productions and in summer (and winter) stock, and as a young comedian
in various locales in upstate New York and neighboring states.

Alan was the artistic director and resident playwright of the Tucson
Teen Theater (AKA Open Circle Theater), in Tucson, AZ from 1973-1976.
Among the works produced during his tenure were two of his own works:
Sweet Darkness, a story of Jewish children in the Terizen Concentration
Camp, and Illusions, a story of former Hitler youth in post-war
Berlin.
