In the late 1940s he produced the radio talent show "Cavalcade of Youth" for which he received an award from Billboard magazine for giving young talent a chance to be heard.
In 1943 the Treasury Dept. named him special events director for the 7th War Bond Drive. For the drive he wrote the song "It's the Seventh" and produced the show "Forum" in which many stars of stage and screen participated.
"The Bergen County Song" was written to commemorate the opening of the George Washington Bridge.
The Scotch Plains Post Office let him change the address of his house to 515 Bumblebee Lane in remembrance of his songs "On the 5:15" and "Be My Baby Bumblebee".
Attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
