Prentiss will have a personal storyline in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2, focusing on the death of Deputy Director Bailey. Showrunner Erica Messer teases Prentiss's struggles with Bailey's death, as the new season picks up only two weeks later. The new season could explore Prentiss's relationships outside of the Bau, showing a different side to her character.
Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 will give Emily Prentiss a personal storyline. Paget Brewster may not be an original cast member of the police procedural, but she is part of the most enduring team that the Bau has had in its 16 seasons on the air. Prentiss has taken the role as the squad leader, replacing Aaron Hotchner when Thomas Gibson abruptly left Criminal Minds. As she continues to spearhead her team, she will also have her own issues to deal with when Criminal Minds: Evolution returns for season 2.

Somehow, in the midst of the “first quarter” of the year’s cinematic doldrums and discards a nice surprise “pops’ up to jolt you awake, or at the least engage your senses. And it’s even rarer that it’s from a relative newcomer or an artist that’s not yet “on the radar”. That changes now. Like many creatives, she’s far from an “overnight star”, as her IMDb lists more than a dozen or so acting credits. And then there are several listings of “behind the camera” work, in features and shorts on the big screen and small. Now, with this release she’s a true “triple threat” as she makes her feature directing debut while emoting in nearly every scene. Film fans, here to inject much-needed energy and a bit of snark into the “rom-com” is Leah McKendrick in Scrambled.

Things get very eggs-istential in Scrambled, the hilarious new comedy from Leah McKendrick, who’s been generating buzz for penning the I Know What You Did Last Summer requel directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge). McKendrick wrote, directed, and starred in her new film based on her own experience deciding to freeze her eggs.
The irreverent, witty, and heartwarming indie movie tracks eternal bridesmaid Nellie Robinson (McKendrick) feeling the biological clock ticking amidst thirtysomething life and bleak romantic prospects. Mustering up courage, Nellie embarks on an empowering journey to freeze her eggs, only to realize that she’s “the one” she’s been looking for.
The comedy also stars Ego Nwodim (SNL), Andrew Santino, Adam Rodriguez, Laura Cerón (Station 19), and Clancy Brown. The film marks McKendrick’s directorial debut. It’s yet another creative coup for the filmmaker, who’d been tapped to write the Grease prequel Summer...

Shining Vale star Mira Sorvino was the favorite heading into Tuesday’s (January 2) Celebrity Jeopardy! semi-finals, but it was Abbott Elementary‘s Lisa Ann Walter who made an impressive comeback to take home the win. The semi-finals saw Sorvino facing off against Walter and Ghosts star Utkarsh Ambudkar, and it initially looked like Sorvino’s game to lose. She’d previously won her first game against CSI: Miami actor Adam Rodriguez and NFL Network host Peter Schrager, which aired just a day after she was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars. Jeopardy! producer Sarah Whitcomb Foss previously described this episode as “her favorite match of the season,” and it certainly lived up to the billing as all three contestants got out to a hot start, with all three within $300 at the first break. Walter had a slight lead after the Jeopardy! round after finding the first Daily Double, going into...

"What if I screw this up? I don't even know if I want kids!" Lionsgate has unveiled the trailer for another new sex comedy called Scrambled, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Leah McKendrick. Thirty-something Nellie Robinson is your quintessential eternal bridesmaid. When a doctor visit reveals her fertility may be in jeopardy, she stares down the barrel of a future without options and decides to freeze her eggs. The arduous (and pricey) process sends her on a journey of self-examination, confronting past lovers, dreams and regrets, and ultimately bringing her face to face with the one she’s meant to be with forever: Herself. Starring Leah McKendrick as Nellie, Ego Nwodim, Andrew Santino, Adam Rodriguez, Laura Cerón, and Clancy Brown. This received mostly positive reviews at the fest, praising the structure: "the film has quick quips, good timing, and tight pacing." Looks like it is honest & fun with plenty of spunk.

We've been clamoring for more Criminal Minds since Criminal Minds Evolution Season 1 left us gasping due to its shocking revelations.
Despite scoring a speedy renewal, the long-running drama that morphed into a streaming series a year ago hasn't yet entered production.
Earlier this year, there was word that filming would begin imminently, so fresh episodes were on the air for fans quickly.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes brought Hollywood to a standstill, meaning no new episodes could be produced.
Recently, both guilds reached deals with the AMPTP to fairly compensate writers and actors for their work, clearing the way for production to get underway.
Paget Brewster took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to a fan to give some updates about the show and it's good news.

Criminal Minds: Evolution star A.J. Cook opens up about how her real life influenced her character, JJ. Criminal Minds aired on CBS for 15 years, followed by a short break before the show was revived on Paramount+ as Criminal Minds: Evolution. The show tracks the members of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (Bau) through some genuinely horrifying cases, and JJ, along with her work family, changed a lot through the years, as she deals with the trauma that comes with tracking down serial killers for a living.
Criminal Minds: Evolution picks up during the pandemic, and the show reflects some of the real-world issues that the actors were dealing with, including Cook's husband, Nathan Andersen, being diagnosed with cancer. While Andersen is now cancer-free, Cook explains to Good Housekeeping how the event influenced JJ and herself, shaping how they work through hard times. The actor explains:

The stars of Criminal Minds are very versatile. When they aren’t profiling serial killers on-screen, many of them are behind the cameras, directing their fellow cast members. Over the years, Criminal Minds has aired more than 30 episodes directed by cast members. That includes Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Joe Mantegna, and more. Here’s a complete list of episodes directed by the stars.

Adam Rodriguez joined the cast of Criminal Minds as Luke Alvez in season 12. Not long after his debut on the series, Rodriguez put his past directing experience to use by taking the lead on two episodes. Then, when Criminal Minds returned for the revival (a.k.a. season 16), he directed another episode.

Warning! Spoilers for season 1 of Criminal Minds: Evolution!
Now that Criminal Minds: Evolution season 1 is over, it may have set up a way for Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) to return. Criminal Minds: Evolution reintroduced the police procedural with a strong story and villain tied to global events while also interweaving character development for some of the returning members of the cast, including David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness). But despite this strong showing for the season, one glaring absence is still very apparent: Dr. Spencer Reid. With the character’s popularity, it’s interesting to examine how Criminal Minds: Evolution plans to bring the fan-favorite character back.
Criminal Minds: Evolution is a continuation of the show that ran for 15 seasons from 2005. The revival saw the return of many of the original Criminal Minds cast members, including Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), Jennifer Jareau (A.J. Cook...

The Criminal Minds: Evolution Luke and Penelope pairing has been shipped by viewers since the original series, and the revival of Evolution tantalizingly breathes life into those thirsty Garvez fantasies once more. Garvez, the fan-base devised, combined surnames of Kirsten Vangsness' Penelope Garcia and Adam Rodriguez's Luke Alvez, had been a painfully desired match up until the cancelation of Criminal Minds that capped the series at season 15. Upon its renewal for its latest installment, Criminal Minds: Evolution provides the Bau the opportunity for even more exciting escapades that now include, to every fan's delight, a developing in-house romance.
This is especially exciting, seeing as time and again, Penelope Garcia has been underutilized in Criminal Minds. Penelope's quirky and amusing identity, in addition to her fun banter with the rest of the Bau, has always served as the best comic relief for the grim nature of the crime series, but...

Channing Tatum is back for Magic Mike’s Last Dance, the final installment of the Magic Mike movie series, and is joined by a full cast of exciting characters. Directed by Steven Soderberg, Magic Mike’s Last Dance follows Mike Lane, who is bartending in LA after a bad business deal until he meets a wealthy socialite. Mike goes to London to direct a new stage show, bringing in plenty of new characters for his crew, as well as the occasional familiar face.
The third and final installment of the Magic Mike series takes a step away from focusing on Mike and his crew to make Magic Mike’s Last Dance more female-focused. This new approach means plenty of fresh faces. However, the threequel also features several major Magic Mike cameos from Mike’s original crew, with Joe Manganiello’s Richie, Matt Bomer’s Ken, Kevin Nash’s Tarzan, and Adam Rodriguez...

Warning! Spoilers for season 1 of Criminal Minds: Evolution!
The actor who plays Criminal Minds: Evolution’s Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) is right about her character’s recently-ended romance. While such interpersonal relationships help add new dimensions to police procedurals such as Criminal Minds by granting some reprieves from the grimness of the serial killer plot lines, they can bring pitfalls of their own. This is especially true when the Behavioral Analysis Unit (Bau) is particularly challenged by a case, which can serve to push romantic relationships to their breaking points as well. In such events, it’s interesting to see how the show’s actors feel about a relationship since they undeniably know their characters best.
Throughout the original run of Criminal Minds, Garcia seemed to grow close with several of members of the cast of characters on Criminal Minds, including Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) and Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez...

Warning! Spoilers for season 1 of Criminal Minds: Evolution!
Criminal Minds: Evolution wrapped its season with a perfect setup for a new mystery in season 2. With the return of the crime drama, the show has been flexing its ingenuity with new criminals and villains that push the envelope for Criminal Minds’ formatting, particularly in response to world events. This is what helped to keep the show so successful throughout its previous 15 seasons, and it seems as though the next season of the show is angling to consider another new plot thread to challenge the Behavioral Analysis Unit.
Criminal Minds: Evolution is a reboot of the original show, which ended in 2005. After the event, he meets Max (Salma Hayek), the hostess of said event, who needs a spark added to her life. This article contains spoilers for the Criminal Minds: Evolution season 1 finale.
Police procedural drama Criminal Minds has captivated fans since its debut in 2005. The cancellation of the original series on CBS in 2020 didn’t stop fans from desperately wishing the show would return, which it did two years later under a new title, Criminal Minds: Evolution.
The first season of the Paramount+ reboot wrapped up on a high note as FBI agents Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Jennifer “JJ” Jareau (A.J. Cook), Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) worked against the clock to rescue Rossi and to locate the one of the worst serial killers the Bau had ever seen, Elias Voit (Zach Gilford) a.k.a. Sicarius, a.k.a Lee Duval – his birth name. Throughout the season we saw how Voit not only added to his body count...

When Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike was released in 2012, it’s doubtful that anyone knew entirely what to expect. A film about male strippers that was loosely based on the star of the film, Channing Tatum, and his own experiences in the world of stripping seemed unlikely to spawn a sprawling and vocal fanbase—much less the Magic Mike Cinematic Universe (or Mmcu for short). But that’s exactly what it did.
From the opening speech and the now famous line of “I think I see some lawbreakers in here,” drawled enticingly by the club’s compere Dallas (Matthew McConaughey), it was pretty clear that a good time was coming. Set in sweltering Tampa, Florida, the film centers around the star of Dallas’ show, Mike Lane (Tatum), who is working day and night trying to achieve his dreams of starting his own furniture business. By day he works construction and...

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Magic Mike 3!Channing Tatum’s character is no longer dancing with the Kings of Tampa in Magic Mike’s Last Dance, though brief cameos hint at what became of the male strippers. In Magic Mike 3, Mike Lane’s furniture business is failing which means he must return to his former career of stripping and dancing. Rather than getting back together with the Kings of Tampa, the Floridian group of male strippers he worked with in Magic Mike and its 2015 sequel, Mike is on a solo journey to London with the wealthy theater owner Maxandra (Salma Hayek), with whom he trains a new group of dancers.
While the Kings of Tampa are regrettably not the main focus of Magic Mike’s Last Dance, several of the original dancers do make brief cameos in the trilogy-ending film. Magic Mike's Channing Tatum is the only original...

Criminal Minds: Evolution wrapped up its freshman run on Paramount+ this week, and while there was some resolution, there were plenty of questions remaining.
Thankfully, a second season of the revival is in the works, and it sounds like we're getting new episodes sooner rather than later.
Paget Brewster, who plays Emily Prentiss, took to Twitter on Thursday with an exciting update.
"Guys, we are coming back so fast it'll make your head spin," the star shared.
"Because of you. We start shooting in 2 months, thank you, thank you, thank you."
Criminal Minds Evolution Season 1 started filming in August and was on the air in November, so by that logic, the show should be back on the air in the summer.
Criminal Minds: Evolution completely revamped Criminal Minds by taking on a more serialized nature, which set itself apart from the original series.

Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for the season finale of Criminal Minds: Evolution. On this season of Criminal Minds: Evolution, a revival of the long-running CBS drama, Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Jennifer “JJ” Jareau (A.J. Cook), Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) have faced off against one of the most notorious and nefarious serial killers they have ever seen: Elias Voit (Zach Gilford) a.k.a. Sicarius, who has amassed a body count of over fifty (that they know of) since 2005. As they’ve worked through his network of serial killers that he created during the pandemic, they’ve caught several other killers, but he has eluded them. At least, until the penultimate episode of the season, where one of the profilers finally catches a big break.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 16 finale, “Dead End.”] Criminal Minds: Evolution might have ended its 16th season with the FBI suffering a loss — Deputy Director Bailey (Nicholas D’Agosto), we were just starting to like you! — but every member of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (Bau) — David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), Jennifer “J.J.” Jareau (A.J. Cook), Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), and Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez) — survived. And the good news is they’ll all be back for Season 17 (picked up in January). “The main cast members are all coming back,” showrunner Erica Messer confirms to TV Insider. “And then deals are still being made for some of the other faces you saw this year.” But what about the two profilers with the Bau at the end of the original run (2005-2020 on CBS) we didn’t see but only heard tidbits about in Season...

Steven Soderbergh's "Magic Mike" offered a unique glimpse into the world of male entertainment, with a stacked cast to back it up. Channing Tatum has proven to be a versatile actor, but the moves he's able to perform on the dance floor are unbelievable. The film is loosely based on Tatum's actual experiences as a young male entertainer when he was performing in Tampa, Florida. Although Soderbergh sat out for "Magic Mike Xxl," the highly acclaimed filmmaker is returning for the latest installment "Magic Mike's Last Dance." But as excited as I am for that, we need to take a breath, embrace the sweat, and talk about the series' sophomore sequel for a moment.
Tatum is undoubtedly the lead in "Magic Mike Xxl," but its greatest secret weapon is its ensemble, which includes Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, Gabriel Iglesias, Jada Pinkett Smith, Elizabeth Banks, and Donald Glover.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from the Thursday, February 9 finale of “Criminal Minds: Evolution,” now streaming on Paramount+.
The profilers on “Criminal Minds” know a thing or two about catching a killer. This season, the first of “Criminal Minds: Evolution,” did something they’ve never done before by following one UnSub through the season. Elias Voit/Sicarius (Zach Gilford) was finally arrested during the finale — and Rossi (Joe Mantegna) was rescued.
While the mystery of tracking down Sicarius was solved, Elias opened the door on a whole new mystery, muttering the secret phrase “gold star,” one that had hidden meaning to one agent, Doug Bailey (Nicholas D’Agosto), who was killed for knowing what it meant. Here, showrunner Erica Messer breaks down what that mystery means for Season 17, whether Tyler (Ryan-James Hatanaka) will return and the future of Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) and Alvez (Adam Rodriguez).

The "Magic Mike" movies are ostensibly about men, or at the very least about one man (Channing Tatum's titular "Magic" Mike), but the women of the franchise have an important role, too. Mike has had his romantic interests through each film, like Cody Horn's Brooke in "Magic Mike," Amber Heard's Zoe in "Magic Mike Xxl," and now Salma Hayek Pinault in "Magic Mike's Last Dance," but the second movie also has two brilliant, beautiful bisexual women who have carved out positions of power in the world of male stripping: Jada Pinkett Smith's Rome and Elizabeth Banks' Paris. Rome and Paris, besides sharing place-based names, also share some kind of romantic or sexual past together, and they're the kind of women that make fems everywhere want to scream "#Goals!".

Plot: After his construction company shuts down, a down and out Mike (Channing Tatum) accepts an offer from a wealthy divorcee (Salma Hayek) to fly to London and mount a spectacular stage show.
Review: Magic Mike’s Last Dance is the Staying Alive to the original’s Saturday Night Fever. It’s wholly unnecessary and loses all of the grit, edge and charm that made the original (and its fun sequel) such a sensation. Director Steven Soderbergh has made a tame third entry in the franchise that borders on prudish. We’re supposed to think we’re watching something risqué and naughty, but this is a movie that avoids strip clubs altogether and climaxes in a finale that seems cribbed from the Magic Mike Live stage show and has no nudity whatsoever, with none of the dancers even daring to wear g-strings. The CBS procedural Criminal Minds came to an end after 15 seasons in early 2020, leaving our beloved profilers — Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Jennifer Jareau (A.J. Cook), Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), Matt Simmons (Daniel Henney), Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), and Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) — with one final win as they stopped Everett Lynch a.k.a. The Chameleon (Michael Mosley). As Garcia took her leave from the team but remained a vital part of the Behavior Analysis Unit family, fans also bid farewell to these characters seemingly for the last time. While the finale didn’t exactly wrap up the characters’ stories, it left them in the perfect place for life to happily continue onward in our minds. However, the recent revival on Paramount+, Criminal Minds: Evolution, has returned fans to this world and these characters as they, too, have been shaken by...

Channing Tatum is back as the magic man, and Stephen Soderberg returns to direct Magic Mike’s Last Dance. Written by Reid Carolin, this stripper story has a feminist edge as it introduces a new character played by Salma Hayek who’s at the center of the story. Like the other two films, Last Dance has some electric dance numbers (choreographed by Alison Faulk and Luke Broadlick), with Tatum being as charming as ever. But something is missing from this one and its rushed conclusion makes those ending moments appear random and out of place.
We first see Mike Lane (Tatum) working as a bartender at an event where he meets Maxandra “Max” Mendoza, a wealthy socialite going through a divorce. He goes back to her house, and she offers him six thousand dollars to ‘entertain’ her–prompting the longest strip dance scene ever. All the whining and gyrating wins...

However, given Rossi’s age (Mantegna is currently 75 years old), the question of when Rossi would retire also became a topic of interest for the series in these seasons as well. Warning! Spoilers ahead for Criminal Minds: EvolutionCriminal Minds: Evolution fans are sobbing over that flashback of Alvez and Garcia. It's been a tough time for fans of the popular pairing, now that Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) and Tyler Green (Ryan-James Hatanaka) have moved past their decidedly antagonistic relationship in recent episodes of the reboot. In fact, the duo embarked on a romance and Garcia planted a kiss on Green that surprised and delighted both characters. But that development also brought a renewed spotlight to Garcia's much-discussed 2020 date with co-worker and friend Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), leaving fans eager to see how that night went.
In the penultimate episode of Criminal Minds: Evolution season 1, viewers finally got an extended black-and-white flashback of how the date between Alvez and Garcia went. But it's left those same fans with a lot of feelings that they expressed on Twitter.
