- Lani McIntyre was born on December 15, 1904 in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, USA [now Hawaii, USA]. He was an actor, known for Delicatessen (1991), Paradise Isle (1937) and Maui Chant (1943). He was married to Helen Jones. He died on June 17, 1951 in New York City, New York, USA.

- Hawaiian-born steel guitarist and leader of 'His Aloha Islanders', who performed for years at the Hawaiian Grill of the Hotel Lexington in New York. He was chiefly responsible for popularising the steel guitar in America and for introducing the Hawaiian guitar sound. He is also remembered for working with Bing Crosby on "Sweet Leilani", featured in the film Waikiki Wedding (1937).
- He was found dead at his home by his widow Helen Jones after she returned from a weekend trip to visit relatives. She told newspapers that McIntyre had been suffering from heart disease for the past few years.
