Those who weren't present in 2000 during the debut of Dave Willis' and Matt Maiellaro's "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" may require lot of context here. Broadcasting in 15-minute episodes on Cartoon Network's then-nascent late-night Adult Swim brand, "Aqua Teen" featured a trio of anthropomorphic fast food items that engaged in crass, idiotic adventures. There was Master Shake (Dana Snyder) an idiotic blowhard and would-be leader of the group. There was Frylock (Carey Means), the group's intellectual, who was possessed of curious, crystal-based superpowers. And there was Meatwad (Willis), the "kid" of the group. They lived next door to the horny and cantankerous Carl (also Willis), who hated them with a passion. The Aqua Teens were slackers par excellence, spending their time and energy on trivial activities like swimming in Carl's above-ground pool. Sometimes there were mutants and Moon Men.

Adult Swim has “permanently retired” an episode of “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” and an episode of “The Boondocks,” making them unavailable for streaming on the Adult Swim site and WarnerMedia’s HBO Max, “due to cultural sensitivities,” a representative for the cable channel told TheWrap Tuesday.
“The Boondocks” installment in question is Season 3’s “The Story of Jimmy Rebel,” which focuses on Uncle Ruckus’ relationship with a country singer whose albums have titles like “Real N****** Never Die, They Just Smell That Way.”
The “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” episode that was removed is Season 6’s “Shake Like Me,” which is titled in reference to John Howard Griffin’s “Black Like Me,” and sees Shake become “stereotypically” Black in his behavior and physical appearance after being bitten by a Black man infected with toxic waste.

Almost as much fun as watching the Adult Swim cartoon originally titled "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is watching how many times the creators arbitrarily change the series' name. For the new season, starting June 24, the show will be entitled "Aqua Teen Something You Know Whatever."
Touting the new season as "It's The Same Exact Show, As It's Never Been Before, Only Just Like It Used To Be, But Now Different," the show continues to follow the adventures of Meatwad, Frylock, Master Shake and Carl in their new home of Seattle.
Last year, the show changed its name to "Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1," because in the words of co-creator Matt Maiellaro, "We were bored."
In this teaser, the show gives an explanation for the new name change: It's funny to watch a cake get destroyed. Just watch and you'll understand.

I'm a huge fan of animation, animated films are getting better and better. Not only is the look and animation getting ridiculously awesome, but I find that many of these animated films actually have incredibly good stories. Not all of them are good though, for example, Cars 2 and Rio sucked. It will be interesting to see who ends up taking home the awards this year. Out of the movies on the list that I've seen and liked we have Puss in Boots, Rango and Kung Fu Panda 2. I guess it's no surprises that Kung Fu Panda 2 is leading the nominations with 9. Check out the list and let us know what your favorite animated movies of the year are!

"Kung Fu Panda 2" dominated the nominations for the 39th Annual Annie Awards. Given by the International Animated Film Society, the DreamWorks Animation sequel received 12 nods including Best Animated Feature. "Puss in Boots" and "Rango" each took nine noms. Pixar's "Cars 2" received seven nominations, while Disney's "Winnie the Pooh" took eight nods but was oddly missing in the Best Animated Feature category.

Chicago – The critical mind boggles when faced with a postmodern curiosity like “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.” It is almost entirely indefensible on every conceivable level. Think of the funniest joke you ever heard at 3am in the midst of an insomnia attack or the haze of hookah smoke, and you’ll find the accurate equivalent of this show’s mind-numbingly stupid humor.
Launched a decade ago on Adult Swim, “Aqua Teen” has outlasted most of the network’s other shows, and has garnered a devoted cult following (as well as several detractors). It certainly has the distinction of being the only show aiming to reflect our fast food culture by actually casting fast food as its main characters. There’s Meatwad, played by series co-creator Dave Willis, whose memorable voice can be achieved by anyone who knows how to constrict their vocal chords. Master Shake (Wallace Shawn soundalike Dana Snyder...

This review was written for the theatrical release of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters."First Look Pictures
Having already created a sensation with a guerrilla marketing campaign that was mistaken for a terrorist bomb plot by Boston authorities, Cartoon Network Adult Swim fixture "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" takes the plunge into the big pool with the feature-length "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters." (Take that, "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan"!)
No doubt about it, the show's certifiably bizarro, stream-of-consciousness sensibility has made the transition notably intact, which should please its young male fan base.
But though it has its undeniable laugh-out-loud moments, the brainchild of Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis isn't immune to the problem often faced by supersize cartoons -- namely, what might be effectively clever when doled out in episodic portions tends to get diluted over the course of an expanded format.
For those not in the know, "Aqua Teen" has nothing really to do with swimming or adolescents but rather three giant fast food staples.
That would be Master Shake (voiced by Dana Snyder), the leader of the trio, Frylock (Carey Means), a brilliant, airborne serving of French fries, and the dim but lovable Meatwad (Willis), a meatball that has long outlived its "best before" date.
The plot, such as it is, involves the quest for a circuit board belonging to a piece of exercise equipment owned by the Force's slobby next-door neighbor Carl (Willis again) that turns out to be part of an evil scheme perpetrated by Dr. Weird (C. Martin Croker).
There's more than a hint of "South Park"-esque larceny to "ATHF" ("CMFFT"), laced with what would seem to be some powerful recreational herbs, but after the first half-hour or so, the movie does begin to lose some of its loopy potency.
Still, the extended version does allow for an inspired lineup of voice cameos, including Larry Blackmon and T-Man of the 1980s funk band Cameo, plus Rush drummer Neil Peart and "Evil Dead" legend Bruce Campbell, as well as a deviously funny parody of those vintage movie theater ads featuring singing-and-dancing snack foods.

- Most of you know the Aqua Teen Hunger Force as a late night cable television detour on the Cartoon Network while some of us who are obvlious to edgier television offerings know the Aqua Teen Hf as the basis for a guerrilla marketing campaign that for many was excessive, but for red-alert mockers like myself throughly enjoyed how marketing and hysteria can cross paths. Written and produced by Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters is an action-adventure epic that tackles the mysterious circumstances that brought Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake together. An immortal piece of exercise equipment threatens the balance of galactic peace, and it is up to the Aqua Teen Hunger Force to run away from it. Complicating matters, the Plutonians team up with the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past for ultimate control of the deadly device. First Look Pictures
