Robert Prosky was born on December 13, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He was an actor, known for Thief (1981), Broadcast News (1987) and Mrs. Doubtfire (1993). He was married to Ida Hove. He died on December 8, 2008 in Washington, District of Columbia, USA.
Received a degree in Economics from Temple University. Later worked as
a bookkeeper with the Federal Reserve Bank while taking acting classes
at the American Theatre Wing in New York.
Got into acting via a a scholarship to New York's American Theatre Wing through a TV talent contest.
Appeared on Broadway in "A View From the Bridge, " "Glengarry, Glen
Ross" (Tony nomination for Featured Actor) and "A Walk In the Woods"
(Tony nomination for Best Actor).
