Unreal-powered iPad title "Infinity Blade". Just because they're sitting on some successful IP's, don't expect them to hold back in the new year, however. Design director Cliff Bleszinski thinks that word of yet another Epic IP could be here as soon as Gdc 2011.
Anyone interested should keep their "eyes peeled at Gdc," which runs from the end of February into the first week of March, Bleszinski said in an interview from a recent issue of Egm (via Examiner.com).
The game will be a product of Bleszinski's imagination and the work of "Prototype" lead designer Eric Holmes, and while it's too early to tell if the project will give birth to a new "Gears"-sized franchise, the outspoken public face of Epic spoke of his ambitions in grandiose terms.
