Jenna Ortega is heading into production on season 2 of the Addams Family-inspired Netflix series Wednesday and has a prominent role in the long-awaited sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, but she’s no longer a part of two other franchises. After starring in Scream (2022) and Scream VI, she reportedly asked for a substantial pay raise to return for Scream 7, despite knowing that request wouldn’t go over well with the producers at Spyglass Media – and sure enough, Spyglass opted not to bring her back for Scream 7. Now the full trailer for the upcoming Netflix animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory – which serves as a follow-up to the animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous – reveals that Ortega’s Camp Cretaceous character Brooklynn has been killed off! In the wake of the five-season animated series “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous,” Netflix’s “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” is stomping its way onto the platform this year.
“Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” premieres May 24, and the series is set six years after the events of “Camp Cretaceous.” Watch the official trailer from Netflix below.
While the other characters from “Camp Cretaceous” are back in the new series, what’s interesting here is that Jenna Ortega’s Brooklynn is not coming back. As the official “Chaos Theory” trailer reveals, Brooklynn was killed off between shows, with the character’s death kickstarting the “conspiracy thriller” events of this brand new Jurassic World sequel series.
Jenna Ortega had voiced Brooklynn for all five seasons of “Camp Cretaceous.”

The Outsiders, a musical based on the 1967 S.E. Hinton book, followed with 12 nominations and the revival of Cabaret, starring Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin, followed with nine nods.
With its 13 noms, Stereophonic set a record for the most Tony nominations for a play, surpassing previous record holder Slave Play’s 12 noms in 2020.
Stereophonic‘s surprisingly strong performance even included a best score nomination despite it being a play.
In the best musical category, Hell’s Kitchen and The Outsiders were nominated, alongside the dance-based show Illionise, with music from Sufjan Stevens’ album and a book by Justin Peck and Jackie Sibblies Drury; Suffs, a musical about the women’s suffrage movement with a score and book by Shaina Taub; and Water for Elephants, based on the 2006 novel,...

Alfred Molina’s first big breakthrough and Hollywood movie debut, Raiders of the Lost Ark, starring Hollywood legend Harrison Ford, opened the doors for the actor to more potential roles. Molina now has more than 200 acting credits to his name, but when he joined the Steven Spielberg film, he was broke.

Molina recently revealed that Spielberg saved his life and career as an actor. Of course, we all remember the British actor as the Spider-Man villain, Doctor Octopus in Tobey Maguire’s MCU movies (who also appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside Maguire). But he owes a lot to the Hollywood gentleman for reducing Molina’s sinking boat as he struggled to walk through life.

Arachnophobia has been labeled a 90s classic in the eyes of horror fans. Not only does it have a perfect execution of spine-chilling horror, but it also manages to balance it with excellent comedy. Considering just how iconic the film was, many were concerned when it was announced that the film would be getting a remake.
A stil from Arachnophobia
However, since James Wan will be heading the project, their worries have been put at ease. The director has an impressive track record with horror, having been behind projects like The Conjuring series, The Nun films, Annabelle, and Saw.
Reminiscing back to the original movie, Jeff Daniels, who played the role of Dr. Ross Jennings, talked about his experience working on the original film.

The Academy’s Board of Governors has approved the new awards rules and campaign regulations for the 97th Oscars ceremony to be held on March 2.
Significant changes have been made in the original score category. Now, up to three composers can receive individual Oscar statuettes if they all significantly contribute to a film’s music. This marks a departure from previous rules that required composers to submit as a group, such as the band Son Lux for the nomination for the best picture winner “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” Jon Batiste, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, winners for the animated film “Soul” (2020), also received a single statuette. The definition of a group has been specified to include a recognized band. Additionally, the shortlist in this category has been expanded from 15 to 20 titles, which will be announced in late December before the official nomination voting period begins in January.

Fear of insects is one of the most common phobias that has been regularly exploited by filmmakers throughout the decades. There are truly scary movies about flies, beetles, and wasps, but most often the source of menace in such horror and thriller films is spiders.
34 years ago, Frank Marshall made a cult film on the subject with the telling title Arachnophobia, and now, on April 26th, a new film drops on Shudder that will vie for the place of the main horror project about spiders – Infested by debutant Sebastien Vanicek, which was shown last year at the Venice Film Festival. In addition to the general mood, the films have something else in common: real live spiders took part in the filming of both.
What is Infested About?
Infested begins with the usual horror-movie approach: someone arrives in a new house and faces unexpected obstacles that prevent them from living a calm and measured life.

The Jurassic Park films, especially the first, are one of Steven Spielberg’s most acclaimed feats that pushed the boundaries with what one could do with visual effects. The director managed to bring dinosaurs to life in such a lively and entertaining way and the effects still stand up to this day. The franchise spawned a new trilogy in the 2010s with the Jurassic World trilogy.

There are plenty of ways to describe what happened at Caesars Palace on Wednesday when Universal Pictures delivered Lee Isaac Chung’s Twisters to the Colosseum stage. Some examples: The film whipped up a frenzy; exclusive footage spun through Sin City; action scenes blew away theater owners, etc., etc.
All of the above work as Universal debuted never-before-seen scenes of the summer release courtesy of Chung and his castmembers Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos, who turned up for an extended introduction.
Chung was first to walk out — an appearance that marked his first time at CinemaCon — and the director said that many in the audience might be wondering why he decided to jump into summer blockbuster tentpole territory after carving out a career in independent film. “I’ve been fascinated by tornadoes all my life,” he said, adding that he grew up in Arkansas, where tornadoes were just a way of life.

Plot: Residents of a rundown French apartment building battle against an army of deadly, rapidly reproducing spiders.
Review: It’s been a long time since we were blessed with some good spider horror and right now, we’re fortunate to have multiple hitting the scene. Sting (which I highly recommend checking out Cody’s review) takes a more comedic approach, while Infested goes right for the throat. And they both have a place in our wonderful genre of horror. Because if there’s one thing that’s been missing, it’s those creepy crawlers we know as spiders.
Infested follows Kaleb and his sister as they’re trying to keep their lives together after the death of their mother. Kaleb is fascinated with bugs, and when he brings home an exotic spider, he makes the mistake of not properly caging it. What he unleashes onto his apartment complex is an...

Two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson is in talks to join the Gareth Edwards-directed Jurassic World reboot at Universal.
This has been out there in the ether for some time, but it’s looking quite solid. This puts Johansson in business with another major movie franchise following her Black Widow days at Marvel, which resulted in the star suing Disney over the 2021 pandemic release of that movie, which the studio opted to go day-and-date on Disney+, thus siphoning box office grosses. The two sides ultimately settled.
Universal is assembling the project quickly for a July 2, 2025, release. David Koepp, who adapted the first Jurassic Park from Michael Crichton’s classic novel, is penning the latest iteration of Jurassic World.

Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies began with 2010’s Iron Man 2, where she stole the spotlight with her introductory action sequences. Since then, she has always held a commanding presence in all of her scenes in major MCU movies.

While speaking on a recent podcast, insider Jeff Sneider reported that Scarlett Johansson had discussions with Gareth and Frank Marshall about a potential movie project, though it’s uncertain if it will materialize.

The Jurassic World trilogy starring Chris Pratt continued where Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park trilogy left off and expanded the universe of Michael Crichton’s original novel. Now, while Dominion was supposed to be the last movie in the series, but it was soon confirmed that a seventh film was in the works and as of today, we have some interesting casting rumors regarding the movie.
Back in January 2024, it was reported that a seventh movie was in the works, with the studio looking to do a soft reboot of the franchise; the film probably won’t erase the events of the two previous trilogies, but a fresh start is what the producers are looking for, which is why Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Chris Pratt, and Bryce Dallas Howard are not expected to reprise their roles.

Photograph by Courtesy of HBO/Shutterstock With word coming out that Ridley Scott is set to direct a Bee Gees biopic, it’s well worth spotlighting a documentary released a couple of years ago that told the story of the legendary Brothers Gibb from the family’s point of view. Director Frank Marshall put The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart together largely using footage shot by the family and their associates. When Marshall, who also produced the film, was doing his research, he said he came across plenty of previously undiscovered gems, some of which really surprised him. NBCUniversal has confirmed that its new Jurassic World movie will film this year at its own Sky Studios Elstree in the UK.
With a release date already set for July 2025, the expectation from our sources is that the blockbuster will begin filming this summer, though that hasn’t been confirmed by the studio.
We reported last month that Godzilla, Rogue One and The Creator filmmaker Gareth Edwards was in final negotiations to direct the movie, which will be a fresh take on the Jurassic era with Jurassic World cast members Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard not expected to return, nor the original trilogy’s thespians Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill. David Koepp penned the script.
The confirmation of the movie filming at Sky Studios came from Universal’s sister company Sky, which today heralded UK government updates to the local tax credit and business rates.

Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner is game and ready to reprise his role as Aaron Cross in The Bourne Legacy sequel if it ever gets the green light. The movie was notoriously known for underperforming at the box office, and it also did not help that reviews from fans and critics were less-than-stellar.
Jeremy Renner in The Bourne Legacy
Matt Damon, who starred in the original trilogy, chose not to reprise his role as the titular character in 2012’s The Bourne Legacy for the reason that director Paul Greengrass was not at the helm.

In 1965, Martin Scorsese was 22 and surrounded by legends when he won the Jesse L. Laskey Intercollegiate Award at the Milestone Awards dinner hosted by the then-called Screen Producers Guild on March 8, 1965. Now, almost 60 years later, the filmmaker received the David O. Selznick Achievement Award at the 2024 PGA Awards in what he called a “full-circle” moment.
Guillermo del Toro introduced the Killers of the Flower Moon director and producer at Sunday’s award show, calling him an “indispensable titan.” When Scorsese, now 81, took the stage, he started to tell the story of the 1965 awards show and how he kissed German actress Elke Sommer on stage.
“On the stage, Alfred Hitchcock, James Stewart, Jack Benny, Samuel Goldwyn, Jack Warner and Norman Lear, Lew Wasserman, Julie Stein, Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, Janel Leigh, Dick Van Dyke, Elke Sommer and David O. Selznick,” said Scorsese. “They were the people on the dais at...

Martin Scorsese accepted the Producers Guild’s David O. Selznick Achievement Award at the PGA Awards tonight and took the Hollywood & Highland Ovation Ballroom down memory lane — to about 60 years ago, when he accepted a PGA nod for his student film, It’s Not Just You, Murray! at the ripe age of 22.
Painting the scene, the Killers of the Flower Moon filmmaker said: “On the stage, Alfred Hitchcock, James Stewart, Jack Benny, Samuel Goldwyn, Jack Warner and Norman Lear, Lew Wasserman, Julie SteinCary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, Janel Leigh, Dick Van Dyke, Elke Sommer and David O. “At the very end of the dais was me,” Scorsese continued. “I was all the way on the end. I was receiving the Jesse L.
