In the latest bid to break out of the mid-agency pack, APA has formed a strategic partnership with Europa Content, the boutique literary and production company founded by Marc Gerald.
The goal is to expand APA’s intellectual property and media rights division led by Steve Fisher and Debbie Deuble Hill and to increase resources for both APA and Europa Content clients and creators across all media.
Having access to a publishing house has been a key engine of growth for many agencies, allowing for cross-company collaborations and access to content and intellectual property. APA sees it as a next step as it seeks to position itself apart from the mid-agency level and attempts to position itself as an alternative to top-tier agencies such as CAA, UTA and WME.
“We are thrilled to expand our shared business with Marc and his incredible team at Europa Content,” said Kyle Loftus, head of content development at APA.

King Kong Bundy, who joined the original World Wrestling Federation in the early 1980s and participated in the first two WrestleMania events that helped launch the sport of pro wrestling into the pop culture mainstream, died Monday at age 61. The WWE confirmed the news Tuesday; the cause of death was not disclosed.
Bundy, whose real name was Christopher Pallies and hailed from Atlantic City, NJ, was 6-foot-4 and more than 450 pounds and would finish off most of his overmatched opponents with his signature “avalanche.”
“In fact, Bundy was so powerful that he demanded referees count to five when he pinned his opponents to show that there was no way they were getting up,” the WWE wrote today in a tribute on its website.
Bundy had been scheduled to sign autographs at next month’s WrestleCon in New York City.

Match #1: So Cal Uncensored (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) beat The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark) – Tag Team Match
This was the first of two matches for the Wgn portion of All In called Zero Hour. This was an excellent match that the crowd loved. The action was crisp and got the night started off right.
Match #2: The Over The Budget Battle Royal – Winner: Flip Gordon
This had a few surprises like Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer, but the big shock came from Flip Gordon dressed in a mask and winning the match by eliminating Ray. Flip took the mask off and Ray was pissed. The crowd was thrilled that Flip won and so was I.

Len Kabasinski had a childhood much like many of us – grew up loving genre movies (for him, kung-fu and sci-fi, and sci-fi-kung-fu), but unlike many of us, when he grew up he had the drive and determination to parlay that into a filmmaking career which has now lasted over a decade and gone from strength to strength.
His first film was a little gem called “Swamp Zombies!!!” (yes, three exclamation marks) While it looks a lot like the legions of other no-budget forests-based horror movies that we’ve been subjected to in recent years, it’s differentiated by two things that would become Kabasinski trademarks – oddball casting and excellent fight scenes. The latter can be explained by his being a nationally ranked martial artist and knowing lots of people who can fight well on camera; but the former is probably the first reason I became a fan,...

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE officials have reached out to all talents, including those no longer wrestling but still affiliated with the company, and told them not to have any contact with Hulk Hogan after the racist comments scandal.
This new development arrives after Hogan recently went on a media tour in hope of clearing his name and getting back in Vince McMahon’s good books. The Hulkster still has a one-night appearance in the UK with former WWE talents Lanny Poffo, Jimmy Hart, Outback Jack, Bushwacker Luke and Fred Ottman (Tugboat) coming up, a number of which, still have connections to the company through the Hall of Fame amongst others.

Elimination Chamber has returned, along with WWE’s crummy math skills! This week it was hammered home that Seth Rollins has a “one in six chance” of walking out with his belt. Not to be too much of a stickler, but that only makes sense if every single wrestler is at the exact same skill level. So unless you’re Villano IV and Villano V that logic doesn’t apply here!
Let’s look at a better stat. In the 12 Elimination Chamber matches where the champion had to put his title on the line, they walked out with it…six times! So really, his odds are closer to one in two if you go by booking logic. It doesn’t take a Lanny Poffo to figure this out WWE! Well, elsewhere in the wrestling world, Ring of Honor is coming to Destination America. But are they friends or foes?...

At one point in the late 90’s, World Championship Wrestling had over 250 different performers under contract. It’s truly baffling why management in the company thought this was a good idea, considering only around 40-50 of those wrestlers were used on a regular basis.
When analysing this kind of decision-making, it’s not really that difficult to see why WCW were having financial difficulties, losing a lot of money between 1999-2001. It’s incredible to think that men such as Lanny Poffo were still under contract to WCW as late as 1999, despite never even appearing once for the promotion – signing on in 1995, that’s 4 full years that WCW were paying someone money to never do anything.
Away from such confusing business strategy, there were a plethora of other performers who only appeared briefly for the Atlanta-based group. During the 90’s, there was such a high turnover of WCW staff...

The “Macho Man” Randy Savage was one of the greatest professional wrestlers in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment. His ability in ring, memorable promos (“Oooooh Yeah!”), charisma and flashy ring attire made him stand out from the pack. He wasn’t the biggest, but he was definitely one of the best.
If you grew up watching WWE in the mid to late 1980s into the early 1990s then there’s a very good chance that you grew up wanting to be like him. He was arguably WWE’s second star of that era behind only Hulk Hogan although if you had to compare them in terms of talent, Savage was much better in the ring. He’s the guy that people pointed to because he was special.
There was a Randy Savage DVD was released by WWE a few weeks ago that provided us with a lot info about his amazing life.

The WWE DVD release of ‘Macho Man – The Randy Savage Story’ is going to be notable for several reasons. It has been suggested that it’s a precursor to Savage Finally going into the WWE Hall Of Fame. It is also WWE’s first documentary style look at just what exactly did go wrong between Macho and Vince in the mid nineties.
The DVD and Blu Ray will be available from Mid November and comprises a full documentary and various classic matches over a three disc set. Given the revelations in the documentary, and the rare matches being unavailable on WWE Network, this is one purchase that wrestling fans aren’t going to want to miss.
Having watched an advance copy, we’ve learned several things. The impressive documentary does not disappoint. The production is almost as good as WWE’s recent Paul Heyman DVD release. There’s plenty...

When I first began watching professional wrestling, some 22 years ago in 1992, the one wrestler who made me sit up and take notice was “Macho Man” Randy Savage. My first wrestling event I ever saw features Savage and Ric Flair wrestling for the WWF Championship in Indiana at WrestleMania 8. Randy Savage has been a favourite of mine ever since, a remarkable performer, he truly had the “it” that promoters in wrestling look for year after year. A top-class wrestler who, in many ways, was ahead of his time, Savage was also truly original on the microphone with his trademark growl-voice and catch-phrases like “Ooh Yeah”, “Dig it!” and “Snap into a Slim Jim!” The latter of which, as silly as it sounds, helped solidify Savage as a household name, someone that even non-fans of wrestling had heard of.

Randy Savage is more likely than ever to go into the WWE Hall of Fame, according to the latest figure four weekly newsletter.
This is coming off the back of a new WWE DVD / Blu Ray project which will feature a full documentary on the Macho Man. Cooperating and being interviewed for the new Savage release is his brother Lanny Poffo. This increased featuring of Savage and the blessing of his family make a WWE 2015 Hall of Fame induction a strong possibility. The Newsletter report believes that the most likely line up for next year’s Hall of Fame class will be The Rock, Savage, Kevin Nash, Victoria or Mickie James and Rikishi.
In analysing the Savage move, it isn’t too surprising to see WWE edge closer to finally recognising his legend. Triple H is taking the reigns off of Vince McMahon a bit and pushing the importance of WWE history.

It’s been reported by PWInsider that WWE is working on a “Macho Man” Randy Savage documentary for a future DVD release.
This wouldn’t be the first DVD about Savage because WWE released a 3-disc set in 2009 that featured only his matches. By that point the company had done a lot of documentaries of wrestlers, but the Savage one lacked one. It was a disappointment at the time because it would have been great to see WWE tell his story the right way. Here we are five years later and it looks like WWE is finally ready to pay tribute to the Macho Man.
Savage is generally considered by fans to be the greatest WWE performer that is not in the WWE Hall of Fame. He left the company in 1994 to go to WCW and never returned to WWE before passing away in 2011. The only involvement he...

While being successful in professional wrestling can potentially earn a superstar a ton of cash, there’s not much financial security to fall back on. Once a wrestler’s popularity comes to an end, or a sudden injury occurs that takes them out of action for an uncertain amount of time, perhaps even permanently, their net worth starts to plummet. Not too many wrestlers are able to give twenty or even thirty plus years of their life to sports entertainment. When it comes time to put away the trunks for good, some wrestlers don’t have a secondary plan for working. Some wrestlers try to stick with pro wrestling even when their bodies aren’t in great shape which can lead to a lot of health issues. They have to force themselves through this because they don’t have any other means of making money.
But not every wrestler ends up this way.

His opponent, and one of the best wrestlers in WWE today, is Antonio Cesaro, clad in a “We the People” flag. The match begins with Cesaro nailing Leo with a flying dropkick. We have duelling chants of “we the people” and “let’s go Kruger”. Both men are over because of their skills in the ring and the fact that they have reputations that precede their WWE careers. Over the years there have been several wrestlers who were more famous for their facial hair than they were their in ring ability. For example, Hulk Hogan was the hands down king of American wrestling for much of the 1980′s and some of the 1990′s. But what do you remember him for? It wasn’t his high risk, exciting offence in the old squared circle that’s for sure. Ok it might have been his saggy man boobs and hideous yellow pants but for the most part you remember his fantastic moustache. The same could be said of other (ahem) classic era wrestlers like Lanny Poffo or Skinner while some more talented wrestlers like Bruiser Brody, Jeff Hardy and The Undertaker have all at some time or another rocked awesome nose neighbours.
But perhaps the greatest facial hair in the history of the sport belongs to none other than Daniel Bryan.

Former wrestler Hulk Hogan is "completely devastated" by the death of his old friend Randy Savage because they only recently patched up their differences after more than a decade of no contact.
Savage, widely known as Macho Man, was killed in a car crash in Tampa, Florida on Friday morning after suffering a heart attack behind the wheel, his brother Lanny Poffo has told TMZ.com. He was 58.
Fighter-turned-actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson led the tributes to the wrestling icon soon after news of the tragedy broke, and now Hogan and a host of other industry professionals have added their sympathies.
Hogan admits he wishes he had rekindled his friendship with Savage sooner.
He writes on his Twitter.com page, "I'm completely devastated, after over 10 years of not talking with Randy, we've (sic) finally started to talk and communicate.
"He had so much life in his eyes & in his spirit, I just pray that he's happy and in a better place and we miss him. We miss him a lot. I feel horrible about the 10 years of having no communication. This was a tough one."
Meanwhile, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) president Vince McMahon has branded Savage one of the "greatest superstars of his time".
Florida police have launched an investigation into the accident, although officials state both Savage and his wife Lynn, who suffered only minor injuries, were wearing their seatbelts when the incident occurred. Cops have also ruled out alcohol as a factor in the crash.
An autopsy is scheduled to take place on Saturday.

Used to watch wrestling with my dad when I was a kid, and Randy Savage was one of the mega stars of wrestling “back in the day”. Sorry to hear this, for sure. TMZ spoke with Randy’s brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 Am … and lost control of his vehicle. Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn. Savage was 58. Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase “Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh.” Savage was so popular, he became the spokesperson for Slim Jim in the mid ’90s … and became virtually synonymous with the brand. Again, no alcohol, nothing illegal. He just had a heart attack while driving. His wife Lynn was in the car with him, but she only suffered “minor injuries” and is currently in the hospital.
