Getting a film financed is a fine art, and Kickstarter has allowed small films safer passage to the big screen but Wartime Wanderers, a new film based on the book by Tim Purcell and Mike Gething, has a little extra incentive to for would-be investors to get involved.
I had the chance to speak with Tim Purcell, who is also on producing duties for the film, and he was keen to play up the scope of the project, and its relevance beyond Bolton, beyond football as a heroic story of a team of men who went to war. He went on to explain the charity aspect of the funding which will see any investment initially go to fund the film and once the film goes into profit all of the investments made through this scheme will go to a group of charities.

If one more journalist asks Rupert Grint, a.k.a. Harry Potter's bestest bud Ron Weasly, "What's next for you?" he's likely to throw an Avada Kedavra. Thankfully, he doesn't have to worry about that anymore, because the question's been answered... sort of.
Assuming the film gets fully financed (check out their site to see how you can get involved if you have a few grand laying around) Grint is set to star in "Wartime Wanderers," a film about the 1939 Bolton Wanderers quidditch football (soccer) team that, after a rousing speech by captain Harry Goslin, enlisted in World War II as a group and became the 53rd Field Regiment of the Bolton Artillery, seeing action in North Africa, France and Italy.
Grint is attached to play team funnyman Ernie Forrest and will appear alongside film and Broadway star Jonathan Pryce (first three "Pirates of the Caribbean" films, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra...

"Harry Potter" regular Rupert Grint and veteran thesp Jonathan Pryce have both joined the WW2 soccer flick "Wartime Wanderers" reports The Guardian.
The story follows the 1939 Bolton Wanderers F.C. team who enlisted to active duty en masse: a rarity among professional footballers of the time and saw action in France, North Africa and Italy. Only one of the 15 team members, captain Harry Goslin, was killed in action.
Pryce will play the team’s manager, while Grint will play the team joker Ernie Forrest. "Krod Mandoon" and "Meet the Spartans" hunk Sean Maguire will play Goslin.
Also onboard are Matthew McNulty as Ray Westwood, and Bradley Walsh as the Sergeant Major and the team's army handler. David Whitney (“Kandahar Break") directs from a script Jack Seddon and Tim Purcell adapted from Purcell's book.

Mexico City -- Private equity firm Linzor Capital reportedly will purchase Chilean TV network Chilevision for $130 million, according to local media.
Recently elected Chilean president Sebastian Pinera currently owns the terrestrial channel. A former media investor, Pinera is making good on his campaign promise to sell his stake in Chilevision to avoid a conflict of interest with his new role as head of state.
Argentine media giant Grupo Clarin and Mexico's Televisa had emerged as other potential buyers.
Chilevision's spokesman was not immediately available for comment.
Santiago-based Linzor Capital was established in 2006. Prior to that, co-founders Tim Purcell and Carlos Irigoin managed J.P. Morgan Partners Latin America.
The Chilean newspaper La Tercera reported that under the agreement, a group of Chilevision executives will acquire a minority stake in the broadcaster.
