Began his career as an opera singer in his native Sicily.
Performed infrequently on Broadway from 1916-1928. Porcasi ended his
theatrical career in the smash hit "Broadway" as Nick Verdis that ran
from Sept. 16, 1926 to Feb. 11, 1928 (603 performances) at the
Broadhurst Theatre.
Memorable as "Nick the Greek" in 'Broadway' (1929).
Character actor noted for his portrayals of tough, often cigar-puffing men of authority, none of whom would ever tolerate sass from an underling. He might have cautioned, "I don't wanna hear no lip from nobody - get me?".
