Bailey Bryan may have been wearing a Reba T-shirt when she took the stage at Cma Fest in June, but there was little else “country” about her set. And the 21-year-old Washington State native knew it. Since releasing her debut Ep So Far in 2017 and its clever single “Own It,” Bryan had been slowly transitioning into a pop artist, writing lyrics and embracing sounds in the studio that were far afield from what’s being played on already poppy country radio.

The latest release from rising songwriter Bailey Bryan, a new ballad from Toby Keith and the current Number One country song in the U.S. make up this week’s list of must-hear country and Americana tracks.
Dead Lee, “Are We Free”
The Portland-based pairing of singer-songwriter Kara Harris and Blitzen Trapper’s Brian Koch, Dead Lee buries the wreckage of a shipwrecked romance in the new video for “Are We Free.” The folksong itself carries a similar message, framing two lovers’ painful breakup against a backdrop of guitar tremolo and vocal harmonies.

Frank Zito (a career performance by writer/executive producer Joe Spinell of Rocky and The Godfather fame) is a deeply disturbed man, haunted by the traumas of unspeakable childhood abuse. And when these horrific memories begin to scream inside his mind, Frank prowls the seedy streets of N ew York City to stalk and slaughter innocent young women. Now Frank has begun a relationship with a beautiful photographer (Caroline Munro of The Spy Who Loved Me), yet his vile compulsions remain. These are the atrocities of a human monster. This is the story of a Maniac. Directed by William Lustig (Maniac Cop 2, Vigilante) and featuring landmark gore effects by Tom Savini (Dawn Of The Dead, Friday The 13th), this relentlessly shocking and disturbing film was originally banned or censored all over the world due to its graphic violence. Now Blue Underground is thrilled to present Maniac in a brand-new 4K...

Blue Underground let us know about a release date move for their upcoming Blu-ray release of Maniac, but it's for good reason. Previously scheduled for release in November, the new date is December 11th, which is giving Blue Underground extra time to upgrade the bonus features disc from the originally planned DVD format to a Blu-ray.

William Lustig's raw and sleazy Maniac is making its Blu-Ray debut this Halloween. Our friends at Blue Underground (who just knocked it out of the park with that City of the Living Dead Blu-Ray release) have set an October 26 release date. Expect special features from previous releases to be imported as well as new interviews with Caroline Munro, Tom Savini, composer Jay Chattaway and songwriters Michael Sembello and Dennis Matkosky. Universal Home Entertainment, meanwhile, has revealed the cover art for their October 19 Blu-Ray release of Psycho . Specs can be found in this previous news item .
