Exclusive: Netflix has set the premiere for the upcoming comedy special Keith Robinson: Different Strokes for Tuesday, June 11.
In the one-hour special, Robinson will share raw personal stories from the aftermath of two life-altering strokes as well as insight into his recovery and the challenges he’s faced while navigating his new disabilities. The comedian, who has kept people laughing for the last four decades, will continue to use his signature personal and brutally honest approach to this story.
“Coming up with the title Different Strokes was a ‘Stroke of Genius.’ Stupidity, mixed with Perseverance! I loved making this special and thanks to all who helped make this happen,” Robinson shared in a statement to Deadline.
Wanda Sykes—who Robinson worked with on The Wanda Sykes Show— and Amy Schumer—his Trainwreck co-star and former podcast co-host— were part of Robinson’s audience when Different...

Kevin Hart received comedy’s ultimate honor — a deluge of insults mixed with genuine reverence — as he received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Sunday night, March 24.
Hart himself took a supremely earnest approach to the night as he addressed the audience at the end of the evening. Per The Washington Post, he teared up while thanking his kids (“I breathe for you. I live for you”); credited his mother with shaping him into the person and comedian he became (“Take my mom away,...

Washington, D.C. — Kevin Hart was feted Sunday with the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize in a traditionally raucous affair that drew praise and flak in equal measure from a handful of comedic colleagues on hand for the occasion. The ceremony will air later this year on Netflix as part of the streamer’s multiyear deal with the Kennedy Center event.
Previous Twain honoree Dave Chappelle was on hand to salute the multifaceted entertainer whose standup comedic talents are matched by his prowess as film actor, producer, restauranteur and beverage magnate. So was Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and Tiffany Haddish, among other friends and fellow comedians.
That extensive resume was ample grist for colleagues who trooped onto the Center’s Concert Hall stage as Hart and his family sat in a nearby box. The show concluded with the presentation of the award, a miniature Twain bust, by Kennedy Center chairman David Rubenstein.

As Kevin Hart sat in the audience with family and friends for The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize, there were many jokes about his height, quips about his wealth and jabs at his productivity.
What there was very little of was anything political, reflecting Hart’s own style that tends to avoid such topical humor.
Chris Rock did have one moment, though.
“The Mark Twain Award this year. If Trump wins, next year will be the Mark Fuhrman award,” Rock said.
As the audience laughed, Rock added, “It’s going to be nothing but banjos up there.”
He also was among the comics who did a bit of roasting of Hart. “Look at that smile,” Rock said. “You got that second wife happiness.” Hart, surrounded by his wife and kids, laughed.
Like others, though, Rock talked of Hart’s rise to become one of the most successful comedians of all time,...

The show will also feature Dave Burd aka Lil Dicky, Dave Chappelle, Jimmy Fallon, Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Chelsea Handler, Nelly, The Plastic Cup Boyz, Keith Robinson, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, and J.B. Smoove.

Kevin Hart has gotten far in life thanks to his natural comedic abilities. But earlier in his career, he wanted to get even further and tried to impress the same person who helped find Eddie Murphy. Hart, however, didn’t get the response he might’ve wanted after his performance.
Kevin Hart was told he didn’t measure up to comedians like Eddie Murphy Eddie Murphy and Kevin Hart | Maury Phillips / Getty Images
Like many comedians, Eddie Murphy was one of the comics who the Lift star looked up to. Hart considered himself to be funny from a young age. He described himself as a class clown who got the comedy bug after performing stand-up on a whim. Although he was working as a shoe salesman then, Hart seemed to have found his calling.
“My energy was great. I made my co-workers smile all the time. And I was a good salesman.

Chris Rock and Kevin Hart, these names are always synonyms with laughter and humor, and of course, they are the doyens of standup comedy in the United States of America. When these two people come together no room can stay silent because most people are busy holding their stomachs and trying hard to control the laughter. For the first time, these two absolute giants who belong to two different generations of comedy come together to perform a standup special for a live audience.
There is genuine excitement for Chris Rock & Kevin Hart: Headliners Only, a Netflix original documentary that takes the audience through the behind-the-scenes footage of this standup special that spanned five shows. The documentary also covers the lives and times of the two struggling comics and their journeys to become among the most bankable comics of their respective generation. Directed by Rashidi Natara Harper, the Netflix Original documentary...

Amy Schumer isn't interested in any faux sympathy from her faux dad.
The comedian, 34, shared a funny text exchange with Colin Quinn – who played her onscreen father in her hit comedy Trainwreck – on Tuesday, after losing out on the Golden Globe for best actress in a motion picture, musical or comedy, to pal Jennifer Lawrence Sunday night.
"Even tho u didnt win take comfort in the fact that u have friends like me in your life. Forever."
Schumer's blunt response? "Please leave me alone"

Sorry guys: Amy Schumer won't have time to hang tonight - she'll be too busy possibly winning a Golden Globe. Schumer's best friend and fellow comedian, Rachel Feinstein, learned this lesson herself this morning, according to a text exchange the Trainwreck star shared on Instagram. "Want to hang at cellar later? I'll be there at 8:15," Festein texted, referring to New York City's Comedy Cellar. Schumer's response is deadpan: "I have plans tonight." Stand-up comic and actress Wanda Sykes recently unveiled her vision of a Saturday night talk show. Is it a keeper or should she stick to The New Adventures of Old Christine?
The Wanda Sykes Show is a late night talk show that airs once a week. It's hosted by Sykes and her trademark biting wit to a monologue, skits, and interviews. Comedian Keith Robinson co-stars as her sidekick.
The show debuted on November 7th to a 2.2 household rating. According to Variety, that placed the Wanda Sykes premiere 16% higher than the average of MADtv a year earlier (1.9/4) and double the performance of Talk Show with Spike Feresten from last winter (1.1/2).
The first episode was also in part competing against the highest-rated episode of Saturday Night Live of the season.
