Jim Rome was born on October 14, 1964 in Tarzana, California, USA. He is a writer and actor, known for The Longest Yard (2005), Space Jam (1996) and Arli$$ (1996). He has been married to Janet Hagman since July 19, 1997. They have two children.
Originally gave Nick Van Exel the nickname "Van Smack". After he said
that he hated it, Rome decided to keep it for himself.
Graduated from UCSB in December 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree in
Communications.
Has a daily radio sports talk show, The Jim Rome Show, considered by
many to the best sports radio talk show there is.
Made headlines when Jim Everett assaulted him during an interview after Rome, who had been mocking the quarterback by calling him Chris Evert on his radio show, baited him by calling him "Chris Evert" to his face. (6 April 1994).
