Veteran lyricist Mehboob, who is known for songs such as ‘Dhakka Laga Bukka’, ‘Tanha Tanha Yahan Pe Jeena’, ‘Tadap Tadap’ and many others, has collaborated with playback singer Kunal Ganjawala and music composer Ishwar Kumar for their track ‘Naina Chhalke’. The veteran has shared that it’s a song about one-sided love.
The song is accompanied by a captivating music video shot in Mumbai, adding an extra visual dimension to the music.
Talking about the song, Mehboob said: “‘Naina Chhalke’ is both a love song as well as a sad song. Tears flow in happiness and in sadness too. So, if you listen to the entire song, especially, the antara, you will find two parts. In the first part the boy’s love towards the girl and the separation in the second part. One part is his dream and the second is the reality. This song is about one-sided love.

Alia Bhatt is returning to Student of the Year! This time she is making a special appearance in a song with star Tiger Shroff in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2!
Composed by Vishal and Shekhar and sung by Neha Kakkar & Shekhar Ravjiani, this song, which was shot over four days at Mehboob studio, has a very cool hook both musically and dancically! (Pun intended!) Choreography is by Farah Khan!
Check it out
Talking about the track and working with Tiger, the choreographer said in a recent interview, “Tiger is a brilliant dancer and I am glad we got to work on this track together for the first time. While his dancing style remains the same, ‘The Hookup Song’ has him dancing more like Govinda – thodisi masti and yet massy. I am very excited about the track.”
She also had nothing but praise for Alia’s moves, “Alia’s...

She has been the voice to some of Bollywood’s biggest stars on some of the most beautiful and best tracks in the Hindi film music canon. We are talking about the incredible Madhushree. She was worked with Shankar-Ehsaan- Loy, Sohail Sen, and extensively with Ar Rahman to name a few. From ‘Neem Neem’ (Yuva), to ‘Pal Pal Hai Bhari’ (Swades), ‘Tu Bin Bataye’ (Rang De Basanti), ‘Inn Lamho Ke Daaman Mein’ (Jodha Akbar) and so many more, the singer has brought the emotion and the beauty to life with her incredible voice. And that is just in the Hindi film industry, the singer has also sung for films in the South film industries as well.
I was very excited to be able to do an email interview with one of my favorite singers and even more excited when I received the answers back. Check out Madhushree’s fabulous...

It is where hearts meet, auntyjis gossip and kids have a blast. Navratri shin-digs are the ‘it’ get togethers in the Desi calendar every year. It’s a nine day long festive period where everyone joins in daily for a night of song and dance. Apart from being the social get together of the year the festival has a strong religious meaning. It celebrates nine forms of Goddess Durga, one on each night, hence the name nav-nine ratri-nights. The 10th day is the festival of Dashera, marking the ultimate triumph of good over evil in Indian history.
Unlike any other usual festival, navratri songs and dance are specific. They have a distinct beat and the dance form adopted is garba or dandiya. The song and dance routine of the night, garba or dandiya, also have a strong historical backing as depicts the rasa-lila between Lord Krishna and the gopis of Vrindavan.

After Rangeela, Bombay, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Yuva, Mehboob has once again collaborated with Ar Rahman on the Commonwealth Games theme song. The lyricist says that they have been working on it for almost six months, since the day the Oscar winning composer called to ask him to take the night flight out to Chennai. “Since then, I have made a few more trips to Chennai and occasionally, when Rahman was in Mumbai, we worked here too. We changed the words many times and also the tune. But eventually, we came up something that we both like,” says a ...
