- In Czechoslovakia he acted among others in the movies "Dobry vojak Svejk - Der brave Soldat Schwejk" (1931) - the first sound film of the adventures of Schwejk.
- At the end of 1910's he appeared for the first time in a movie.
- After the war he worked as a production manager for various Munich Film Companies.
- In the 20's he became a very busy actor who was convincing in movies like "Die Glücksfalle" (1920), "Taras Bulba" (1924), "Fedora" (1926), "Die Czardasfürstin" (1927) and "Waterloo" (1928).
- In the talkies he found occupation in the Czech film as well as in the German film.
