Belgian pop artist who created surreal pictures for the 1972 cult book "Rock Dreams".
He created dozens of album covers for musicians including David Bowie and the Rolling Stones. He also designed posters for many films, including "Taxi Driver" and "Paris, Texas".
He studied fine arts in Brussels, and moved to Paris in the 1960s planning to become a filmmaker. There he met a group of artists and filmmakers who were among the first in the Pop Art movement.
His work has been exhibited around the world, but he was especially popular in Japan.
