"Fate does funny things sometimes..." A fascinating mix of hand-drawn animation and doc storytelling, this award-winning short film is now available to watch online. The Driver is Red is a short doc film made by animation filmmaker Randall Christopher, and after picking up awards at major festivals all throughout 2018, it's now available for everyone to see. What he discovered in the remote outskirts of Buenos Aires would send shock waves around the world. Featuring Mark Pinter as the voice of Zvi Aharoni. I appreciate how unique, and how detailed, the sketch-style animation is in this. Thanks to Short of the Week for debuting this online. As fans of "The Mindy Project" might have noticed, this week's episode rendered Stephen Tobolowsky's character, Dr. Shulman, somewhat obsolete -- effectively removing him from the show by way of a retirement note. According to HitFix, Tobolowsky is officially exiting the show, and the actor shared his side of the story with the site via email.
"I wasn't in the Thanksgiving show. That was a bad sign. I was told that they wanted Dr. Shulman to be more of an authoritarian. Then I was told that they didn't really want Mindy to have a boss in the office. Then Mindy told me I was being written out of the show," Tobolowsky told Hitfix. "I don't think anything untoward happened. I suspect I was a casualty of a show meeting many different demands from different sources. The people involved were very talented. I hope they succeed."

For Michael Swan Audition Turns Into 'Old Home Week'
By Tracie Powell and Angela Toszegi
What do Michael Swan, Robert Newman, Randolph Mantooth, and Mark Pinter all have in common besides the obvious? They all showed up for the same job interview last week.
“Just came back from the ‘old home week’ audition of all time. All guys I've worked with over the years going back to prime time in the seventies,” said Michael Swan, who portrayed Duncan McKechnie on As The World Turns in the 1980s.
Swan said he was at the audition with Newman (who portrayed the well-loved ‘Josh Lewis’ on Guiding Light) and they were talking about the ill-fated ‘Brad Green’ on Gl and how Mark Pinter took over the part. “His name had no sooner left my lips then (Pinter) walked in the room,” Swan continued. “So great to see him; what a classy and great looking guy.

So you think your life's a soap opera? Tell it to Colleen Zenk! Few daytime actors are as beloved and admired as this brave As the World Turns star, who has survived a very public battle with deadly oral cancer and recently filed for divorce from her husband of 23 years, ex-atwt actor Mark Pinter, on grounds of infidelity and abandonment. Oh, yeah, and her soap got canceled, too. (Atwt's final episode airs this Friday, Sept. 17 on CBS.) TV Guide Magazine spoke with Zenk, a real-life mother of six, as she's about to end her 32-year run as Oakdale firecracker Barbara Ryan. Prepare to...
