Updated, with NFL comment: A New York congressman fired off an angry letter to NBC Sports and NFL executives, complaining that the move of Saturday’s Chiefs vs. Dolphins wild card game to air exclusively on a subscription streaming service was a “bait-and-switch” being played on consumers.
The letter from Rep. Pat Ryan (D-ny) was sent to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NBC Sports president Rick Cordella.
Ryan wrote on X/Twitter, “How much more profit do Goodell and NBC need to make at the expense of hard working Americans? I’m demanding @NFL and @NBCSports end this Peacock bait-and-switch Bs and offer the Dolphins-Chiefs game on TV. Millions of loyal fans already pay for NBC. Let us watch the damn game!”

If Congressman Pat Ryan gets his way, users won’t have to worry about switching on sports games and finding them blacked out for much longer.
It’s happened to everyone. That frustrating feeling of trying to switch on a sports game featuring your favorite team, only to be met with a message that it’s not currently available in your broadcast area because of contract restrictions.
Congressman Pat Ryan of New York’s 18th District wants an investigation into sports leagues’ practices of blacking out games. Ryan says it’s unfair to expect users to subscribe to myriad streaming services to watch all the sports games they want to see. The congressman wants the Government Accountability Office to investigate whether leagues are abusing their antitrust exemption to the harm of fans. Is Blacking Out Sports Games Legal?

When Dr. Jessica Klemens thinks about the stakes of this year’s election in Pennsylvania, she imagines being summoned to the emergency room at the hospital where she works in Montgomery County and being presented with a patient bleeding heavily from the beginnings of a miscarriage. “If I go down there, and she’s hemorrhaging, but there’s still a fetal heartbeat” — and, if Klemens treats that patient as she’s been trained to as an Ob-gyn — “based on this [proposed] legislation, I would be committing a crime.” She thinks about ectopic pregnancies,...

When a stream of Democratic candidates trek to Los Angeles this month in likely their final effort to raise money before the midterms, they will be met by Hollywood supporters who are less deflated than they once were about the party’s prospects in November: Call them cautious, if maybe a bit more optimistic.
President Joe Biden’s recent legislative wins, coupled with a renewed focus on the chaos of Donald Trump, has given industry Democrats reason to believe that the party won’t face quite the drubbing that they did in the past. The backlash to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade, fueling a new wave of activism within the industry, has raised hopes that it will translate into improved turnout, and perhaps even match what is expected on the GOP side.

With Margot Robbie attached to a new "Pirates of the Caribbean" feature, there is now talk of updating Milton Caniff's "Terry and the Pirates" comic strip character 'Dragon Lady', based on 'Lai Choi San', a real woman pirate from the South China Sea :
Inspired by movie characters played by actress Anna May Wong, the 'Dragon Lady' term has since been applied to describe 'powerful women'.
Caniff's 'Dragon Lady', aka 'Madam Deal', debuted in in the first "Terry and The Pirates" Sunday strip story (1934), as a beautiful seductress, who fell in love with Terry's older sidekick 'Pat Ryan'.
In the years leading up to World War II, she became a force for good.
During the 1940's, actress Agnes Moorehead played the character on radio.
In the "Terry and the Pirates" film serial (1940), Dragon Lady was played by Sheila Darcy.

Once in a blue moon, a movie comes along that provides like no other. It can contain in-depth analysis into the human psyche, a romantic tryst that inhibits the world from rotating on its axis, profound intellectual human emotions on galactic levels, and/or redemption that sustains your inner wisdom from feeling remorse or guilt.
Street Trash has None of these!!
