- Jerzy Passendorfer was born on April 8, 1923 in Wilno, Wilenskie, Poland [now Vilnius, Lithuania]. He was a director and writer, known for Powrót (1960), Zamach (1959) and Zabijcie czarna owce (1972). He died on February 20, 2003 in Skolimów, Konstancin-Jeziorna, Mazowieckie, Poland.
- Passendorfer was the son of an artillery colonel in the Polish Army, which gave him some special insight into the psychology of former combatants.
