Bernard Kalb was born on February 4, 1922 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor, known for Dave (1993), Years of Crisis (1950) and Bicentennial Minutes (1974). He was married to Phyllis Bernstein. He died on January 8, 2023 in North Bethesda, Maryland, USA.
He graduated from City College of New York, then joined the Army and was stationed in Alaska's Aleutian Islands, where he worked on a newspaper whose editor was writer Dashiell Hammett.
In 1955, he was assigned to cover Operation Deep Freeze, Admiral Richard Byrd's final expedition to Antarctica.
