The Young and the Restless fans have something to celebrate because Christel Khalil is back playing Lily Winters on the hit CBS soap.
Christel and Lily have been Mia since December, when Lily left to be near her daughter Mattie after a fire near her school.
It should be common knowledge now that Lily was written out so Christel could go on maternity leave.
The actress was expecting her second child, a son, in December.

When will Christel Khalil be back on screen as Lily Winters on The Young and the Restless?

It’s good news for The Young and the Restless fans, as Veronica Redd will be returning to Geona City on Tuesday, September 26, reprising her fan-favorite role as Mamie Johnson. Redd first joined the long-running soap in 1990, taking over from Marguerite Ray as the Abbott family’s housekeeper Mamie, which she continued to play until 2004 (after a four-year hiatus from 95-99) when she parted ways with the show. However, Redd returned briefly earlier this year for the soap’s 50th-anniversary celebration. It isn’t yet clear how long Redd will be back, but fans should expect to see Mamie once again reconnecting with the Abbotts, who have been going through their own drama as of late. The siblings are currently at war following Jack’s (Peter Bergman) marriage to Diane (Susan Walters) and Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) engagement to Tucker (Trevor St. John). Maybe Mamie can help whip them into shape?...

Dust off your tuxedo or ball gown and grab a stylish mask. You’re invited to Genoa City’s Bicentennial Gala! Which, as luck would have it, coincides with The Young and the Restless’ 50th anniversary. At the center of the multi-episode event is the couple that personifies Y&r’s beating heart: Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), who become, according to exec producer Josh Griffith, “the overseers of the story pieces that are coming together during the celebration.” One of those pieces is Victor defying the wishes of offspring Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) by trying to bring black-sheep son Adam (Mark Grossman) back into the family business. Another piece? Vindictive Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), hoping to finally take down rival Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), who is currently engaged to Phyllis’ stoic ex-husband Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Expect the return of familiar faces like...

Sally Spectra’s brutal firing from the fictional Newman Media may be nothing compared to the real-life pink slips just handed out in the writing department at CBS’s top-rated daytime drama “The Young and the Restless.”
Co-executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith has sacked all five writers that comprised the show’s breakdown writing staff, multiple individuals with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap.
According to one insider, Griffith said eliminating the breakdown writing staff — those writers responsible for mapping out story lines across multiple episodes — is a cost-cutting move, and that he will take on the task of writing breakdowns himself.
“The timing of the firings is suspect given that WGA negotiations were coming up and the show is celebrating a major milestone with its 50th anniversary,” the individual said. “Even more brutal is that four of the five writers of the breakdown staff are all women,...

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has apologized for misrepresenting actor Marguerite Ray with a photo of living actor Veronica Redd in the In Memoriam segment that aired during the 48th annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
A photo of Redd appeared under the caption that identified her as Ray, who died last November, during the pre-recorded ceremony that aired Friday on CBS. Ray had a 10-year run on the CBS soap “The Young and the Restless” from 1980 to 1990 as the character Mamie Johnson. Redd took over the role in 1990 for 14 years.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has apologized for running a photo of the wrong deceased “The Young and the Restless” actress during the 48th Annual Daytime Emmys’ In Memoriam segment Friday night.
During the moving segment in which the Academy pays respect to those in the industry who have passed away within the last 12 months, Marguerite Ray’s name was flashed on the screen, but it was accompanied by a photograph of Veronica Redd, who is still alive.
Ray, who died in November at the age of 89, originated the role of Mamie Johnson on “Y&r” in 1980; Redd took over the role upon Ray’s exit in 1990.
