Wednesday was one of Netflix’s biggest hits last year, as the supernatural teen drama starring Jenna Ortega in the titular role became a global hit. In this report, as you might have guessed, we are going to bring you all that we know about the upcoming second season of Wednesday in one place. You are going to find out all that we know about the series’ release date, episode count,...

Those lore hunters often end up finding some incredible new details about their favorite characters. Nowadays, fans are trying their best to connect Bloodborne and Dark Souls.
These two games were released years apart: Dark Souls launched in 2011 and Bloodborne in 2015. Both of these games were very successful, and both of them fall under the popular genre of souls. Season 2 of the hit Netflix Addams Family series Wednesday is expected to start filming in Ireland (season 1 was shot in Romania) sometime in late April, and during an interview with Vanity Fair the show’s star Jenna Ortega confirmed that she is about to get ready to return to the world of Wednesday Addams, revealing that she has been reading the season scripts recently – and promising that every episode of the new season will have something that will make it stand out and be memorable.
Vanity Fair asked Ortega about a previous quote where she said Wednesday season 2 will be more episodic, with each episode coming off like a standalone movie, and that it would lean further into horror. She responded, “I’ve just been reading scripts. By the time we actually start shooting, it will have been over two years since we wrapped. So internally, mentally, I’m like,...

When the writers strike ended near the start of October, we heard that the top priorities at the Netflix streaming service were to get the scripts for Stranger Things season 5 (the final season of that show) and Wednesday season 2 finished. Stranger Things season 5 is expected to go into production any day now, and Deadline reports that Wednesday season 2 is expected to start filming in late April. When this season goes into production, the cast and crew will be reporting to set in an entirely different country than they worked in during the first season. While season 1 was filmed in Romania, season 2 is moving to Ireland.
The Wednesday sets standing in Romania have become a major tourist attraction, but according to Deadline the decision to film the second season in a different country stems from “logistical challenges” the crew ran into while working in Romania.

As part of today’s Tudum fan event, the Netflix streaming service has just unveiled a new video that shows Wednesday cast members Jenna Ortega, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, and Hunter Doohan discussing some of the theories fans have come up about season 2 – and while doing so they confirm that we’ll be seeing another familiar member of the Addams family in the new season! They just aren’t able to say exactly who that Addams family member is. The video can be seen in the embed above.

Once Jenna Ortega was hard at work playing the title character on Netflix’s Addams Family series Wednesday, she became so dedicated to making sure the title character came off just right that she would even change lines from the way they were written in the scripts. But during an interview with the UK’s Times, she revealed that she initially passed on the chance to star in Wednesday.
Ortega told the Times (as reported by Deadline), “I got the email, passed on it. I had done so much TV in my life, all I’ve ever wanted to do is film. I was scared that by signing on to another television show it could prevent me from doing other jobs I really wanted and cared about.“

Jenna Ortega, star of Netflix’s hit Addams Family series Wednesday, has previously said she had to struggle with directors on the show who didn’t always trust the approach she was taking to the character. Starting with Tim Burton, who directed half of the show’s first season and didn’t want Ortega to show any expression or emotion at all. Something she didn’t feel would work for a lead character who had to push the plot forward. Now in an interview with Variety, Ortega revealed that she also had to change lines from the scripts because they weren’t true to her character.
Ortega said, “I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my foot down more on a set in a way that I had to on Wednesday. Everyhing that Wednesday does, everything I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all.

Director Tim Burton made his television directing debut by taking the helm of the first four episodes of the Netflix series Wednesday‘s eight episode first season. And when the time came to choose who would provide the music for the show, Burton went with his frequent collaborator Danny Elfman, who had also never worked in episodic TV before (aside from composing themes). Speaking with IndieWire, Elfman discussed the fact that he brought in a partner to help him face the challenge of composing the score for a TV series.
Elfman said, “I brought on a partner, Chris Bacon, to work with me because I’d never done episodic television. I was afraid that there was going to be a learning curve that was going to be kind of crushing. And it was. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced before, you’re dealing with delivering full scores, almost...

The Addams Family series Wednesday has turned out to be a massive hit for the Netflix streaming service – in fact, in less than a month of release, it has already become Netflix’s second-most popular English-language series of all time. So there seems to be almost no question that we’re going to be getting Wednesday season 2… Netflix just hasn’t officially ordered it yet. And while speaking to Variety about the show’s success, Netflix executive Peter Friedlander (the service’s head of U.S. and Canada scripted series) still couldn’t confirm if or when that new season order is going to be made.
Friedlander told Variety, “I have nothing to confirm at this time. I am optimistic about Wednesday. We’ll leave it at that. Weirdly, because it feels different, but we’re just two weeks into the launch of Wednesday. So we’re still really at...

This post contains spoilers for Netflix's "Wednesday" series.
2022 has been a banner year for Jenna Ortega. While she's been working for a decade now, it wasn't until her roles in "Jane the Virgin" and "You" that she caught the world's attention. She's since appeared in several shows, including "Big City Greens," and a slew of high-profile films, such as "Scream" (2022) and "X." Along with excellent turns in "The Fallout" and Netflix's "Wednesday," Ortega has commanded the conversation. She's more than a scream queen: Ortega is the moment.
Ortega's body of work also includes appearances in television series like "Stuck in the Middle" and roles in "Insidious: Chapter 2" and "The Babysitter: Killer Queen." Her other credits this year include "Carnage" and "Studio 666," a Dave Grohl-produced horror-comedy. Whenever Ortega appears on screen, you'll know it. She draws you into her world with performances that are grounded, authentic, and complex.

This article contains spoilers for the ending of Wednesday.
Netflix’s Wednesday certainly delivered thick and fast with the mysteries and twists this season, so you’ll be forgiven if you weren’t entirely able to keep up.
Forget “lions and tigers and bears, oh my!” like The Wizard Of Oz, this creepy and kooky teen (played by Jenna Ortega) wasted no time before falling into trouble at Nevermore Academy. After that, life-threatening danger just kept on coming her way.
But while Wednesday definitely went wrong on more than one occasion, it turns out this macabre character was on to something when it came to monsters – both human and supernatural. In fact, it was kind of her destiny.
So who exactly was the monster stalking the woods of the school grounds, and why was some mystery force specifically targeting her?
Here’s how the season 1 finale played out.

When we first heard in February 2021 that Netflix was partnering with Tim Burton for a new Addams Family series titled "Wednesday," we were thrilled. Then things got even more exciting when we learned that "The Babysitter: Killer Queen"'s Jenna Ortega had been cast in the titular role. Seeing as she's already proven her supernatural chops with the Netflix horror film, she seems like the perfect choice for the deadpan and macabre Wednesday Addams.
Back in September, Netflix announced a handful of new stars had joined the cast. Gwendoline Christie is going from portraying the stalwart knight Brienne of Tarth on “Game of Thrones” to playing Larissa Weems, a longtime rival of Morticia Addams in Netflix’s “Wednesday.” Christie is a series regular.
The eight-episode series — a live-action, comedic, supernatural mystery that Netflix ordered in February — revolves around Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) going to the Nevermore Academy. Larissa (Christie) is the principal there, and according to Netflix, she “still has an axe to grind with her former classmate Morticia Addams” (guest star Catherine Zeta-Jones). Several months ago, a meme was born: The CW dramedy “Riverdale” was dubbed “Hot Archie Who Fucks” (or “Hawf,” for short) by several fans. It was a fun way of describing how the show brought an irreverent, sexually charged edge to a previously rather innocent Archie Comics icon.
Credit for the nickname is believed to go to film and TV critic Charles Bramesco.

Following on the heels of “Hawf,” the NatGeo series “Genius” soon became known as “Hot Einstein Who Fucks” – thanks to its own deliberately sexual take on the world renowned scientist and pop culture icon. (Both the younger and older versions of Einstein, played by Johnny Flynn and Geoffrey Rush, respectively, got some on screen.)

You watch enough hero-backed-into-a-corner action films like Crank, Taken, or The Equalizer and you start to find your mind drifting away from the sheer monotony of their progression. Their characters are built to survive these situations no matter how dire because people want to see the good guy win. They want to see him risk everything, travel in the murky areas of morality, and be the badass society doesn’t allow them to be, but that ultimate victory is key because escapism only works when your surrogate onscreen walks away. How else could there be a sequel? But what happens when a Joe Schmo is thrust into proving his mettle through the same type of scenario? What would those films look like through a Shaun of the Dead filter?

"Keep your eye on the prize, Matthew." FilmBuff has unveiled an official Us trailer for an action thriller called Level Up, about a deadbeat gamer whose beautiful girlfriend is kidnapped. In order to find her, he must deliver a package following the instructions sent to him on a mobile phone the kidnappers give him. Starring Josh Bowman, Leila Mimmack, Christina Wolfe, Neil Maskell, William Houston and Kulvinder Ghir. There's really nothing interesting about this, and the concept isn't that new, especially with Nerve this year and the Crank movies previously and so many other movies just like this. I dig the colorful hats the kidnappers are wearing, but that's about the only original idea in this trailer. Have a look. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Adam Randall's Level Up, direct from FilmBuff's YouTube: A deadbeat gamer's girlfriend is kidnapped. Her kidnappers keep in contact with him by phone,...

Chicago – For moviegoers, each new film is a chance to escape, feel, fear, cry, be thrilled or laugh. Filmmakers and actors want you to experience this range of emotions, but producers and investors care most about the film making money. That’s why Hollywood is scared of truly original stories. Originality is an unknown without a built-in fan base.
Rating: 2.0/5.0
To minimize their risk and inspire confidence in a return on investment, most new films these days are based on a best-selling book (or a series), a beloved comic book or a remake of an already famous character from the past. Original films like “Juno” and “Once” happen once in a blue moon. They take a huge viral following to break free and impress at the box office.
Going into a short feature-length film like “Dracula Untold,” which is only 92 minutes, you already know it’s following a safety formula.
