Colette Mann and producer Natalie Lynch.
With nearly 50 years experience under her belt, Neighbours star Colette Mann figured she would quickly grasp the new health and safety guidelines when filming resumed.
What the actress, who plays meddlesome barmaid Sheila Canning, hadn’t counted on was her tactile instinct.
So the instant she grabbed the arm of Bonnie Anderson, who plays Bea Nilsson, she knew that was a no-no. “It was just muscle memory,” Mann, a regular on the Fremantle/10 Peach show since 2012, tells If.
“When you’re in the moment, that’s what you would normally do. But we are getting so used to the safe-distancing rules.
“The directors and all the young actors are being amazing about it. Viewers will notice we don’t sit close to each other any more but the integrity of the script is there.”

Gary Conway.
One of Australia’s most respected and prolific TV directors who started his career at Crawford Productions in the 1960s, Gary Conway died on Friday in a hospice in Melbourne, aged 73.
Conway directed nearly 800 episodes of Neigbours, beginning in 1988, and worked on the Fremantle show until late last year when he was forced to stop after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
“Gary was a great mate to me and to many, many others,” his friend and long-time colleague, composer Garry (Sam) Hardman tells If.
“Gary started at Crawford’s a couple of years before I did. I met him when I started with the company in 1965. There were 45 people on staff back then and Gary was the company’s art department.
“He would make up the credit cards for Homicide and Hunter as well as the ‘fake signs” for filming that could turn an ordinary office building into a federal bank.

Remember Queen Bea, the Freak, and, er 'Vinegar Tits'? We revisit the joys of Aussie women’s prison drama, Prisoner: Cell Block H…
Britain, you sent Australia your convicts. In return, we sent you a TV show celebrating them.
Strap on your nostalgia goggles, it’s time to revisit one of the most bizarre, violent, lesbian-fetishy-heart-warming dramas ever created.
Prisoner: Cell Block H (known simply as Prisoner in Australia) was a daring, one-hour show set in Wentworth Detention Centre, a fictional women’s prison that provides the one-word title of the original show's modern-day revival. It ran for 692 episodes from February 1979 until December 1986. It hitched a ride on the coat-tails of the successful British show Within These Walls, with a notable difference. The focus of Prisoner was mostly on the inmates, not the wardens.
The opening was short and punchy - a quick recap of the previous...

Neighbours star Stefan Dennis has teamed up with the show's new recruit Colette Mann to revisit his first ever screen kiss in a humorous photoshoot. The actor, best known as Ramsay Street's Paul Robinson, shot a kissing scene with Mann over 30 years ago as they appeared on cult series Prisoner together. At the time, Dennis was playing a teenage guest character - while Mann was portraying the regular role of Doreen Anderson. Reflecting on the experience, Dennis commented: "I was so nervous, just hopeless. I was surrounded by this bevy of major actresses, really big stars, and here I was in my first significant ongoing role." Meanwhile, Mann revealed that Dennis used to (more)...
