After a 22-year absence from performing, she appeared in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Albee play "Seascape" (as Sarah Kennedy Roth) in 2004 for the Thunder River Theatre Company in Carbondale, Colorado.

Frequent guest appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962) during that time clinched the "Laugh-In" job.
