Dave Myers, best known as one-half of The Hairy Bikers — Si King makes up the other half — has died. He was 66.
King shared on X (formerly Twitter) Thursday that Myers died “peacefully at home” Wednesday night, following a years-long battle with cancer.
“Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home,” he wrote. “All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.”
Myers, born on Sep. 8, 1957, in Barrow-in-Furness, England, worked in a steelworks as a student to help finance his higher education in Fine Arts. He later joined the BBC as a make-up artist, specializing in prosthetics.

Paul O’Grady’s hometown of Birkenhead is planning to line the streets with dogs on the day of his funeral as a mark of respect to the late presenter.
The star, who had suffered numerous heart attacks over the years, died from sudden cardiac arrhythmia aged 67 last month.
He was known for his love of canines and presented For the Love of Dogs on ITV for 11 seasons right until his passing.
A fan from Birkenhead, which is just outside Liverpool, named Janine Ferguson told the Wirral Globe on Tuesday (18 April): “The plan is for people to line the streets with their families and bring their dogs as a sign of respect.
“I’ve asked for all local rescue dogs and cats’ homes to attend as well so we can collect donations from everyone there.”
She added: “It only started off as a small idea but it has gone absolutely mad.

Euphoria star Chloe Cherry has been charged with retail theft after allegedly stealing a blouse.
The model and former adult film star, who appeared in HBO’s teen drama as drug addict Faye, is accused of stealing a shirt worth 28 (£23) from a shop in her hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
According to legal documents obtained by People, Cherry was charged on Monday 23 January, with the alleged shoplifting incident taking place in December at the Building Character shopping centre.
Cherry’s representatives have denied the claims, telling TMZ the incident occurred when “there was confusion over a blouse that wasn’t properly charged to my client’s credit card”.
According to witnesses, the 25-year-old allegedly took the shirt into a dressing room, then left without paying. She did, however, pay for other items on a credit card.
Police claimed that Cherry admitted she took the blouse and returned it to the police officer.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has reflected on her Buffy the Vampire Slayer success, saying that she will “always be proud” of the series, despite the Joss Whedon controversy.
Gellar led the seven-season cult classic, created by Whedon, as the titular Buffy, whose life’s mission was to destroy vampires and other forces of darkness.
In 2021, nearly 18 years after the hit drama ended, Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase in the show, came forward with allegations of “abuse of power” against Whedon. Her comments only added to a rolling tide of allegations from Whedon’s past collaborators.
The creator and director has since denied all claims.
At the time, Gellar issued a statement, supporting her castmate, writing: “While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon.”
Now, in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gellar once again addressed the controversy,...

People expect highway rides to be fast, racy, and smooth. But on screen, Telugu movie ‘Highway’, ace cinematographer Kv Guhan’s third directorial venture in Telugu, suffers on all three fronts. Interesting in patches but largely predictable, ‘Highway’ could yet appeal to die-hard fans of the ‘cat and mouse’ type serial killer genre.
The movie’s basic premise is set around a serial woman-killer and a determined lady cop in Hyderabad. ‘Highway’ shifts scene when a young village lass lands in his clutches, with her new love hot on their tracks. Despite the initial promise of a taut thriller, ‘Highway’ ends up meandering along to a rather unbelievable ending.
