With The Tomorrow Job writer/director Bruce Wemple steps away from the creature features like Monstrous and Dawn of the Beast that he’s been making lately to go back to the time paradox films such as Lake Artifact and Altered Hours that he started his career with.
In fact, The Tomorrow Job reworks Altered Hours’ premise of a drug that can send its user a day into the future as the jumping-off point for its tale of Lee and his crew of time travelling thieves. Lee was a subject of the late Dr. Tupple’s experiments in time travel. And when he left the project, he took the remaining samples of the drug with him.
Now he, along with Finn and Martin use it to steal information for clients.

The late Taylor Negron (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Last Boy Scout) stars in Alienated, invading cinemas and VOD this March via Gravitas Ventures. From writer-director Brian Ackley comes an intoxicating, edge-of-the-seat science-fiction chiller tells the story of a married couple that is forced to confront their fatal relationship issues while on the brink of a possible alien abduction. Alienated has (so far) won 12 awards, including three for Best Feature, several Best Actor awards (including honours for the late Negron), and Best Director for Ackley. We chatted to co-star Jen Burry about the film…
Do you remember how you got involved in Alienated?
I had taken a workshop with Princeton Holt several years prior and we kept in touch over the years. Then one day he emailed me and told me he had a script he wanted me to read. That was it!
Is it rewarding to see it...

Who isn’t self-centered? If you find someone, please let me know, because I don’t think that person exists. Even when we are at our most compassionate, empathetic, or charitable, our actions are still our own. We do what we do out of love — molding our lives as society or religion deems moral. Action or inaction is a choice no one can make for us. Our weakness or strength allows us to be manipulated or stand tall, not the other person’s ability to sell. And this fact is only amplified with marriage. We go in believing love to be a great unifier, erasing the board on individuality so a team can take its place. Instead, doing something for your spouse may actually be the most selfish act of all.

Reality check: Alienated isn’t a science fiction film. I know, I know, it’s got “alien” in the title, and yes, there are UFOs involved in the story. However, Alienated is as much a sci-fi film as two pieces of bread with jam smeared lightly on the crust is a sandwich. No, this film’s filling is very much a drama, with a light sprinkling of sci-fi on top.
I found Alienated a very interesting film to watch. It quickly became apparent that this film wasn’t going to be as alien heavy as I had initially hoped, but that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. The more I watched the more I realised that the writing in this film is really, really good. Basically, the film is about a married couple arguing about the issues...

Read More: Gravitas Ventures Acquires Feel-Good Comedy '4th Man Out' After completing its festival run with a total of three Best Feature wins, several Best Actor awards and a Best Director prize for Brian Ackley, the indie science-fiction movie "Alienated" has been picked up by Gravitas Ventures. The company has secured all North American VOD rights to the film, which features the final performance by Taylor Negron, who unfortunately passed earlier this year to cancer at the age of 57. "Alienated," starring George Katt and Jen Burry, centers around the married couple Nate and Paige. After thinking he's seen a UFO, Nate tries to convince Paige, who doesn't believe him, causing major friction in their relationship. As their disagreement draws them apart, the couple is forced to face their fatal relationship issues while in the midst of a possible alien abduction. *full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by One Way or Another Productions/George Katt Director/writer: Brian Ackley. Cast: George Katt, Jen Burry and Taylor Negron. Alien encounter/abduction scenarios are sometimes tough to play out on screen. In this day and age where interest in UFOs is at an all time high due to TV shows like "Hangar 1: The UFO Files" and fangled conspiracies through "Ancient Aliens," just what does not often get explored are the existential issues witnesses feel when they realize how insignificant they are in a greater, cosmic sense. Alienated is an aptly titled independent movie that delves into the psychological domain where Nate (George Katt, In the Gray) finds himself caught between a rock and a hard place. After sighting an unidentified flying object, he has relationship issues with his wife Paige (Jen Burry, Land of Smiles) and existential woes whom Griffin (Taylor Negron,...

Actor George Katt is set to make his directorial debut in the indie feature, Dinner with the Alchemist. Previous works of talented individual include Red Sheep, Valley of Angels, In the Gray and, most recently, House of Bodies. The latter is in post-production and is set for a 2013 release. This thriller sounds just as exciting as Alchemist, and both should prove interesting. While Dinner may not bear a similar design with Ben Jonson’s play “The Alchemist,” where it satirizes the vices of mankind, this movie’s historical setting is worth noting. Principal photography is set to begin in October and it will use the backdrop of both Virginia and New Orleans to give this film an authentic feel. Set in the 1900s, a kismet meeting between famous alchemist Jacques St. Germaine (Christian Martin) and a young orphan named Mary (Stef Dawson) will set in motion a string of grisly...

Hostage Trailer. Mike Yurinko‘s Hostage (2012) movie trailer stars Holt Boggs, George Katt, Liz McGeever, Robert Gordon Spencer, and Sofia Radeka. Hostage‘s plot synopsis: a “story about Eugene (Holt Boggs), a man dealing with a personal tragedy of his family’s death by living at the vacation cabin that they last stayed, only to discover he’s completely snowbound. During Eugene’s desperate attempts to dig himself out, he discovers he’s not alone.”
Great atmosphere in this movie trailer. This seems like a high-grade possession film, even more so than The Devil Inside, The Last Exorcism, and The Rite.

A cool trailer has dropped that appears to be set in the same woods that corrupted the unsuspecting characters in The Evil Dead. Okay, maybe not the exact same woods, but the upcoming film Hostage has a guy in a cabin struggling for survival against a malevolent spirit. Off to a good start, I say!
Created by screenwriter/director Michael J. Yurinko (Fading), Hostage is currently filming in the Poconos, Pa with a release scheduled for later this year. It's the story of a man battling his personal demons while snowbound inside his home. Kinda like The Shining, but on a smaller scale. Holt Boggs (The Prodigy) stars with George Katt (Valley of Angels). Additional filming will occur in Scranton and Bangor, Pa as well as Los Angeles, CA.

Producer and actor Robert Gordon Spencer (Deadtime Stories) challenged screenwriter and director Michael J. Yurinko (Fading), a Pennsylvania resident, to create a horror screenplay that was "sharp, unique and budget-minded."
The result was Hostage, a story about a man dealing with his personal demons while snowbound inside his home. Inspired by real-life reports of paranormal events, the film stars actor Holt Boggs (pictured below), best known for his leading role in action-suspense film The Prodigy.
The cast also includes actor George Katt (right), winner of 2008's Best Breakthrough Actor for his performance in the independent feature Valley of Angels opposite Danny Trejo at the New York International Independent Film Festival. Katt...

New York isn't just a place. Making it there symbolizes acting success. And for five performers with credits ranging from Bollywood to comedy clubs, the time had come to make the move. The Cast Tanika Brown McKelvy had been a working actor in Los Angeles since 1995, appearing on such programs as Las Vegas, George Lopez, and House and in several indie films. "But I was beginning to get complacent," she says. "I wanted to do more things -- more stage work -- but there wasn't that much opportunity in L.A." Her lifelong desire to appear on Broadway, and the fact that her high school sweetheart was in New York, propelled her to cross the continent last August. Three years prior to arriving in New York in September, Stuti Kejriwal was an acting student in her native Mumbai, India, where she had appeared in a few independent movies. But when...
