Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 11, Episode 9 of “The Masked Singer,” “Group B Finals: Soundtrack of My Life Night,” which aired May 1 on Fox.
For years, the panelists on “The Masked Singer” have thrown out names like Corey Feldman, Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken while trying to figure out what celebrities were disguised on stage. This week, those names finally became true.
“The Masked Singer” revealed the latest celebrities to be revealed on Wednesday night’s Group B finale, and it was Feldman as the Seal and Studdard/Aiken together as the Beets.
“For about 25 years, there was this kind of dark age where nobody really wanted to admit that my music was a real thing or that it existed or that I was doing it on a full capacity,” Feldman told Variety. “It was kind of overlooked and ignored for a long time.

Cynthia Weil, a Grammy-winning lyricist of notable range and endurance who enjoyed a decades-long partnership with husband Barry Mann and helped write “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling”, “On Broadway”, “Walking in the Rain” and dozens of other hits, has died at age 82.
Weil’s daughter, Dr. Jenn Mann, said that the songwriter died Thursday at her home in Beverly Hills, California, “surrounded by her family.” Mann, the couple’s only child, declined to cite a specific cause of death.
Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, married in 1961, were one of popular music’s most successful teams, part of a remarkable ensemble recruited by impresarios Don Kirshner and Al Nevins and based in Manhattan’s Brill Building neighborhood, a few blocks from Times Square. The NBC comedy Cheers was the place “where everybody knows your name.” The staff and regulars at Cheers were all friendly amongst each other, and to any newbies who wandered in for a cold one. The show was so popular that lots of celebrities guest starred on Cheers, too. Most were lovely, but two stood out for their hostility.

It wasn’t hard to choose five of George Harrison‘s most awkward interviews because he had many throughout his career. The top five will make even some of the former Beatle’s casual fans cringe.
George Harrison | Bernd Mueller/Getty Images 1. ‘Today Show,’ 1986
George’s 1986 appearance on the Today Show is one of his most awkward interviews for many reasons. At the beginning of the interview, the reporter asks about his involvement with Monty Python. She says “Monty Python” slowly, as if she is not saying it correctly. George picks up on it and imitates her in a slow American accent. You can watch it at the 2:30 mark in this video.
Her mention of Monty Python leads to a seemingly deep but confusing question about George’s philosophy of making films with his production company, HandMade Films. She says laughter is the biggest release and asks him if...

Courteney Cox and beau Johnny McDaid are demonstrating the perils of attempting to replicate the most iconic dance scene in “Dirty Dancing”.
The “Friends” alum shared a video of herself and the Snow Patrol frontman snuggling up in front of the TV watching the scene, in which Jennifer Grey’s Baby is lifted up in the air by Patrick Swayze’s Johnny Castle.
“I love this part,” Cox declares, before asking McDaid, “Can we do it? The lift?”

“Sure,” McDaid responds, with just a touch of dubiousness.
The pair are next seen in the back yard, while the Bill Medley-Jennifer Warnes hit “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” plays in the background.
Cox is then lifted off a deck and carried onto the grass by two men — one of whom happens to be Ed Sheeran.

Nowadays it’s hard for any superhero show to stand out on television. Through three seasons on Netflix, however, The Umbrella Academy has discovered that it sure does help to have a banging soundtrack.
Fittingly for a TV series based on a comic written by a musician (My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way), The Umbrella Academy knows its way around a tune. Season 1 was highlighted by an instant classic group dance session to Tiffany. Then the 1963-set season 2 upped the ante with a whole host of period-appropriate songs. For season 3, Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman wanted to make sure music played just as big a role.
“I write a lot of songs already into the script. And I encourage my writers to do the same thing,” Blackman tells Den of Geek. “Sometimes they make sense in the scene. Sometimes they’re a little weirdly subversive. And sometimes it’s just...

The past 12 months have been outstanding for H.E.R. Not only did she pick up two Grammys at the 2021 ceremony including Song of the Year for “I Can’t Breathe,” she also won an Academy Award for Best Original Song a few weeks later for “Fight For You” from “Judas and the Black Messiah.” “Fight For You” was then submitted to the 2022 Grammys, and it has been nominated for Song of the Year, Best Traditional R&b Performance, and Best Song Written for Visual Media. Now it’s the front-runner for the latter two according to Gold Derby’s odds. But just how common (or uncommon) is it for Oscar-winning songs to have Grammys to their name as well?

Van Morrison unveiled a tender new blues ballad “Dark Night of the Soul,” from his upcoming album, Three Chords and the Truth, out October 25th.
“Dark Night of the Soul” boasts a vintage mid-tempo groove of shuffling drums, silky guitar, rolling piano and the occasional keening organ. Morrison moves with nimble grace over these instrumentals, really showcasing his perennial vocal prowess during the final two minutes of the track, most of which he spends riffing on the titular refrain with an array of deft runs.

"I've Had The Time Of My Life"
(originally by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes)
Now I've had the time of my life
No I never felt like this before
If I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I owe it all to you
I've been waiting for so long
Now I've finally found someone
To stand by me
We saw the writing on the wall
As we felt this magical
Fantasy
Now with passion in our eyes
There's no way we could disguise it
Secretly
So we take each other's hand
'Cause we seem to understand
The urgency just remember
You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So I'll tell you something
This could be love because
I've had the time of my life
No I never felt this way before
Yes I swear...

Nashville – Glen Campbell had many acts in his long career – sought after session guitarist, singer, TV & movie star and country personality – but his greatest contribution to culture may be the 2011 public announcement of his Alzheimer’s disease, and the documentary about the condition, “I’ll Be Me.” Campbell died on August 8th, 2017. He was 81.
The amiable persona he built as a pop music star was amplified by his variety show “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour,” which ran on CBS-tv from 1969 to 1972. The show opened every week with his hit song “Gentle on My Mind,” and featured the good time personality of Campbell interacting with the guests and musical acts, which included an eclectic mix of artists like Ray Charles, The Monkees, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, The Righteous Brothers, Liza Minnelli and Tom Jones. The 1976 murder of Karen Klaas, the ex-wife of Righteous Brothers‘ singer Bill Medley, has finally been solved according to multiple reports — though the public will have to wait until Monday to find out just who did it.

The first dance between a newly married couple can often be incredibly emotional, but these six unique first dances take that principle to the next level.
All we have to say is: We’re not crying. You’re crying.
1. When this paraplegic veteran surprised his bride by dancing at their wedding without their wheelchair.
Sgt. Joey Johnson served in Afghanistan, and when he returned, took up riding motorcycles, which helped him with his post-traumatic stress disorder. But four months after he met Michelle Johnson at a concert in 2012, Johnson had an accident on his motorcycle that left him a paraplegic.

Cue the Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes track, because Nicole Scherzinger is about to have the time of her life.
TV Line reports that the former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman has inked a deal to headline ABC’s Dirty Dancing TV movie as Penny, the role made famous by Cynthia Rhodes in the 1987 classic. In light of the announcement, Scherzinger will now star opposite Colt Prattes – Aka her newfound dance partner, Johnny – and Scream Queens alum Abigail Breslin, who boarded the three-hour feature as Baby before the turn of the year. Meanwhile, Debra Messing is to assume the role of Baby’s mother, Marjorie.
Much like the cult original, Breslin and Prattes will anchor Dirty Dancing as the core couple. The former hails from an affluent family and eventually falls for the resort’s charismatic and charming dance instructor, Johnny. Almost 30 years ago, it was Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey that...

Idina Menzel had the time of her life on Thursday’s “Late Late Show” — so much, in fact, that she was compelled to sing about it. The Broadway star and “Frozen” voice joined host James Corden in a faux spontaneous number straight out of “Dirty Dancing.” The duo nailed “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, adding some choreographed moves to their vocals, which all took place in front of an impressive mini-production. For those wondering — which, let’s be honest, is everyone reading this — Corden and Menzel did stop short of the impressive lift moment.

Idina Menzel belted out one of the biggest songs of 2014. Now, here's her great rendition – with some unlikely help – of a classic hit from 1987.
The actress and singer, 43, visited The Late Late Show on Thursday night and joined James Corden for a surprise performance of "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" – that's right, the classic Bill Medley/Jennifer Warnes duet made famous in Dirty Dancing.
And they did some of that, too, though not quite to the sultry and acrobatic level of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
Check it out above, as Menzel delivers a predictably awesome performance. Oh,...

It's also crunched the numbers to find out the "Most-Loved Love Songs" from the past 50 years, pulling in data from AccuRadio's Love Songs channel. There are a few surprises, like "Hurt You" by Toni Braxton and Babyface, from 2014 - we could have sworn the most romantic song of 2014 was "Drunk in Love." (Only partially joking about that.) Bey does pop up in 2003, for "Crazy in Love," while Taylor Swift, everyone's favorite ambassador of love,...

“I’m a huge fan — she’s a wonderful human being, and I love her to pieces,” Levine said of Stefani. “She’s so talented. She’s just great.”
Fellow coach Blake Shelton chimed in and said that, while he has never actually met Stefani, he’s very aware of who she is.

"The Dukes of Hazzard" premiered 35 years ago, Jan. 26, 1979 on CBS and for the next seven seasons, John Schneider and Tom Wopat were drivin' and slidin' into our hearts -- plus, Catherine Bach, rowr. To celebrate its illustrious anniversary, here are our 1980s TV theme songs (non-animated, because that's a whole other category).
1. "The Dukes of Hazzard" -- It counts because it aired mostly in the '80s. And who doesn't love the golden pipes of Waylon Jennings?
2. "Growing Pains" -- What a great duet. Do you recognize the woman? It's Jennifer Warnes, of "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" fame.
3. "Perfect Strangers" -- This soaring number makes you feel like you can conquer the world right? Or at least leave your home in Mypos for the big city in America.
4. "Cheers" -- This is like comfort food in song form. They just don't make TV theme songs like they used to.

HBO Film has released the first trailer for their new original movie, Phil Spector. The movie was directed by David Mamet and stars Al Pacino sporting all kinds of crazy hairstyles that Spector has had over the years. Pacino has never looked so strange.
