Exclusive: Jim Sheridan, who made news earlier this week when he signed with Wme’s Robert Newman and Manage-Ment’s Dan Halsted, has just committed to rewrite and direct Playing With The Enemy for newly formed New Myth Entertainment. The film is based on the Gary W. Moore book of the same name, which he wrote about how his father put his baseball skills to use during WWII. After being drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers as a 15-year-old prodigy in 1940, Gene Moore joined the Navy and was stationed at a prisoner of war camp in Louisiana. There, he taught German prisoners of war how to play baseball. The film explores both the relationship between the German POWs and their American captors in the isolated camp at the height of the war, but also the relationship between Gene Moore and his son, to whom he is telling the story. New Myth Entertainment...

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have announced that production for the sequel to 2005's "Sin City" is moving forward with plans to shoot this summer. The sequel is now called "Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For." Plot is still under wraps and most of the original cast is expected to return. The film is based on Miller's graphic novel; Miller also co-wrote the script with "The Departed's" William Monahan. Just like the first "Sin City," Miller will co-direct the sequel with Rodriguez. It's unclear whether Quentin Tarantino, who did a stint as a special guest director in the first film, will return to help. I enjoyed the first "Sin City" so I welcome this news with open arms. Here's the complete press release from Weinstein:

It's been seven years since Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller made the first Sin City. After all of these years of talk and rumors about a sequel, it's actually finally happening! Today Dimension Films announced that Sin City 2, which will be called in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, has officially gone into production. There's no information on any of the details of the film’s story, but casting will begin next week, with many of the original cast expected to return. I imagine if you've read the comics then you have a good idea of what the movie will be about.
I enjoyed the first Sin City movie, but it's been so long that the excitement of a sequel has dropped for me. It's cool that they're doing it, but I'm not overly excited about it like I was three years ago. Are you excited about...
